After seeing the team goalie stats, it makes you wonder how the Sens got as many wins as they did! All the fans wanted last year was average goaltending, and haven't seen that since Craig Anderson was let go. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes until 30 for some to hit their stride. They might have to go with 3 next year.

The whole Pillzy thinking Halliday was not a disher bit just keeps getting better. At this rate, we'll still be talking about it 10 years from now because this kid will never stop dishing.

Totally agree with Pillzy. Korpi let in goals at the worst possible times. The opposite of Grant Fuhr. I would also say that goals against really early in games qualify as bad timing no doubt lol

In a perfect world I'd love to move Korpi and keep Forsy as he's played some amazing games for the Sens and I'd like to see what he can do after a summer of training instead of rehabbing but agree he's probably the one thats gone. Soggy still not nearly ready enough for the NHL

12:44 I think Matt Crookshank got to be the top Candidate to land a spot from training camp

No way Gruden can be hired for the Ottawa Senators bench for so many reasons. Mainly that Belleville outplayed the Marlies that entire series and that game 2 was just so whacky and weird Marlies still got a lot of bounces and won (fair enough), but also what would that say to David Bell he just outcoached Gruden and beat him with a less experienced younger team and as a less experienced coach at the higher levels of hockey. It would be a slap in the face to the fantastic work David Bell has done with the Belleville Sens just getting them into the playoffs with all the adversity they faced and then beating Gruden's team. It would be bad for the organizational morale of the coaches

    • @johnnyenglish9622

      May'be Ottawa should hire Bell.

@johnnyenglish9622 need someone with more experience if he was in the organization when DJ was hired would've loved if they gave him a shit but maybe down the line he ends up on the bench I would like that

Seeing how much Leafs keep struggling post-season, I'm now ok that the Sens haven't made the playoffs in a while, cause when they do get in (I have a good feeling about next season for various reasons), they'll be dominant and win that same year!

Pierre Dorion owes all Sens Fans an apology for his Long-term signing of Korpisalo. Any shots of Four-pi's masks from years past? Is Youpi available to goaltend?

Sens traded first round pick to acquire Chychrun, Arizona selects D But, but could have selected Zach Benson. Senators pressured by the media and "some" of their fan base to make that trade and give up their first round pick.

  • @edpottinger849
    @edpottinger849 20 дней назад

Someone was trying to tell me that there isn't any good prospects in Ottawa. They won their first playoff series, and are looking for more, the Marlies.
I would look at the players Arizona, now Salt Lake City, has.
The 4 players I think could help are Jusso Valimaki,Sean Durzi,Liam OBrien and Connor Ingram.
Both Chychrun and Norris could go to Salt Lake City,if your willing to sacrifice JBD.A first along with the players mentioned to Ottawa
That's 2 right shot d men,a 3rd line to fourth line center or winger, and a back up goalie in Connor Ingram.
Move Forsberg,Kubalik,Joseph and Kastellic for a top line center. One of Edmontons top centers,or Vancouver,Miller or Lindholm.

A goalie in our beer league says that as you get older it is harder for the goalies to pick up those long shots. I think Korpi needs glasses.

I think he’ll bounce back but only to the tune of .905

Ya, the broadcasters lose out on a paycheque too..... inve$ted interest in more playoff games for these guys. Can't blame them.
If the Sens drop position in the draft, they'll trade down further.

If anyone is curious, the rumour is that Boko made a comment about Clifford’s dead son back in game 2. I have no idea if that’s true or not. If it IS true, Boko would be a massive pos. But I can’t imagine waiting until the handshake line after the next game if someone said something that heinous. So that makes me think that’s a bogus rumour.

I think Korpi was in a mental deficit all year. When Gus left he commented on the the mental toll of not knowing what team is going to show up in front of you each game. Korpi definitely experienced that, at the start of the year it was one defensive breakdown in front of him after another. Combine that with the pressure of playing for a new team with high expectations in a Canadian market and being a young family moving to a new country. I think he has the pedigree to bounce back next year as long as he has a full mental reset this summer and comes to camp with a fresh perspective. The core will be 1 year older, Sens will have a proper coach/GM all season, no punishments from the league, no changing ownership, his family will have established themselves in the city, etc. so there will be no distractions/excuses.
For Forsberg, I believe he did the best he can do this year. The guy doesn't have an NHL pedigree so I don't think he can be any better next year than he was this year. Would much much much rather see the Sens pay some random dude (e.g. Fla with Alex Lyon, VGK with Logan Thompson) to backup for less than half of Forsberg's current contract. If it works out, great you've got a goalie that can steal games for cheap. If not, he's a guy that's easy to get rid of and you can try again with another guy.

A big Nooo…!!! to having Gruden as head coach of the Senators .

Goals above expected. They are 50% worse than the the 2nd worse team. 50%!!! It’s not even close. Our goaltending was the worst. If their contracts were up, there would be no way either of them would be coming back. But it sure sounds like they’re laying the groundwork to keep Korpisalo. I hate that.

Sens goalie situation reminds me of people who voted for Trudeau. You put a substitute drama teacher, with no legal or business expertise to run a country and can't figure out why the country is buried in inflation, debt and taxes.
The Sens bring in two career backup goalies and can't figure out why they don't have a legitimate starter. Odd but next year will be better.
