Sold a Toyota Highlander to get an Enclave. Much quieter, no wind noise, less road noise, better ride. I get about the same fuel economy with a lot more front seat legroom. Very happy.
@@East17A put 125,000 on a 13 and 185,000 on my 15 Premium, now have a 23 Avenir with every option, great car with 50+ improvements, best one and had no big issues with my other 2, engines were bullet proof.
I know this could be a vehicle that the owner loves. In a way the short comings are only apparent when looking the competition not when driving it. I bet it would be a very comfortable competent ride.
I agree with you about the cheapie sunroof shade. I’m a bit surprised that there is not a self-parking feature available (or standard) on an SUV this size. I’m holding out for a ‘24 Envision that has hopefully had a mid-cycle refresh by then.
Did I hear you right Steve .... $60K+! I'll need to tap into my HELOC next time I buy a car. My neighbor just bought a new car and financed it for 84 mo to keep his pymts affordable....that's 7 yrs! And people wonder why the used car market is so hot. Love the channel.
It would be interesting to watch a comparison video between Buick Enclave vs Cadillac XT6 since a fully loaded Enclave is at the price point of a base XT6. I wonder is a fully option Enclave just as good or even better than a entry level XT6.
I traded my 21 XT6 for the 22 Avenir. The longer wheel base, diamond stitched leather with massage function. Quieter interior with more room and other features made it ez. Same price as my XT6 Sport, but other than name, a better vehicle. Funny how all the GM service staff already know the Buick advantages.
@@76carmel Correct Billy, and I love my 2021 Enclave Avenir. Although I love my new 2023 MDX Type-S Advance even more, I could never recommend the regular MDX. It’s slow and the brakes are mushy.
@Robert Duklus It still has a bad reputation across the board. There are so many mechanics talking about it and saying their should be a class action suit.
Steve, Thanks for the in depth review. I am shopping the market for a 3 row suv as I have a baby in the way and a large dog. Need so guidance as so many options are available. The new 2023 pilot seems legit as yes the cost cutting is evident on the interior but the money hopefully was spent well on the underpinnings and suspension so hopefully its great driving. An enclave avenir we drove and really loved the driving dynamics and the space would be perfect but yes seems a bit outdated compared to luxury and premium focus of hyundai and kia which are 10-12 k lower. In addition, the mdx seems like a good competitor to the buick. Where do you lean towards and please elaborate
The Palisade and Telluride are pretty unbeatable though they don’t drive quite as well as the Buick or MDX. Hyundai/Kia is the first place I’d look if I needed a 3-row without going much above $50k for a top of the line model.
MDX is crazy small inside. The new Pilot has a timing belt and cylinder deactivation, neither are awesome for 2023-2024. The Korean twins are also utilizing some dated mechanical pieces and dealing with their service dept and Kia/Hyundai as a whole is a headache. We had 2 fully loaded Telluride's, both had issues. Shopped the entire segment, literally every car and settled on a 2024 Enclave Avenir because of its comfort, quiet cabin, V6, dynic suspension, and more cargo room than everything else.
And how does this compare to an Acura MDX? Dollar for dollar, I think the MDX (w/ technology package) might be the better value at a few thousand less. Also, Enclave is overpriced. They can't build Tellurides/Palisades fast enough while Enclaves get a sunburn on dealer lots. I like the Enclave - just don't see the value.
Unfortunately cost cutting measures are too apparent for a vehicle marketing luxury. No powertrain options or cooled rear seats and sunshades as are with competitors not considered luxury. No auto all windows or interior lighting options like a dimmed back drop light that can change colors. I think this vehicle although well designed is not enough to demand $60+k. There are better options on the market for a similar price and better track record. I do like the size for passengers and cargo but that is all it has that is better then the competition. GM needs to stop nickel and dimeing their luxury vehicles especially if they want the overly high price tag they demand. If they fix at least what I brought up then they would be the leader.
If Gen X wanted luxury a Buick is not what they would be looking at. If they have the money they would still spend it on something from BMW/Merc or Lexus. If they wanted a lower price but luxury features then there are better options from Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai.
This Buick will be no different than every Buick built today, a reliability nightmare. You want quality and reliability buy a Toyota or Honda product. This isn’t the 1970’s people, spend your hard earned $ wisely. Good luck !!

The Toyota and Honsa are good cars, but they aren't great for wind and road noise. I just test drove a Honda Pilot, and it felt like a tin can. Road noise galore

how reliable. I heard a lot of scary reliable engine issues in the long run that scars the hell out of me. I do like those Buick's very much though.

62 thousand for a car IS big money!
Great Review, Steve. 60k+ though is steep, to hand over for a "Buick." That for me, would be best spent on a German.
Remember, this Enclave is a 3-Row family hauler. For this price point ($46-65k), the only competition to the Buick is the Acura MDX.
You could throw in the QX60 and Q7.
No German 3 row at close to this price. And we all know how the Germans price the options. The base price is always misleading.

Buick is GM’s top brand in China.
With leaders like the Telluride and Palisade this should top off at 50k
Those suvs are overhyped, over priced junk.
Dam* $63k to much for my pocket. Nice suv!!
the only drawback when it comes to GM products is reliability. especially the v6 engine timing chain in the long run its concerning
