A rather interesting premise for an alternate timeline/society
Aw fuck yeah, keep these coming. I used to watch this show on TV as a kid and tried to rewatch it recently, but it was just a bit too bad. I'm still interested in what kinds of storylines they came up with though... so this is a good way to watch it without watching it.
Hello I'm The Alternate Historian. I remember Sliders so you don't have to.
@@TheAlternateHistorian You do important work.
@@TheAlternateHistorian Thank you
I always imagined Star Trek's "Parrises squares" was like this.
2:51 Ah smoking man!
I did like this episode...I wonder why this SMART world didn't take control of the sliding tech...they could have been the world that would have opposed the Mags
Ignoring the fact that the sliding tech invented by alt-Quinn was a hoax, I'm assuming that the reverence that this world has for intellectuals means that governments stepping in and seizing new tech is politically infeasible. They might give generous research grants, but otherwise they aren't going to create a new Manhattan Project to discover how to travel the multiverse.
@@TheAlternateHistorian understood...
They never invented it in this dimension.
This one was pretty memorable. Great analysis
Hey, do you remember that old TV show with Jerry O'Connell? The one where they can go between parallel timelines?
O you're definitely getting a block. :-P
I was looking for a gif of Quinn's opponent answering "Infinite dimensions" and led me here!
Only recently recently realized I had missed this one. I'm guessing you decided to abandon this series given the time since this last episode. It's a shame, I had started watching Sliders back when it first came out, but ended up falling off around episode 4 or 5. This has been a nice way to get a read on what I missed
Goodday
