Excellent video once again! How is the quality on the zv e1 in 4K vs 1080? I livestream regularly for over 1.5hrs but I am concerned about overheating. If I drop down to 1080 would the quality be noticeable? Thanks my fellow Canadian!
I always use a cheap video capture device for streaming, I think the video quality is superior to using the camera's USB and I have never had overheating problems. I have used the Sony a 5100, sony a6000 and the sony a6400 and I have never had any problems. heating problems
The fact that I bought the first edition just weeks before the new version was released makes me sad. At least it helped meg to shoot a few 90-100 minutes long talkshow/podcasts with my a6700 using it with no overheating.
I gotta say if you want streaming and peace of mind - use a dummy battery. Most likely it will fix the overhitting issue for you plus you don’t need to worry about running out of juice. A side note: I’m note sure I get the 4K streaming thing - I thought most platform limit your output bandwidth so you can only do 1080 🤔
I see the description on the Ulanzi web page says it is compatible with the nikon Z30. Could you please explain why it doesn't really fit, like you siad in the video? Also, there are two speeds on the fan. What speed did you use on the Z30 for it to run indefinitely (4K 24fps)?
I just used speed one (the quieter one). But the Nikon ridge where the screen flips out is too shallow to hold the Ulanzi spring. So I put a small elastic around it. And in that case, the smaller suction cup one would make more sense to buy because you can just put the elastic around that one too
the fan is a bad joke and a huge disappointment. Preordered mine back then, but it didn't deliver. Using it with a Canon R8 it didn't solve any issues. Indoors with normal temps it prolongs the overheating at 4k60 but doesn't solve it. The R8 doesn't seem to overheat at 4k30 . But outdoors it's useless, it prolongs overheating for up to 30%, which sounds good but considering the R8 can overheat in under 20 minutes in the sun, it's not much. Also the battery runtime is bad and the suction cups show failed engineering. Not sure if the new improved clamp is better. All in all it's money drained down the toilet. Indoors I can just use my 100% silent 120mm fan I 3d printed a nice mount for the cold shoe. It has a secure mount, is silent, keeps the camera cooler and the better solution indoors. Outdoors unfortunately I gave up and had to go down to 4k30 since dealing with 4k60 overheating was just too much. And yes I'm one of the weirdos that likes to shoot long form content in 4k60, well at least, I did
