Sailed on Wonder of the Seas in June 2023 on a 7-night cruise. My wife and I stayed in an Oceanview Balcony cabin near the middle of the ship on the starboard side. Our fare was about $1800 each; we also paid around $240 for the Wi-Fi package for both of us. We only ate in the complimentary restaurants. We did excursions at 2 of the 4 ports we went to for around $200 total. The gratuity charge for the cabin was about $230. I purchased, on average, 3 alcoholic beverages per day (all cocktails); costing $45-50/day (wife doesn’t drink). We purchased coffee at Starbucks 3-4 times and each did an acupuncture session….that was fricken expensive. The grand total was about $5500. That does not include the drive down to Port Canaveral from near DC and back (rented a Suburban, as there were 6 of us) and hotel room the night prior to the cruise.
See the supposed little stuff adds up. Timing is also important. We did a Transatlantic Eastbound on a Solstice class ship this spring. It was not even half full. We kept on getting upgrades all over the place. We wound up in a Sunset Verahdah at the rear of the ship which is the best cabin you can get and the total cost for 13 nights was less than half of what you paid for one week on the Wonder. The solstice class ship was plenty big enough.. While we were in port in Barcelona (a great place) we saw the Symphony. It had just set a record for the largest passenger transatlantic crossing. 5500 people or thereabouts not including the crew. We were on the Wonder the year before Eastbound transatlantic and I could not imagine that ship full up. So I realized thats what everyone was opting for. A crossing on a Oasis class ship. But they paid through the nose as you did. I cant fault them in the sense taking the Wonder Transatlantic (First Eastbound Transatlantic) was a dream but ours last year was about 1/2 full. I think being on a large cruise is like traveling in big cities; you have to know how to manage. Yes there are lines but lots of choices. I've been on Oasis of the seas and Harmony of the seas; had a lot of fun and would go again.
Well, over a hundred planes crashed, lots of trains derailed, and millions of car crashes, Cruises, are very safe, and if a cruise ship does sink, the fatalities are usually very low.
@@ThatOneBillsGuy I know) I was more kidding than being serious. It’s just I knew Costa Concordia sank, Admiral Nakhimov in the USSR, Estonia.. but I did not know there were 22 disasters with cruise ships. Actually Estonia does not even count as I think it was rather a ferry than a cruise ship
I heard they are building a cruise ship so big that you board at one end and step off on the island at the other end without the ship even having to sail on the water.
30 years ago there was a article in Popular Mechanics about what future cruise ships would look like. As I remember the this huge floating hotel type was included but there were some with open stern lagoons that got stuck on the drawling board.
I did love Royal Carribean's Soverign class Sovereign of the Seas, Monarch of the Seas and Majesty of the Seas. I cruised on each one and they were amazing. At the time that Sovereign of the Seas came into service, she was the largest ship in the world.I cruised on her twice. I do love the smaller ships too HOWEVER I won't frown on Mariner of the Seas or Symphony of the Seas. They are large yet amazing ships that I enjoyed cruising on.
Think about it that means that many people have to be suckered into being loaded into a giant floating barge. Then they get to scurry off the boat during the day to rush around & see the sights.
fun fact: Did you know that it cost them over 10 thousand dollars in maintenance per year?! Not to mention $200 oil change for each trip and over $1500 food for fish in the tanks.
You keep saying that cruising doesn't come cheap. Yes it CAN be expensive, but it also can be the least expensive vacation type trip you can take, including airfare! If you take into account a regular trip with airfare, you have to pay for, hotels, food, transportation to and from places to see. Plus any tours you take and then have to pack and unpack for each place you stay. With a cruise you unpack once, move from port to port, food is included as is entertainment and other amenities. for way less money than other vacations.
No offense intended, but as soon as you mentioned “Sub Contractors” are involved in building this, I immediately knew it was a floating piece of crap with around the clock repair work and maintenance constantly being done absolutely ruining the customers vacations. I guarantee it.

A very very honest review from a Diamond club first class passenger.
Cruising used to be a 'deal' but it's getting expensive. A year ago a week cruise on Oasis of the Seas (the then biggest cruise ship in the world) with two exterior cabins with ocean balconies for for people was $4200This past summer the exact same cruise was over $10,000.
never
Wow very nice luxury ship..hope we will on board with my family soon to the help of our almighty God..
I think being on a large cruise is like traveling in big cities; you have to know how to manage. Yes there are lines but lots of choices. I've been on Oasis of the seas and Harmony of the seas; had a lot of fun and would go again.
How much money did it cost you and please would you adopt me? 😅
Going on Oasis for 5 nights in December with stops in Jamaica and Haiti. It’ll be my second one, first was on the much smaller and older Enchantment.
These things would make great reefs.
Yes - after being detoxed!
Crazy. I heard "wonder of the seas" is the largest.
It is. I think the other one just has more passenger capacity (sleep cabins).
Mankind’s madness continues!
🇦🇺💯%
I have cruised numerous times but I prefer smaller ships. These just look like cattle calls. Too many people for me.
In the past hundred years ONLY 22 cruise ships have sunk… wait a minute. What??? TWENTY TWO??? No way I am going on a cruise now
Well, over a hundred planes crashed, lots of trains derailed, and millions of car crashes, Cruises, are very safe, and if a cruise ship does sink, the fatalities are usually very low.
@@Tim_OSKOk thanks for making yourself clearer, and yes, Estonia is a ferry.
I heard they are building a cruise ship so big that you board at one end and step off on the island at the other end without the ship even having to sail on the water.
Viking cruise lines are more along what I would want. Nice quiet relaxing cruise, no one under 18 so no kids running around.
There is so much stuff wrong with the video I can’t put it in 1 comment
Correct, he is spouting unrealistic costs. We cruise for less than $100 per day about twice a year. Ocean crossings are our favorite.
Yeah, there’s no way icon of the seas is 1200 feet tall. And the cruise prices… $25,000-$1 million? On what planet?
Maybe in his currency not USD
NOAH : HOLD MY BEER.
Idk why the ocean liner lovers say “oH wE jUSt HaVE FlOatiNg BatHtuBs tOday” BE GREATFUL. WE SHOULD BE GLAD WE HAVE FUN SHIPS. SO BE GREAT FUL NOW!!

Shut the hell up
After titanic accident disaster, I will bring in my inflatable plastic boat.
You and me both.
Sadly you can't use it in the pools... 😢
30 years ago there was a article in Popular Mechanics about what future cruise ships would look like. As I remember the this huge floating hotel type was included but there were some with open stern lagoons that got stuck on the drawling board.
My worst nightmare.
9.15 The morgue "quite rare...."(!) Thanks a lot!
Best cruie ships are the small ones!
Where is the Pacific Princess when we need her?
I did love Royal Carribean's Soverign class Sovereign of the Seas, Monarch of the Seas and Majesty of the Seas. I cruised on each one and they were amazing. At the time that Sovereign of the Seas came into service, she was the largest ship in the world.I cruised on her twice. I do love the smaller ships too HOWEVER I won't frown on Mariner of the Seas or Symphony of the Seas. They are large yet amazing ships that I enjoyed cruising on.
Este Cruzeiro e um Hotel 🏨#
Let me get this right, the Icon of the Sea is 1198 feet tall (per the graphic) at 2:35?
I can't believe all the commenters who can't figure out that he made a mistake and meant to say 1198 ft long, not high.
It is not enough to go to the warplanes, but to reduce the cost of fuel, it is taken on the ship
Go for a cruise to get away from the big city.
Now you’re in a floating city with many people. 😂
There isn't enough money on the planet that would convince me to take a "vacation" on that floating petri dish.
W😊OW! Amazing!
One giant wave and you're all fish food! 😂😂😂
I can't imagine a cruise ship over 1,000 ft tall
Right? I mean it does NOT exist but yeah,
I love your comments... Teach me.
Nice big beautiful Ship, but who wants to find him & Herself doing a downtown crowd during rush hour while on vacation??
I will take a trip on this ship next time...
عمل مدهش جبار . شكرا جزيلا لكم .والله يحفظكم ويرعاكم ويحميكم جميعا . تحياتنا لكم من غزة فلسطين .
Great!!!😲😲😲
So ridiculous looking. Sardine can with 9,000 people bumping into you. Yea..such fun. Will take at least 2 days to evacuate ship if it sinks.
Totally agree with you 🎉
No problem--a ship that size will probably take at least 2 days to sink.
As a matter of fact, a lot of the larger ships have more square feet of space per passenger, so they actually feel less crowded than a small ship.
Hello sahabat ku apa kabar🙏🙏💕✴️💐💐🙏🙏
Honestly so incredible 😮😮
Think about it that means that many people have to be suckered into being loaded into a giant floating barge. Then they get to scurry off the boat during the day to rush around & see the sights.
For 3 hours buying Hardrock souvenirs and T-shirts. Lame as it gets!
What these big ships says “Covid”. Too many people for me 😮
Really ? August 2023 and you STILL belive in that BS , covid ???
paranoid fool
That ship looks so fckn HIDEOUS.
The price of boat 🚢 made already in few days with that high price 💰
Oh wow that’s a cool ship.
Sangat luarbiasa kapal pesiar megah dan indah ok thankyou full
Colors and aesthetics scream "Barbie's Dream House of the Seas". 😂😂😂
fun fact: Did you know that it cost them over 10 thousand dollars in maintenance per year?! Not to mention $200 oil change for each trip and over $1500 food for fish in the tanks.
Seems like the royal Caribbean is dominating these seas
Top polluters of the seas!
Yet another proof of our journey too the End...
I can't imagine a cruise ship over 1,000 ft tall. I’ve got to go on a cruise on that ship!!.
@@bkk115 Agreed!
Made in Finland👍💪❤
You keep saying that cruising doesn't come cheap. Yes it CAN be expensive, but it also can be the least expensive vacation type trip you can take, including airfare! If you take into account a regular trip with airfare, you have to pay for, hotels, food, transportation to and from places to see. Plus any tours you take and then have to pack and unpack for each place you stay. With a cruise you unpack once, move from port to port, food is included as is entertainment and other amenities. for way less money than other vacations.
Too many working class people spoils the experience for they people who did better in education and class !!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'll go on one. if it's gon stay dock to land.💯
You couldn’t pay me enough to get on one of these monsters.
You could pay me -100 dollars to get on to one of those ships, that's me paying 100.
Just too damn big for my taste. It’s like a whole damn town goes on vacation with you.😮
Is it me, or that doesn't seem like enough lifeboats for everyone on that ship.
It's you!
How stable will this ship be in rough waters and in storms?
More stable than an older, smaller ship, from what I've read.
I was a musician on the P&O Cruise Ships and these new' many' deck Ships are a Deathtrap.
No offense intended, but as soon as you mentioned “Sub Contractors” are involved in building this, I immediately knew it was a floating piece of crap with around the clock repair work and maintenance constantly being done absolutely ruining the customers vacations. I guarantee it.
Could it survive a rogue wave
This is a good look
2:35 "has a HEIGHT of 1198 feet". Seems like it would be a little top heavy! Almost as tall as the Empire State Building!
