I was there in 1987, somewhere up front near the stage. Wonderful concert of Kenny G. His first in the Netherlands. Just getting popular. That location was a blessing because, after Kenny G, George Benson's show was up...
Kenny G is just Unbelievable and his Band! Totally Unbelievable in 1987 and TODAY Crazy Talented! Luv his Talent THE GREATEST SAX Artist for sure with that Unique Sound oF his SAX! Luv it ...this TALENT is Just Crazy!
Damn! Anyone that knocks Kenny G as a player not his music is nuts or ignorant. He’s a virtuoso. As a player for 30 years, Berklee grad, that’s studied under George Garzone, Dino Gavoni, and a friend of Jaleel Shaw and other amazing saxophonists...the runs around 32 minutes, where a fast up and down multi note trill run adds in this beating root note...shit.
People hate on this man for some stupid reason. He's one the best to ever pick up those horns!!! And he kept his head while they were messing up his sound! He's BADD! Ive had soundmen do that to me before. It makes you pretty mad. Gotta just keep going!
They didn't turn his horn up until like a minute into that song! He didn't let it shake him up! They did it a couple of times. Soundman should have been reprimanded bro! Musicians go through a lot of silly politics. He kept his head though!
Pat Metheny rips him every chance he gets. Which, is strange in a way, because Pat sees himself as superior to the likes of Mr. G, and apparently 95% of the population, so why would he even bother? Because k.g. was famous? Rich? And Pat was respected. I never liked Kenny G whatsoever, but after hearing Pat demean him so, I like K.G. better as a human, I think.
Metheny would never have said a word about Kenny G had Kenny not overdubbed himself over a Louis Armstrong track and released it - an absurdly presumptuous and arrogant maneuver. Never mind the quality of Kenny's playing - that had little to do with it.
This sounds absolutely amazing. 1980's definitely seemed like the peak points to the smooth jazz and r&b/soul music periods

Wow .. Amazing sounds
Once the engineers stopped playing with the sound and turned back into professionals!
Kenny G is amazing Artist
Wow what a great bass solo slap from Vail Johnson
Kenny doesn't take the whole stage just for himself, he makes plenty of room for his musicians!. very nice !
Mesmo com a falta de respeito por parte dos técnicos de som desse show, Kenny G toca nossos corações. Kenny merece todo o respeito.
I was at that show with my mother. Loved it then. A great band too!

They are jealous because he earns more money in one month than they earn in 10 years .

Surely Kenny was loved in the Netherlands. Not long ago saw a truck marked Holland in Ohio.

The sound of the shopping mall...
Did your dad tell you to write that ?
@@jonnobloggs8642 Of course!
the sound engineer is having a little bit problem over time XD
Sure was! You don't mess with the sound. It kills most artists concentration! Not this guy though! True Pro!
Does anyone know the name of the piece played first, just before Midnight Motion?
The shuffle. One of my personal favorites
O melhor saxofonista de todos
(JAZZ!MUSIC)! GREAT! (KG)! THE! (JAZZ!MUSIC)! CLASS! I! (MADE)! THIS! (RULES)! NOW! YOU! KNOW! THE! ORIGINAL! (JAZZ!MAN)! BLACK!MAN! 🙂*MIKE! SPENCE! HA! HA! HA!

I don't blame Pat. He's a real musician, and G is a cheap imitation of a musician.
La mezcla es horrible!! Jamas habia escuchado un concierto de Jazz con tantos problemas de sonido, sobretodo al comienzo... :(
Shows how good this saxophonist and band really are! Sound engineers don't mess with him like that now I bet! This was early in his career!

This is too schmucky to be even smooth jazz. This is not even remotely jazz.
