  • In recent years, China has been the largest producer of antimony in the world, accounting for more than 80% of global output. However, China has finally announced a ban on the export of antimony, effective from September 15, 2024. This decision has caused immediate concern in the United States, as it relies heavily on Chinese imports to meet its demand for antimony. The impact of China's antimony export ban on the US military could be significant. As mentioned earlier, antimony is a critical component in military-grade batteries, explosives, armor-piercing ammunition, laser weapons, and radar systems. The US Department of Defense has already identified antimony as a strategic and critical material, essential for national security and defense.
    The inability to ensure a reliable supply of antimony for military systems could have significant strategic implications. It could force US military planners to reconsider operational strategies, limit the flexibility of forces operating far from logistical support, and potentially compromise the effectiveness of military operations. Moreover, the reliance on critical materials like antimony highlights the importance of securing robust and diversified supply chains to ensure national security and military readiness. Antimony is considered a critical mineral due to its vital role in military and high-tech applications. By controlling the supply of antimony, China can ensure that its domestic industries, including the military sector, have a stable and secure source of this material. Limiting exports can also be a way to maintain a strategic reserve of antimony for national security purposes. Do you think that the US will suffer due to the antimony ban from China? What can the US possibly do in order to circumvent the situation? Please share your thoughts down in the comment below. Thank you for watching! 🤝

    The US is imposing tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, wind turbines, solar panels, batteries, steel, and aluminum to reduce its dependency on China. Meanwhile, China is aiding the US in this effort by restricting the sale of rare earth elements, gallium, germanium, and antimony. It's a win-win outcome.

    without all these rare earth materials the US will suffer set back in their military growth in fact their military manufacturing plant is stuck without this critical minerals while China is moving at a very fast pace in building their spacecrafts military planes submarines aircraft carrier and their hyper sonic missiles ! Even if the US can get hold of these materials it is not enough to continue to produce their military hardware.

    • @davidgmaloof
      @davidgmaloof 11 дней назад

      100% of the rare earth minerals from China were once produced in the US, and they will be again. China is cheap, but it's not unique.

      So you think China hasn't thought of that before making that decision.
      China has approximately $3 billion dollars a month going into their coffers thru exports so they're not desperate.
