Since I began watching you two in the RV, along with Chris and Cheri who are currently on a motor boat, I have considered you two couples my younger brothers and sisters while expanding my ideas of travel. As a retiree, I have traveled, but you all have shown the details and taken the mystery out of the unknown of the adventures.
I find it amazing how many people who are negative naysayers and discouragement mongers to destroy your dreams and ideas.
I left a year ago in a pop-up camper, returned to sell the little camper, going back out in a tent and looking forward to a summer of hiking & backpacking on the east and west coast.
I will continue to follow your travels, and I wish you both love, calm winds, smooth sailing with all of your dreams to come true!
    Happy one year anniversary! :-)

It is interesting to me that your boat adventure started almost to the day my medical school adventure started. At 59yo I am one of the oldest first years in the nation (maybe history). And, yea, I had a lot of people tell me, it can't be done. You will never practice, you are wasting your time and money. OK, I'm not the stellar student I was 40 years ago. But when the patient is sobbing because the news is not good .... I can look them in the eye, hold their hand and they know I've already walked that beach. So keep up the sailing, keep up the videos, love watching every one.

I've been following your channel on a short while, and having grown up on the water, seeing new people join the lifestyle of water life, is always pleasing. You went about it in your own way, while educating yourselves and preparing yourselves thoroughly. It is wonderful to see you both facing your fears, tackling the challenges and always learning. There will never be a time on the water where you know everything, only that you know you are as prepared as you can be. Keep it up, you can do it!

Sure somewhat. I was sick one day so I binge watched their RV stuff from Alaska. While still very interesting, it felt more formulated and more of a sense of directed ambition than here. Now on their boat they seem more mellow and laid back about selling themselves. I appreciated both styles.

You guys are so hysterical......I wasn't around when you announced your plan to travel via sailboat....But I can say watching you these past few weeks.....have you looked at yourselves? You still look like kids! You dance around, ride the front of the boat like a "rollercoaster," venture to places no one else would, islands no one's ever heard of, no fear, no fear, no fear to sleep across hundreds of miles, switching up the captains chair night to me was the most surprising, NIKKI'S the captain, men don't understand how Jason could allow it, but I see how crucial his repair aptitude is....crossing the gulf stream you were courageous and humerous. I think everyone else, myself included thinks too much Also you two are a great support to each other.....I don't think you realize how rare that is. Rare. Love everything ❤️💙💕♥️💚💜💛💛💛💛💛🐠🐠🐠💛💛💛💛🤍🌼🤍🌼🤍🌼🤍🌼🥂Chambong💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛

You've paid attention to the details and have successfully transitioned to the next chapter Congrats!

Had been following you in your RVs and then your jump to a catamaran ! Also have been following SVDelos for years and have seen some of the trials and tribulations they've gone through. When you made this jump to a sail boat, I was in that other group that silently said, "Oh my God, they're both going to die". Have enjoyed how you "wisely" chose to stay in the relatively calm water of the Caribbean and learn, learn, learn. Get a crew that wants to sail, knows how to sail, and wishes to share costs and you'll be fine. You're both smart and quick learners. Admitting your mistakes, frailties and shortcomings implies strength of character. Wish you both the best. Gary

I've watched all year. I've had my doubts, and yes, sometimes your viewers worry about you! And it's fun to watch you snorkel, fish, visit islands, and just explore and learn - always. The sit down and review here is my favorite - it's so awesome to see you finish each other's sentences. I love the truthfulness and openness you both have - that's the chambomb that keeps me coming back - I know I get the real experience through your eyes.

There's sailing and then there's sailing. Fair weather sailing and foul weather sailing are two different things. It's nice to know that if you are careful about choosing safe weather windows you don't have to be an old salt to be able to sail the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Before fairly good weather predicting , the Gulf Stream crossing could prove deadly, but now its more likely to be a non event. You have given me hopes of following in your foot steps before long.

Once you get to Panama the June to December hurricane season does not matter. You can cross to the Marquesas any time of year, but if you are west of the Marquesas you want to avoid the November to April South Pacific cyclone season. (We crossed in December and then flew back to the USA.) The 3 month limit on visas for non-EU citizens without long-stay visas in French Polynesia means you have to go offshore in the cyclone season if you arrive in the Marquesas before March. Most folks crossing the Pacific in one year wait to not arrive in the Marquesas before April but no later than May.

Congrats on passing the one-year mark. In my own day sailing experience (in lakes and bays -- no blue water), I have learned more about myself and how I react to various stressors -- no true emergencies (I did have a side stay pop on a little day sailer one time which brought the mast down in the middle of a lake) and but small ones -- but plenty of experiences that taught me about the limits of myself and my boat. One thing about sailing is that its a continuous learning process. If you ever get to the point where you feel like you've learned it all, that's when things get really dangerous. Good luck, fair winds and smooth sailing!

What an amazing journey you two have taken! I have really enjoyed following along.
My wife and I go to the east coast of South Korea every year, to visit her family. It is so beautiful there, and there is a harbor at every town along that coast. I've always thought it would be so nice to sail into Korea, Japan, and China from the Pacific, but, no one ever seems to do it. For me, the beauty is in the northern latitudes. I could well imagine a sailing journey from California north through the 'inside passage' to Alaska, out along the Aleutians, and over to the amazing Kamchatka Peninsula, and then on south to Japan, then over to Korea, and up into the Yellow Sea to Shanghai, and Beijing, then south to Hong Kong and Macau. I encourage you to investigate the northern latitudes. There is so much to see there. You can always go south to the tropics later, when it's winter in the northern hemisphere.
Wishing you well, and smooth sailing.

Through looking at sailing I found ya'll. I had already decided I dont want to settle for awhile. I'm about to get out of college with a degree and an Aircraft mechanic certs and about to finish up a privet pilots licence, Iv also worked on lake boats (small guys) before and spend a good bit of my childhood RVing (30ft pull behind). After spending 4 years at an aviation centric school: To own an aircraft that can truly handle international travel is multi-millionaire money, rv'ing is limited to continental paths, and my aviation certs can grant me international jobs. Having not sailed before, this really makes me comfortable looking to livaboard as soon as I can afford to. Thank you for making it look like a reality, and i'll be glad when I have student loans payed off so Im not attached to a job as badly. :)

Great reflection on your 1st year! Believe it or not our story sounds almost identical - but with a twist. We bought a 2016 FP Lucia 40 catamaran from the factory, had it delivered from France to Annapolis for commissioning, then learned how to sail!! Three months later (early November) I sailed it down to the Virgin Islands. We don't plan to sail around the world until the kids are out of school and liked the idea of letting chartering help pay some of the boat costs before we're ready. Hopefully one day we'll be able to tell our story as well as you! Great job guys.

Once again, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! What is the magic draw of that canal? While the Caribbean perhaps has a reputation for being overcrowded with cruising sailors and mega cruise ships, it is still some of the best sailing, island-hopping and traveling there is. There are still countless out of the way places to explore as well as reasonably busy well-known spots. Just like Nassau is NOT typical for the Bahamas! In addition to all of the many large and small islands south and east of Jamaica down to Grenada, there are the Islands along the north coast of South America and the lovely, totally different San Blas of Panama, and on . . . . . Stick around and breathe in the Caribbean for a longer while! That canal will still be there as the gateway to the rest of the world.

There is something utopian about sailing the seas. At the same time, extremely frightening. I was one of those who thought, these two are in for a rude awakening. A huge change awaits. It's all about change. Willingness to accept change can be difficult for some. But, the two of you have embraced it and the challenges each day brings. And appear to enjoy it. To me, that is inspirational. You two make a good team. Enjoy your new adventures. "Carpe Diem".

I can't believe it was about a year ago when I was watching you guys move from the RV to the boat, or even looking for a boat! You guys are amazing! Inspired to go out and do something like this.

I knew you'd get the hang of sailing. Like anything else in this world, there's only one path to mastery of any subject and that's commitment. And when the sale papers are signed and it's just the two of you standing on the dock next to your very expensive vehicle, that alone can be enough motivation :)

I love you folks so much. Very proud of you. I've followed you a long time. Found you from my study of RV/tiny living. I had converted an ambulance into a rolling dorm room and lived in it w dogbert all through school orbiting campus and work. Watched all your content. Took a little break from the cracktube over the last two years while overloaded working 40 hours and being full time care for my disabled mother. Picked you back up about 3 months ago and quickly caught up on the sailing adventure. I grew up on a coastal Maine island. Salt water pumps through my veins. I used to do a lot of sailing. At one point I had a charter license. I was thrilled to see you take on this new adventure but terrified for you at the same time. I was worried that you had zero sailing experience and I was worried if you understood the magnanimous power that is the ocean. I have to say that I am so proud of both of you!! You have done so well. I always anxiously await your next good wifi for upload!
On a sad note I will mention that when you announced that you are taking applications for crew, my heart leapt from my chest straight for you but quickly fell to the floor and shattered in the next moment when I remembered that I am anchored to my mother and her inland Maine house. Maybe some day.

Been solo sailing the coast from Mobile Bay now to New Smyrna Beach, FL. Headed up the east coast and back to the Great Lakes. That has been my learning trip. I have learned a LOT. I am planning the next journey already.
I am really happy you two have found it. I am considering central/south America in a year or two.

I feel the same way I am a disabled single Mother. Everyone told me I couldn't have a baby on my own and I did that without any government assistance what so ever ! So then I said I was going to buy a R.V. and take my Daughter camping and they told me the same thing, it's not possible. Well I had already bought a three quarter ton truck 6 months before I found out I was pregnant and not only did I pay off my truck I raised my Daughter. Well I did get a 28 foot travel trailer and I'd be camping, people would say who pulled that trailer down here for you and I'd just laugh and say me !!! So the morel of the story is.... You can do anything you put your mind to. So I totally understand where you guys are coming from and I think your great ! Go for it follow your dreams and don't let anyone daunt you ! Have fun and keep on keeping on ! Safe sailing ! And the next time someone says dream on, just say " I will " !!!!! 😊
