honestly, massive props to lilsimsie. This starter home looks so good and is actually fully functional and decorated. Bless her soul. 90% of EAs starter homes are so depressing, it's a little sad. I'm all for creativity in your own game, but I love how simsie tried to make the house blend in too, rather than just building what she wanted to. It looks so professional and I can't wait to play in it!
Actually after seeing her explaining the whole process makes me understand why the houses in the sims 4 are so crappy, i remember a video where one of the gurus said they only had a couple days to finish the houses. Here they gave them weeks and they still struggled

Um, self-deprecating humor is her brand.
So interesting to get an inside into EA’s build restrictions. I understand more why their homes are oddly decorated when the packs get released, it’s probably because the don’t have the items at the time they were built. Once they get the full pack they probably have to get rid of a bunch of stuff for the budget restrictions whereas they could make homes smaller and fill them better but unless you’re Lilsimsie you don’t know how to do it well... Thanks for sharing some of this with us... I’m so excited for this pack. 🌸🐨🌸
They probably also have a lot less time 2. I doubt that they have the time to remove and destroy things as much as she did.

EA's real restrictions:
No MoveObjects to a certain extent
Must stay within a certain budget
Must use only the pack and base game
Restricted item count and wallpapers
If anyone else knows more, please reply and add them!
No build cheats in general

you are not allow to have many different objects like if put a windows you should use same window you can use one or two different kinds of windows but its better to use same type of window sames goes for wallpaper you shouldn’t use different wallpapers. i hope you guys understands what i said

i know it doesn’t fit into the restrictions but as a japanese person living in japan i will say that we usually have the mailbox attached on the wall right next to the front door especially when the house is more old or traditional.
if you can use the mail box in the apartments from debug items, they might come in handy to make your japanese style builds more realistic :)

I feel like taking shoes off in a house is a common thing almost everywhere, except the US.
We take our shoes off in my Aunt and Uncle's house when we visit them.
It seems to be more popular in colder countries with snow, mud and carpets. Hot countries with dry soil and tiled floors don't mind as much, even within Europe.

I think it’s common to remove your shoes pretty much everywhere. The major difference is that Japan also has has you wear interior sandals
nah almost every person I know in my town in the US takes their shoes off unless in public places. Obviously I can't speak for every person in the whole country but it seems to be more dependent on personal household rules than culture here

It’s so crazy I’ve been watching simsie since 2017 and we both graduated highschool and went through moving out of our parents homes and starting college and graduating all at the same time, and in the same state lol. And now she is literally making the game that I grew up watching her play.

I’m really confused because you’ve mentioned not being able to use moveobjects (which makes sense) but James Turner mentioned in one of his videos that he could use it??
My guess is the restrictions either changed between packs, or it's not so much a binary "yes you can" vs "no you can't" and instead you can use it, but there are a load of restrictions on how you use it that can't be shown without breaking the NDA she probably had to sign.

Honestly the shoe-sign is such a wonderful feature! As a northern European it adds realism into gameplay. Finally all the colorful socks will make sense. Yes!

This was literally my favourite starter home when I got snowy escape, OF COURSE ITS BY LILSIMSIE!!! I remember thinking how out of character this build was for normal starter homes because it’s SO GORGEOUS!!! Like the other starter homes you move your sims in and immediately want to change things but not this one!!
You did such a great job on this home. The difference between yours and James' is so expressive of your personalities - you made sure you had tons of items sims actually need for gameplay, whereas his looks amazing with decor, but doesn't even have a TV much less a computer, easel, etc! I think it's ok that there's so little money left since you put an easel, and money can be made straight away with that.
Honestly, that’s one of my favourite starter homes from the newer packs! I didn’t realize that you were the builder behind it. When I found out, I was shocked :0 you did a really good job!
I love this build. I'm definitely moving my sims into it as soon as I get the pack
Love the build! It’s been perfect for my current family, you left the perfect amount of space to chuck in a chess table in the kitchen, looks just like a kitchen table that the sims happen to always play chess on 😂
And the downstairs bedroom went through some transformations, first a home gym, then nursery, kids room, and now teens. Added a second bathroom where the plants are on the porch👍🏻 love the build! 😊

this is so fun, I had no idea you built this house but I distinctly remember first moving into this lot and thinking that it looked so cute compared to other starter homes and that a few things were very inspiring building-wise for me! this is great
It is interesting that you tried using a raised platform as your first playtest with the platforms for this house. I feel like it would have been easier to create a lowered platforms first because that is what we are use to and the only way we could create platforms in the past.
I enjoy these types of videos of you showing the speed builds but pausing and discussing rather than just letting it zoom by like your other Speedbuild Sunday videos.

I played in this house for a while and I had a great time! It turned out really well!
I personally hate building in the sims, but I don't mind interior design and landscaping, so for my sims I usually just pick a pretty looking house, at least from the outside, and then renovate it
So when I picked this one I didn't even had to change that much on the inside, which is rare for ea starter builds haha
I was wondering why I loved this starter so much 🥺 Ive been playing in it with multiple saves and I didn't even know she made it. I love this 🥺🖤

Love the house! The only thing that kinda bugs me is that from the inside of the bedroom on the first floor... the door is floating (9:32) ... other than that great it looks really cool and it's exciting to know you got to work on this pack with EA!

It’s such a good shell once you’ve got the money to renovate and buy more art or extend the rooms etc. I love it so much.

OH KAYLA MADE THIS HOUSE OMG i literally chose this house yesterday while i was playing and i was so shocked bcit looked so good lmao i added a second bathroom and bedroom on the first floor (for the kids) and the original layout was already so good that it allowed me to do that without looking weird like in other starters homes!!

I’m going to be using that shoe in ALL my homes. I always found it weird that sims wear shoes in the house... we don’t do that in Canada. Why would anyone do that? You just get mud and dirt all over your house... and bare feet just feels better anyways.

Challenge Idea:
Building a House with the designed Rooms in the Game. You can change the Walls/shape of the Rooms and rearange the Funiture and Objects. But you have to use the Objects in that Room and can obly change the swatches.
Finally! We wanted so long for this!💚
The build is amazing, but one thing really bothers me. The door to the first-floor bedroom is a step up from the actual bedroom floor. I know it's cause of the platform outside it but... idk it just irks me (but I still adore the build!!! I can't wait to use it!!!)
They do size up and size down objects in homes. The mansion in the Get Famous pack has a rug sized up.
