Hey everyone! Just now seeing this and it was fantastic to host for someone to see my collection! Unfortunately, we didn't get to see EVERYTHING, but maybe another video in the future?! Yes, I am willing to sell books, such as the X-Men run (already got one email about it), but just like ANY OTHER COLLECTOR, there are books that I do want to keep for now. It's an ever-changing and always amazing hobby! So much fun! I hope everyone enjoyed seeing part of my passion for collecting comics (I also have tons of comic toys that we didn't get to see in the video)! Keep collecting and feel free to reach out to me!
It sounds like more than selling, Bob wants someone to share his collection with since his son isn’t interested. He should start a channel to show what he has and connect with other passionate collectors.
A lot of those Red Sonja and Black Cat books were just books with covers by J Scott Campbell and are always collectable because he has a huge following.
C'mon what heterosexual guy doesn't like good girl art? At the same time, I have range of artists that I enjoy, such as Alex Ross, Dan Jurgens, George Perez, Dan Mendoza, Adam Hughes, Walt Simonson, Frank Cho, Joe Linsner, the Toddfather, many Golden Age artists (even though I don't collect any GA). As long as you appreciate the art, you're good! Now, JRJR is a completely different story...LOL
Yo Sticky! Not sure if this is the best collection you’ve showed the team. But is certainly top two. I have a friend just like this and occasionally he will let me purchase a grail or two. Oh! Dude the “price is right!” Legit funny as hell. Keep ‘em coming Sticky G! Also, you may have to tell us the story behind your name or if you did. I missed it. 🎉😂😢😅😮😊
I really enjoy these videos seeing collections of this caliber in the general region I am from (I live in East KY, work in Huntington WV), and honestly didn't know of many such collections in the area. Keep up the great work!
Ive been serious collecting comic books since 1979 when i was 9 yrs old. I was very lucky in the fact that i had a much older cousin and a older brother who gave me their collections when they got older and thought it was no longer cool anymore. Now, they wish theyd never gave me those books. Lol. Most of which I've upgraded several times. I have a complete high grade silver age collection of avengers #1 - #200, X-Men #1 - #66, #94 - #150 + Giant size #1 ECT... No, theyre not for sale but, i do sale doubles when i make upgrades. I see no point in having 4 or 5 copies of every issue. Maybe big keys but, thats all id have multiple copies of.
Nice collection. I recently ran into a guy selling his entire silver age collection to get golden age stuff, I wonder if at a certain point people just want the high of getting really valuable books instead of the actual book itself.
I fully understand Bob's mindset, undoubtedly he wanted to reach out to another collector, unfortunately even though you consider yourself a comicbook collector, this gentleman is an avid collector, and this shows the difference between the generational mindset of you both. His pride in owning in such a collection doesn't have a price in mind, whereas the younger guys seem to want the keys, flip the book for profit instead of the appreciation of the art and time that went into creating such an item. I'm not putting you down or trying to rain on your parade or anything, but simply show the difference between generational thinking. I'll wager that Bob isn't to worried about cgc 9.whatever, as long as it's a clean copy and presents well, and current worth is irrelevant. You tube videos are all about hunting down the hot books or keys, but the true joy is completing a run, regardless of cost or age. This of course takes time, effort and a ton of cash. One day we will all be Bob. I would be willing to wager he even buys books simply for the cover art rather than to read or collect. Books, prints, statues, collectibles, posters, toys, curios, anything and all things related to the subject that brings so much joy will all be sadly sold for profit when Bob leaves us. Keep up the good work sticky.
Everyone cares about the money aspect because nobody wants a bad deal or to lose out on hard-earned cash. The best thing is to make deals that BOTH people walk away from happy!
@@RobertBarker-t5w : it was great to see your collection, like yourself I have stuff piled all over the place, I find stuff I'd forgotten about all the time. But I personally find it hard to let go. My collection owns me not the other way around. I would have to let a 3rd party sell it on my behalf because I just couldn't do it myself. Only sold 2 books in over 40yrs, and that was too help out another collector complete a run. I know what I paid originally, and I know the current worth but even that knowledge would not allow me to part with my "precious".
Omg! I would love to me this guy and work something out to get a bunch of awesome books from him! You should have purchased more, I don’t know what the heck you were thinking of!
Surtur Saga is THE BEST run on Thor period you will love it its pretty Epic and involves lots more then Just the Thor Mythos some of Thors best moments are in that. I know you will like. Simonson was the best Thor guy. Also insane collection now words can convey my envy. Had a simpler collection myself but lost in a house fire so good to see
BEST Claremont X IMO is the _Mutant Massacre_ x-over. An I'll tell you why - It's the story where [they] X-afficionados always say; _"The Massacre Had to happen."_ To essentially charge the Mythos. Giving X actual stakes & validity.. > Uncamny X 210-214 & X-Factor 9-11 are the main books (w/ A DD comic, A pointless Nw Mutant ish & some THOR tie-ins). The jaw on the floor bloodshed really begans in the classic Marvel 25th Anniversary styled Hero border book- *Uncamny X 211* A #MustRead (must own book). Where the Marauders really began too throw down the Gauntlet. & In return Colossus commits his first Kill, crushing one of the Marauder/ Murder's Head's w/ his hands! It's A pretty visceral comic. Angel looses his Wings, alot of CrAZy stuff happens in the _Mutant Massacre_ story. Go Buy them! UX 212 (for some reason) & UXM 214 (1st Mister Sinister) are the tougher books within the x-over to find.
Publishers need to go back to releasing weeklies in grocery stores and chain retailers. DC had the right idea with the 100 page issues but I'm not sure if they even make those anymore. If kids live in a town like mine, where the nearest LCS is almost an hour away, places like Walmart are the only places they can get their hands on comics. And in those Walmarts they stock big name manga.
This is great stuff , my thanks to you and karate expert, game show announcer extraordinaire Bob Barker for sharing. The title is a little inflated however, mostly in that you didn’t have time to really get into all his boxes. The collection you visited where the gentleman hooked you over his Star Wars books was off the chain. A true life time worth of collecting and knowing what to get. Still, I like this collection, it also appears to be strong on condition and protection which is great. When you were thumbing through the ASM and Hulks with one hand perched atop three levels of boxes I was kinda winching and waiting for a tumble disaster.
I wish you'd be nicer when you talk about people in your videos. Just for a second, imagine your Mom or your Dad was into some sort of niche hobby and a RUclipsr came to your house to film them. Then when the video went live and you sat down to watch it with your Mom and the guy says things like: "I was thinking like...are they gonna' kill me?" "You couldn't get a word in edgewise with them..." "This guy just wouldn't stop talking..." "This is the kinda' guy that'd talk your ear off..." I mean, this person you barely know (your words) lets you into their home so you can monetize their personal collection (you even admit they're nice to you) and then you make fun of them, for what, for views? I like your content on the whole, but you've got a mean streak in you that you need to work on.

It doesn't cost anything to be nice...
The hottest comic book collection you've ever seen? Seems like there have been a couple comic book collection videos you have done in the past year that were far more impressive than this collection? Collections with much more gold and silver books. Looked like a beautiful drive -- approximately where were you?
Saying you wish some of these comics were slabbed is something I still can't understand. You can't enjoy a comic to it's full extent if you can't read it. I get slabbing baseball cards, you get to see the whole card. Maybe I'm different, but it just takes the best part away and feels like the only care is money or saying you own it. This collection is awesome to me because you can read almost every issue he has. Good on him
He puts the lotion on is skin. Bob just keeps on talking? You keep dropping narcissitic comments then flip flopping back to how nice he was. I feel like im watching a Bipolar comic book movie.

Not the best Grindr meeting I’ve seen on film, but not bad.

What an honor to get to see all this comic book goodness. It would be great to see it properly displayed for all its worth.
I was hoping it was gonna displayed more
This collection was unreal …the fact he had Green Arrow/lantern 76 and hulk 181 just laid out like junk mail is crazy
