As well as their goofy ahh accomplices they defeated on previous inconveniences, such as Knife-Throwing Time-Stopping Maid, Green Haired Shrine Maiden, and others on rare occasions, such as Half Ghost Gardener with a Katana and Rabbit with a Finger Gun
This seems to about sum it up, and rather accurately as well. One thing I'd like to correct, is that there's nothing limiting undodgeable spell cards. In fact, it's like half the plot of 14.3(named Impossible Spell Card, or ISC for short). Yorihime from Silent Sinner in Blue actually used undodgeable danmaku, and while ZUN wanted her to appear in a game, he couldn't do it because games need to be beatable.
The description of Impossible Spell Card states the following: "...now that Seija is a repeat offender, Reimu has issued an unusual order to defeat Seija using unprecedented danmaku - patterns each of the girls considers to be impossible to beat." "Figuring that if they can cheat, she can too..." This suggests that the "un-dodgeable" spell cards are breaking the spell card rules under order of Reimu.
@@WaveracerTCG The funny part is that it is entirely possible to beat the spellcards itemless, so they actually don't technically break the rule of having to be beatable.
Great video! I hope this isn't too much to ask, but I hope you can make a video about basic strategies and bullet patterns in the future. Things like "Here's some of the most common types of bullet patterns or types, and how you can recognize them and respond accordingly". Such as lasers.... But, it's just an idea. Keep up the excellent work!
You might be the third Touhou channel I've seen this year that uploads stuff. I appreciate how straight forward this video was so I look forward on the other videos you upload.
Very neat little video. Not many people talked about the story aspect of touhou, which is a shame really. It would be interesting if you dive deeper to touhou lore, especially everything that happened between the creation of hakurei Barrier and touhou 6.
Thanks! And I'd definitely be interested in making a deep lore video. I'd just want to make sure I know what I'm talking about, since fanon can get mixed in there sometimes when I'm researching.
@@WaveracerTCG ah that's good to know, I'll be patiently waiting for it. Also just a suggestion. While having fanon information would be misleading, i think when talking about character specifically, having information that are drawn out by their real life myth/legends counterpart and connect it to touhou lore would be a really interesting approach.
Good video. But you gotta clarify the They are canon, they are the same universe and events. If anything contradicts with the windows games is just retcon. Is not like the windows game are safe of contradictions either
I have allways wondered if any of the PC98 characters actually died after a battle because of not having the spellcard rules. I mean Rika literally explodes in the extra stage of SoEW but i mean they break the 4th wall on that one so should it be considered actually cannon? The other character that looks like actually dies is Yuki in Mima campaing from Mystic Square, but maybe im just exagerating the dialogue.

I thought Yukari/the sages enforced the spell card rules? If it was reimu nobody would obey, but a force (or group of forces) such as the sages would be enough to cause obedience. This is just what I was told by a few people, but it makes more sense then Reimu doing it
The story...kinda does not exist, tbh. If I had to pin a specific story onto PC98, then it would be the passive story of Mima(minus 4 where she chills, lol. Maybe she's coping after Marisa stopped associating), at the end of which she just calls it quits and we may as well assume she passed on after the end of TH5. In windows, I may as well not even try because despite there being this huge causality chain after 10 that went on for like 7 or so more games, there really is no singular plotline or character to unify the majority of games. It's literally just "random bs happens, the incident resolvers move out until the final boss got bonked on the head" and that's all she wrote. Even the grander lore surrounding Gensokyo is not exactly carrying this bunch of games because it can largely be condensed to "Yukari and Okina did the physical thing, Kasen did the logistical and presumably social thing, nobody remembers 4th sage and Hakurei Shrine keeps the balance".
Gotta love that Reimu is strong enough to intimidate everyone in Gensokyo to nerf themselves and avoid ending the world.
Haha, she's Gensokyo's final boss!
why do i hear boss music- *disintegrates*
Gensokyo is a haven for Youkai, they themselves would be stupid to try and destroy it.
I think it's more that than Reimu herself being intimidating.
