This album is waaaaay before its time..... the masses were NOT ready for this....
I agree because back then no one listened to it or understood why I loved it now I know so many people listen to it and it's a decade later
and it still is
On point. This album is stupid incredible. This song in particular. Wow...the storytelling makes you visualize EVERY line, without a music video to go along with it. Genius.
Facts
This whole album is filled with some really deep statements and was really well thought out and placed together this song cigarettes kenji slip out the back from red to black just about the whole damn album was just wow
-"I guess one man's trash is the next man's treasure one man's pain is the next man's pleasure" THIS LINE !!!!
SAMEE tbh i think it is one of the most important things to rememeber in life
That's Black Thought from the roots.
Missed much bigger lines my man
There are so many lines in this track you could pick out... They pretty much covered everybody... But black thought pretty much hit every line!
C B T
Mike Shinoda: Rapper, Pianist, Guitarist... The best
...And awesome singer :)
And he is an awsome painter❤
i love your linkin park icon
Multi talented rapper...m shinoda
Why is ur profile picture a team logo from infinite warfare? Didnt know someone still liked that game
No matter how much time passes. This album will always be one of the best in music and has never been recognized as it should.
"Someone Right Now Is Looking pretty Tired, Staring at A Laptop Trying To get Inspired" - How Did He know!! Genius!!
Reece Flaxman : Absolutely!
Reece Flaxman yeah
扎心了
Power of dreams
Because it's happened to him many times as well
I like ...
I like piano parts in this song; I like this song's lyrics; I like the way how this song is describing a picture displayed in my head... I like how it brings me to tears, somehow giving me nostalgia.
I like this thing.
+Anna Gracheva Oh, thank you very much. 😃
dude this song is so good also linkin parks hands held high
+Moises Flores Yeah it really touches my soul.
Im right with you on that..a sad song but so good..
agreed still to this day.. it has meaning.... n helps me realize that our lives (mines included) isnt as bad as we think it is... n i believe that makes the song hit home...
I’m not a hip hop guy but I listened to this entire album and I loved every single song
You know a rapper is talented when he doesn't need to swear to prove a point.
Fresh Prince must be your favorite rapper
Edward Stanyer And wipe yo feet on the mat before coming in the house, yo momma just cleaned that floor
rakim never swears. nas only says nigga
and eminem swears, but he knows how to do it
Mike Shinoda is a legendary genius.
woah fort minor is awesome
yeah right?!
so underrated
I wish Mike shinoda would go harder with the raps cuz hes shown he can spit before but he waters shit down instead of going all out
@@jazzcritic3587 Probably the higher ups tell him to water down because they want to casualize him so badly like the other rappers in the music industry. He implies that in Get Me Gone.
@@jazzcritic3587 I just think nowadays Mike himself doesn't want to go hard in rapping. Lately he's been mostly singing and only rapping relatively simple verses, which is the reason I don't feel a connection with current Mike vs the 2005 Mike
I don't understand why this doesn't have more views? His lyrics are so good. Compared to rap that u hear on the radio, it actually has depth and a meaning
as Hopsin said "real artists get shelved, whack ones get famous to leave the masses brainless". while the music that is on the radio is getting famous it is also leaving a negative influence and has no meaning. some of the best rappers I've ever heard are Eminem, Hopsin, Tech N9ne, Fort Minor, Deltron 3030, and Flobots
+Jacob Lillard I listen to to hopsin all the time listen to fly
@@NotFromSt8Farm Dang that lyric was sick I guess I'm gonna listen to more Hopsin.
@@NotFromSt8Farm heard of all them except Deltron 3030. Might have to look them up. But you're right. Good people in any industry get fucked while the poster children help screw over the masses. This is the first time in mankind history, that we as a species are trying to dissolve the most intelligent.
That's the reason why.... These people don't wanna listen to it
this is so underrated
you are 100% correct and 500% sherlock
amen to that
Listening to this in 2020 is straight up sobering.
Listen closely to all of the lyrics and think about everything going on in the world right now. Never has this song been more fitting to the times!!
It's changed just like that
Still relevant now with this ukraine shit...
I come back to this song daily. Our world has become shit and this song balls it together with a nice bow
people act like nothing bad happened before 2020 lol
Yeah Russia didn't really help the 'changing the world just like dat' thing recently...
I grew up privileged enough to hear all of Linkin Park's music, but not enough to be given a chance to hear Mike Shinoda's earlier work. It's 2022 and I somehow decided to visit what I've missed my entire life as a young lad and this track just hits a part of my soul that makes me feel things. Hard to describe. Just hearing the voices upon voices of "just like that" gives me goosebumps.
I'd love to hear this song all over again but 12 years later and i'm still playing it.
"One mans trash is a next mans treasure
One mans pain is the next mans pleasure..."
Dam, I love this song. I remmember when I used to listen to it when I was high school. Haven't heard it for a few years probably. It gets all memories back...
I was literally thinking the same thing man... hell of a song
Likewise here m8, gets me back in o.g memories
My favorite Fort Minor song. Gets me right in the feels..
fort minor was something i REEEEEEEEAAALLLLY wish would have continued, they made one album, and received widespread critical acclaim as well as one of the biggest hits of the year. Fort minor really showed just what mike shinoda is made of, and he is one of the most talented/artistic people in the music industry. This is my favourite song off the album, can't believe it's been 10 years already.
They have a new album called "We Major" it just came out, look it up
Dylan Betancourt wait bro, i think your mistaken, isn't that the mixtape they put in 2005?
Christopher De Freitas I am mistaken but, I heard something on Google music tho
Dylan Betancourt i really hope they bring something new, and mike always hints at a return to fort minor
Christopher De Freitas welcome.
I've stuck in the USA for almost half a year once with fort minor's music. Had no job, no money, no qualifications... I had nothing and nobody but this very song and few cigarettes I barely managed to ask for. Finally managed to break through all the difficulties when I heard that song again at someone's walkman headphones...and I burst out with tears like a little girl. Their shit is real, so fuckin real no other musician could get into my bones so much
Hit me too :/ this and feel like home
+Konstantin A I hope you don't mind, I shared this story on Twitter. This is deep, and real, and a perfect example of the heartfelt potential of hiphop. Respect.
B-Line Beats do as you will, mate. I think everybody have such examples
Oh... I'm so sorry to hear that...
But, in the end, that's why he is better than anyone else, that's why he can get a right to the bones(bones, not veins)
Because he's focusing on the real shit everybody, every day is going through.
ツPetra no doubt.
My childhood:
Fort minor, Linkin park
Mike Shinoda was your childhood
Close your eyes, listen the music, go with the flow, create a void in your mind, and at the end you feel reborn!
Thanks Mike !
sylvain thanks for the advice I'm new
This album is gold
dat piano tho
Yeah man❤️❤️❤️❤️
This message is for Mike...
This song has never been more relevant or important. Please have you media/marketing people recirculate this song.
I love you guys, please keep doing what you do; it means more to us than you'll ever know
I image the music video in my head
This song was perfect for a music video :(
ruclips.net/video/uc9kg7RqXNw/видео.html I think this is a fan made video but it's really cool imo.
Oh Snap, Me To 😅
The song is like a short movie that you see with your ears and hear with your soul.
the lycris is touching my heart.
I'm back here what feels like a million years later and every verse on this track is still perfect...
This song destroys the careers of today’s so called lame ass rappers. The lyrics is 🔥.
yah man :/
It's much like rock. Rap/hip-hop's not dead, its just hiding. Try this: ruclips.net/video/VZMNO0BPYE0/видео.html

Man, I just wanted to thank you for providing this link.
I don't know how and where to find such actual good songs in the huge pool of crappy songs nowadays
@@Khazorin trap metal has some good artists , check out Xavier wolf, fat Nick ,wicca springs eternal ,ghostemane ,Bill Saber, suicide boys ,,pouya , they arent the average rappers but they are better than a lot of shit heard today I guess.
This song spreads one of the most important messages you will ever need in your life
This song is so underrated it pisses me off
The perception of society,
comedy is in the same situation,
the idiocy completes my suffocation
The answer to the question we all seek
Can be found, it depends on how free ya'll think
These two lines are one of the best i ever heard in my life. I don´t have any words how to express myself towards this. This is just beyond everything.
This is real not some sellout rappers
It's a beautiful song, yet sad and true. Many people live in situations like this song. Just think if it this way: Be thankful for what you DO have, because many other people can only DREAM of what blessings you have.
This version of hip hop and rapping is true to me. It's poetry with emotion and experience formed into a story of relevance that allows anyone from any genre to understand. Love and hate go hand in hand but if we all suffer and succeed together, that's what makes the difference. Never be alone.
I listened to this song when I was 12 and didn't understand it.
I listen now at 25, and I'm crying listening to it because of how much I can relate to it now.
Black Thought shits on every rapper. The Greatest of All Time!
agreed
WildfireWiffler44 Renegades for real!
I think there is room for the term "Best"
No. He gets wrecked royally by Hopsin, Tech N9ne, and Godemis of Ces Cru. Better than most mainstream rappers, definitely
Too 10 for sure
+Anon Legion Black Thought destroys all of them.
"One man's trash is the next man's treasure.
One man's pain is the next man's pleasure"
Everytime it gets me ♥️♥️♥️
this is so real
one of my favorite songs, no hesitation
Never has this song been more relevant.
I love that beautiful piano riff
I can't understand how Black Thought can adjust his voice, flow and write the right verse to perfectly match the beat and sentiment of whatever song he is on. Never have and never will hear a bad verse from Tariq
Black Thought ripped this song apart!
+k2datrack he is the reason "things fell apart"
yu nO
Thank you
I need to see Black Thoughts birth certificate, that mafucka isnt from this planet!

I think Fort Minor will go down as the most slept on rapper of all time. This song is beautiful and deserves way more views.
"Someone right now is leaving their apartment, looking down at the street and wondering where their car went." To "someone right now now is sitting in their car" transition goes soooo unnoticed. He is transition to the persons perspective that stole his car and its so well done 🔥
This song needs way more love. This is hip hop
What a beautiful song
11 years later and this song still hits home.
''Right now it's somebody who ain't eat all week
That would kill for the shit that you throw away in the street
I guess one man's trash is the next man's treasure
One mans pain is the next mans pleasure''
wow gave me chills down my spine
Some one right now, listening to this song.
This song still hits 10 plus years later! 🤙🏾❤️
Black Thought top 5 to ever touch a mic, period.
Forgot how many solid features he had on this album...Black Thought, Common, Lupe Fiasco, John Legend, Styles of Beyond...pure class!
Black Thought is definitely a freaking alien!!
"Right now somebody didnt eat all week / that will kill for the shit you throw away in the street"
One of the best songs ever written.
So much pain and truth. Absolutely masterpiece!
I've slept on park benches at night. I've never appreciated a couch so much after that Lolz. Seriously, you're world can turn around in ways you wouldn't believe
Konnor Barnes how are you doing now buddy?
Konnor Barnes Hope you’re having a far better life and you’re getting yourself situated with a happy family!
This song just appeals to me so much, it lets me know that I'm not the only one going through hard times..
+Chris D we all are
+Chris D Sorry to hear your going through a hard time, same here, like, i come from a broken home, so brotha, God Bless you and let you get through your time,
Masterpiece
Perfect from start to finish!
Haven't listened to Fort Minor since 2006 and today just stumbled upon thus song in laptop. Wow, it's really great... the lyrics, the meaning, the piano part.
They need to make a music video for this. Such great imagery and story line. It would be great
This song literally foreshadows today
This is honestly one of the most underrated albums ever.
This and Kenji are the best songs on the Album. There is so much delivered in the lyrics. It shows the view of so many people and in the end, we have to live our own lifes. Makes you think how many people have a way shittier life than yourself. Such a great song.
I'm coming from Rock, Punk and Metal but I keep coming back to this album because its just so good. I love Mike and his writing....Also Red to Black made me pick up playing bass! ;D
Black thought just absolutely kills it. One of my favorite verses of all time.
Love Linkin Park one of the best groups ever I personally think, but Fort Minor was also such an amazing project shout out to Mike Shinoda.
that 1st minute is sooo damn chilling.....
Listening to this song since 2005, freakin great song, respect!!!
i haven't heard this song in like 4 years, as soon as the chorus started i got shivers
It's 2021 and still loving it!
Great album
I really really hope Fort Minor puts out another album soon. This is excellent stuff
IMO Mike Shinoda is one of musics most underappreciated people
Wish this masterpiece got it’s own music video. & an animated one would be best.
Real men listen to this type of music. So cool & dope! Thank you Mike and his guys!
I love Fort Minor's song, I find as I get older I grow out of liking certain music, but never them there music still grabs me the same way as when I first heard it
this song made me fricking cry, seriously
15 years and I still dream of the day we get a 2nd FM album like this one 🥺
I still love this song until now
Mike is the real god of lyrical writing. Right from xero, fort minor n l.p., this man wrote each songs with such a beautiful meaning and with such a wonderful music. Theres no single day i wont listen to any of his song. True GOD of music.
Such a powerful song
this song keep playing in my head
Still brings a tear to my eye when i listen to this. Stay strong :)
this song is da shit. poignant lyrics, sick beats, nifty wordsmithing
everything of this song is so good i love it
Still my favorite Black Thought verse
you crazy. listen to pimpas paradise
@@rocklee6812 he is not, cause each two lines are opposite meanings. paradoxes. This verse is insanity.
This song fits the times Right Now so perfectly.
Hands down the darkest, most emotional and moving track on The Rising Tied. Red to Black is very good, but this has a rugged execution that gives me chills and brings me right back to some of the major struggles in my life. They're not great memories, but I love how this song can transport me back.
Ownage Productions I know I am 3 yrs late but I can relate to ur comment
Especially the piano
I am 8 yrs late but I agree. I also love Kenji, Remember the Name, Where'd you Go.. heck i love the whole album
This song is relevant today.Mike Shinoda was always ahead of his time.
I hate how high Mike ended up putting my musical standards. Since 2006 when I first heard his stuff less then 5 songs ever earned me over. Yet I love every single song in HIS album...
Why am I only just now digging this up? I heard "Remember The Name" on the radio at work last week, and knew I heard it before. Had no idea this group even existed.
Mike Shinoda has new music, Linkin Park has good songs :)
fort major
I still have stickers from signing up for the street team ! This album and this song is everything❤
Greatest rap album in my opinion. I have been listening to this album ever since it came out. Songs like this one gives you so much fucking strength, and makes you feel like someone else gets it.
This really makes you think, I loved this song for over a decade thinking "oh yeah,....some peoples lives sucks" now im facing a cancer spreading to my liver and kidney. life ultimately sucks. this song sums it up, everyone suffers. we need to be more friendly and love eachother. life does not seem to love us...so?...lets all be friendly for fucksake.
The greatest Rap song I've ever listened in my life! Been listening to this for the last 10 years and still sounds great!
Fort Minor and Black Thought is a dangerous combination.
2020 and this album is still one of the greatest of all time!
i listened to this when it first came out, and 14 years later its still fire. id put that over most new "hip hop" thats coming out!!
You know what I need? A girl who understands real music like this and would listen to this stuff with me..
Dude I was thinking exactly the same thing, I'm gonna see what my crush thinks about fort minor and the chill music I listen to.
How old are you? lol jk ;p
i need a man like that
Inferno115 go for it
Annie Beauvais and Brendan Vaughan please get married
I can picture everything said in this song.
My all time favorite track by them. I was deep into this after my bestfriend moved away in highschool
