Hmm... Soul Reapers technically get their powers granted by their swords, and not by an oath, so I think Warlock would be more appropriate for that. His Hollow powers were also something he got himself and not inherited, (and technically are the same as his Soul Reaper powers...). And Fullbring was passed down to him because his mother was attacked by a Hollow, so shouldn't that also be a Sorcerer? At least lore wise.
@@mrmastaofdesasta6994 I was going mostly on mechanics and less of like "where did his powers actually come from?". i.e. fullbring lets him summon a sword i.e. hexblade, Quincy and hollow powers involve a lot of blasting i.e. sorc, and soul reapers are kinda Paladins lore wise and that just works out mechanically as well
Most interesting back story, yeah ichigo only has a soul reaper for a father, a quincy mother in the manga, that he got powers from as she got eaten by a hollow, because he was trying to save a "woman" from drowning, his life was also controlled and monitored since he was born by a psychopath who did all this because he knew that ichigo was the only one who could challenge/kill him

Shadow blade spell seems like a perfect representation of Ichigo's bankai considering it's smaller than his base weapon and does more damage. 2nd comment to boost the algorithm

Ironically, Ichigo scores in the top 10 best graded students at the beginning of the series; not sure if that persisted to the end, but if he got a career involving medicine he'd have to be pretty smart, right?

I'm still trying to get into Bleach so I don't know the full context of the circumstances behind the times he learned these moves. They seemed to be things he learns later on in the manga, at least that's what I assume since they showed manga panels.

From the Hoe's Mad to Feed the Algorithm squad of the internet. It's really weird how people pretend that plot armor, having a bunch of super powers, filler episodes and unnecessary flashbacks aren't a thing in any of the other big shounen titles and just as egregious and sometimes even more so in other series. Naruto's anime had to be rebranded because they pumped out a year of straight filler but nobody seems to talk about that. Any way, good job on the build Tulok, as somebody who grew up with Bleach and has nostalgia for it I'm glad to see it represented. Keep up the good work!
Except, no, the Shippuden subtitle started from the Manga and went out from there because the tone and story structure was so different. And Bleach deserves all the hate it gets, much as I love it, because you'll never find another anime that inserted a filler arc directly before the climactic confrontation in the most important arc. There was filler right before the Fake Karakura arc. It would be like having filler between The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant and Pain's Assault on Konoha.
Going Paladin first actually makes a ton of sense. Ichigo doesn't start his Soul Reaper career with Zangetsu. He just has a greatsword that he swings around with a lot of strength. It isn't until he "gains" several levels through training that Zangetsu reveals himself and from that point on he gets stronger abilities with it.

For Squall, there’s an FFXIV homebrew class called gunbreaker which is literally a gunblade class. But I’m not entirely sure how I would try and build Squall “legally”. Maybe do something similar to the Terra(Kingdom Hearts) build because iirc, Squall uses his Gunblade 2 handed in FFVIII but then we see in Dissidia (not Opera Omnia) that he uses it 1 handed. Then we need to consider the fact that Squall is also able use magic thanks to the draw and junction system of FFVIII (and in Dissidia NT, he can use Ultima). Idk any ideas?
@@Wayfinder137 considering that in the game you have to Junction the guardian forces just to be able to use magic I think a warlock using a bastard blade would be a good start but I don't know what to do from there, but then again, you draw magic from enemies in the game, so don't know how you'd translate that into dnd. Don't know what I do about the "gun" part of the gunblade, but considering that you can't actually shoot with it, it could be an enchanted blade that does a bit of force damage, or whatever you would translate causing vibrations as the sword hit boosting damage to in D&D.
Zero I think there are a couple of spells you could do that somewhat simulates the draw function. One that immediately comes to mind is absorb elements which lets you gain resistance to an elemental attack as a reaction and on the next melee attack, you can do extra damage based on the element absorbed. As for the gun part of the blade, maybe the booming blade cantrip? It deals thunder damage if an enemy willingly moves on their turn but at higher levels, you do thunder damage anyways and the extra thunder damage from then moving is just a bonus. But I think these would require some multi classing for those 2 spells. Maybe a dip into sorcerer? So possibly a Paladin/Sorcerer multi class? Paladin for the guardian forces(aka the deity you worship/made an oath with) and sorcerer for the spell casting and the actual gun part of gunblade
@@Wayfinder137 that could work, there are other minor things from the game that aren't as important to work out, like how both Squall and Seifer's hit chance is so high that even blinded they can't miss with a physical attack, or an important part of the plot (Junctioning GFs causes memory loss eventually) but this seems like a pretty good start.
I'd have swapped his wisdom and Int. It still isn't accurate because he's more of a "damn the rules and consequences" and not "I can't understand the rules and consequences" kinda person. 10 Int still isn't accurate because he's supposed to be one of the smartest in his class, but hey. It's an anime build, what are you gonna do? Not everything can be 20

@@petrsevcik5044 True enough but really the only way to work Ichigo's Quincy side in is with a few levels of Sorcerer. Since Quincy are both born with their abilities and said abilities can be unstable unless properly trained. And I am not sure how to work Sorcerer into this build and flavor it Quincy style.
@@clothar23 He doesn't realy use his Quincy powers for anything anyway, except for the spoiler (I guess) sword. I would say take the Magic Initiate feat and take the Shadow Blade spell here, but it's 2nd level spell and there's no 1st level or cantrip spell that creates a weapon (or I missed it). Btw, I only realised after writing the first part, that since we're talking about Ichigo being Quincy, we're already in manga only teritory, so the second Zangetsu isn't realy a spoiler.

These videos are so much fun. I made this build with a slight alteration to the stats. My friends and I even discussed how we're gonna incorporate the Hollow Mask and Bankai forms (one incomplete Bankai with a chance to lose control and one perfected Bankai) into the moveset. I hope to see a build on Ragna the Bloodedge or Frieza soon.

I would argue that doing well in algebra is not a sign of real world intelligence. After all did any of us actually put anything we learned in High school to good use. Because I don't know about you but when I started my path to my Masters in Mechanical Engineering I realised I had learned jack shit in high school of any worth.
I feel like Ichigo would be a Rune Knight. Paladin clashes with a lot of his stuff. He's never been a healer, his spiritual energy control is horrible so he can't help friends, his hollow mask would negate any holy buffs, his midranged attacks are dark based. On the other hand his abilities need items/runes to work like his soul badge, soul candy, soul glove, hollow mask, etc. When Ichigo starts using light magic and healing hand it's removing away from a strict RP build and more towards just a paladin build because those are bread and butter paladin abilities; rather than asking if it's something he'd actually use and make sense from a lore standpoint.
Yeah, but this is specifically a D&D build, and Rune Knight is a class exclusive to Pathfinder, if I'm not mistaken. However, a Gray Guard would fit Ichigo more than Paladin.
@@esteban8471 Rune Knight was added as a Fighter Sub Class October 2019. So it's still a D&D build. Grey Guard are pretty much the Space Marines of D&D. Many shinigami captains could be Grey Guard, but Ichigo doesn't fit it as well. Really if a group is doing anime character RP, it would probably benefit the group to just come up with a custom class sheet. Use pre-made sheets as guides to keep balance and keep the character and lore in mind. Bleach characters just have a lot of problems fitting into any single class, and that so many people just say paladin and call it a day. You gotta ask yourself are you doing an RP of a Paladin named Ichigo, or are you doing an RP of Ichigo from Bleach, because Ichigo from Bleach isn't using Healing hand or Divine Smite.
@@hardcorehunter7162 To think this could be solved if Ichigo bothered learning Kido. Although that might actually make the build even more complex. Although now I get where you're coming from regarding the RP thing, which is sorta why I made my own character to avoid this problem. The character I'm making for a future campaign is a Fallen Aasimar Gray Guard/Warlock who grew up hearing stories of Ichigo and strives to follow his example, although he struggles because the goddess he serves (Mystra) and his Hexblade Patron cannot get along. Also, on a completely unrelated note, nice profile picture. Charming, which is kind of ironic given who it is.
Sorry, but since this build doesn’t have a way to burn all your levels in order to kill the strongest enemy in the game, and then find a secret Macguffin that lets you gain them all back, I’m afraid it’s not very accurate to the show.
Imagine convincing the DM to let you perform a D&D equivalent of Mugetsu. Roll 5 d100 (assuming you're using the Roll20 website) and once the attack is done, your HP, AC, and Modifiers all drop to one.
Depends on how far you are trying to go into the anime. I, personally, would not want my Ichigo build to go past ep 57, because trying to fit bankai is enough of a pain.
Warsorcadin is the ultimate burst damage build though as you can quicken hold person to get a guaranteed crit on your eldritch smite divine smite weapon damage combo.
@@euandunbar8050 Except that you sacrifice spell levels due to level spread which reduces your smite damage and passive abilities. And Hold Person is concentration and if you want to go nova with bladelock/paladin, then you really want to use the smite spells which are also concentration. Also MAD with stat allocation. If you want hold person, get a teammate to do it for you. If you want to dip into sorcerer, a better tactic is to use a quickened spell to cast scorching ray with a warlock slot as a bonus action. It will deal higher raw damage, although it meshes less well with a dedicated support than focusing on the smites and you lose out on a lot of very valuable passives, spells known and other features doing that.
@@nevisysbryd7450 The damage you would get from just adding in a smite spell or scorching ray kind of pales in comparison to doubling all of the weapon damage, divine smite damage and eldritch smite damage though. not to mention that the sorceror gains spell slots at a far quicker level than the paladin, and unlike warlock gives you a whole ton more than the 2 you end up with from straight warlock levels (And it stacks on top of 3 paladin levels worth of spells unlike pact magic slots.) The whole point of of the warsorcadin is that you have 1 primary stat, and one that need to be at 13, which is really easy with standard scores, point buy or rolling. Not to mention that a quickened spell agonising blast eldritch blast would completely out compete scorching ray anyway by level 11 and do almost the same at level 5 (without using a spell slot) unless you want to start wasting higher level slots for sub par damage output on the 2 up scaling for scorching ray. The hold person not only doubles your damage, but also team damage, and puts them out of commission for a round, and if your making a self sufficient build then it is the best option for a warsorcadin.
Having an anime protagonist on your side is actually pretty bad for you, either you are his best friend who is gonna die to give him a power boost, or betray them, hell sometimes both

@@blablibub Kenpachi would be a straight classed Barbarian. Wouldn't make sense without his Strength and Con exceeding the natural limit through shear force of will. Race, subclass, and feat choice is where it gets a bit tough to determine.
I literally homebrewed Bleach soul reapers as a class to implement them into my campaign or if my players want to be a soul reaper, I also stayed as true to the soul reapers from the anime as I could and overall I think I did pretty good with the class.
All that holyness and hard to killness certainly plays into him being part Quincy (actually just clean half with the other half being unique Vizard and Fullbringer is more a status not a species since only the two sub Reapers aren't considered fully human in that group), Old Man Zangetsu giving those vein skills constantly from the start instead of once against Kenny and then finally in the last arc. Having multiple abilities do similar things does fit, combine jump and run and show them hybrid soul powers. Also swapping Wisdom and intelligence, or taking a risk in rolling to get better and truly accurate stats, would fit the build and the character more, he may be among the best in his class and becomes a teacher and kinda doctor but he mainly just bonks with raw power and the basic techniques since when you got all that raw power throw out thinking too hard and win. Other shounen protags fit the higher wisdom than intelligence mold but Ichigo breaks that, most suck at school and become geniuses in battle while Ichigo shows better skill in school than planning... That's Cuz Uryu's job.
I would like to eventually see a Black Canary (Dinah Lance) build, but since we have Victor Stone (Cyborg), Garfield Logan (Beast Boy), Raven, and Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing), we should probably finish off the original Titans with Koriand'rs/ Kori Anders (Starfire).
Ichigo’s Soul Reaper Build: Paladin might work, but Eldritch Knight seems more accurate. Fighter with a Sword + Magic. Since Soul Reapers are Sword + Magic. You could probably also do Rune Knight for the ultimate spellsword build. Ichigo’s Hollow powers are like a Sorcerer. Most hollow attacks resemble magic. For example, the delayed blast fireball reminds me of a Cero. Ichigo’s Fullbringer powers are like Hexblade Warlock. Quincy powers fit Arcane Archer (Fighter Subclass) the best, in my opinion. Since they use bows + magic arrows which always reminded me of a Quincy.
Neato, you went in a totally different direction than I would have; my plan was Hexblade Warlock for the sword skills and eldritch blast. And then multi class into barabarian like you said but not because he is angry, but rather to flavor the hollow mask he uses as the rages, with the time limit being as it is and the extra powers it just spoke to me. But I like this idea, soul reapers do feel like paladins.
Sadly Hassan-i Sabbah doesn't have a whole lot of video footage to go off with. The idea IS brilliant, but action scenes also provide a lot of info (when in practice). And unless Tulok plays FGO (which I don't think he will), all of the numbers and crit stars and whatever aren't gonna help. Reality is often disappointing

I’d personally say make Ichigo a hexblade, since technically all of his enhanced strength and speed comes from his spiritual energy , which is best represented as charisma. Thus, giving him a hexblade would let him power his sword through charisma. Also, I feel like Zangetsu fits the archetypes of a hexblade patron just as well as that of an undying if not better
I feel like you could easily homebrew an Ichigo class by taking a Pact of the Blade Warlock, trade your spellcasting, apart from Eldritch Blast, for a higher Hit Die and extended duration of your Pact weapon and different stages. Then reflavor Eldritch Blast as Getsuga Tensho, and you're basically done. At least for the Shinigami part of his powers...

Am I the only one wanting Tulok to make a side series where he does a redux on certain builds that could technically be done better and/or more accurate to their flavor? I kinda feel like if he did, he'd probably redo Ichigo and have him be a Variant Human Watchers Paladin 9/Undead Warlock 11 for that sweet Otherworldly Form spell (Yes, it's Unearthed Arcana, I don't care; it's Vasto Lorde the spell, dammit).

Third comment, I hope this how boosting the algorithm works. An Idea for an Ichigo build I had was Hexblade 5 (for pact weapon and eldritch smite) and Zealot Barbarian 15 (for extra damage when raging and being unkillable/easy to revive), leaning more into the hollow stuff and flavouring rages as hollow taking control, but I really like your build because it actually has more than 2 smites. @@joelsasmad Definetly NOT Eldritch knight, he doesn't wear armour and his 2 spells are making arrows and moving fast, He's basically a Bow Kensei. Also he doesn't make the bow, he needs to carry it, its just in compact form. A bag of holding would make more sense for it.
Episode #185 of the Fire Emblem stats: Ichigo Kurosaki. Ichigo's good with swords, axes (which is pretty close to his sword), and both types of magic (soul magic is a pretty gray area). He's bad with flight and riding since he doesn't use them. His speed, attack, and magic are his highest stats while resistance and luck are his lowest.
Eh, two more levels of warlock would have given you the ability to add your Charisma to your weapon strikes on top of your strength/charisma already being used. Ichigo is knows for putting his blade waves ON his sword like a sheath and then hitting people with it, so it works.
Seeing this, I suddenly realize I really would love to see an Ishida/Quincy build at some point! Not my favorite character by a long shot, but definitely the build I'd most like to see done. It's a build that I feel should be entirely possible, but I have no idea how...
And if you want to have some of the sillier stuff in animation that isn't explicitly anime, I keep suggesting Dave the Barbarian and mention several of its characters. Two characters I didn't mention for builds were The Dark Lord Chuckles the Silly Piggy, and I'm aware that name is a mouthful, and Ned Frischman. I didn't mention them as potential builds for a few reasons. Ned will be addressed first, Ned has access to a rather silly artifact level item that allows him to do time shenanigans but he's a dork from the 1990s and can't really do anything else so building Ned in D&D would be a bit of a waste since all the stuff for time travel is high-level, which means whatever is used to build Ned will likely be more competent and capable than him. And as much fun as it probably would be to build The Dark Lord Chuckles the Silly Piggy, there's no official material for playing as an anthropomorphic pig, and last I checked, there's nothing in the Unearthed Arcana that could let you do anything like that either, also despite being very capable, Chuckles loses access to all his spellcasting when his spell focus, "the Mystic Amulet of Hog Swineborg," is removed from his hold, also, despite being very smart Chuckles tends to not think most of his plans through properly or sets up for them so far in advance he almost forgets about them when they're triggered. Also, despite being an "actual evil lord," he usually doesn't have minions on hand but is pretty good at convincing others to follow his lead, but he still sucks at sharing the limelight with other villains, often to his own detriment. That all said, I still want to see a Gobata from That Time I Reincarnated as a Slime get built, but without the rest of the core cast, including our Slimy Boy, to build as well he might feel like his having something miss out on him. As much as I would love to see Shion or Souske get builds, there's no official material or UA material for playing as an ogre, evolved into Kijin or not, and to build Rimuru you'll probably need to get the Juiblixian race supplement on DM's Guild, then basically make sure you're building everything properly in the Homebrew section on D&D Beyond because that supplement isn't included in the material you can get there.

I would say hes 2 sorcerer subclasses for Quincy and Hollow powers, Paladin for soul reaper powers, and hexblade warlock for fullbring

Most interesting back story, yeah ichigo only has a soul reaper for a father, a quincy mother in the manga, that he got powers from as she got eaten by a hollow, because he was trying to save a "woman" from drowning, his life was also controlled and monitored since he was born by a psychopath who did all this because he knew that ichigo was the only one who could challenge/kill him

I'm still trying to get into Bleach so I don't know the full context of the circumstances behind the times he learned these moves. They seemed to be things he learns later on in the manga, at least that's what I assume since they showed manga panels.

It's really weird how people pretend that plot armor, having a bunch of super powers, filler episodes and unnecessary flashbacks aren't a thing in any of the other big shounen titles and just as egregious and sometimes even more so in other series. Naruto's anime had to be rebranded because they pumped out a year of straight filler but nobody seems to talk about that.
Any way, good job on the build Tulok, as somebody who grew up with Bleach and has nostalgia for it I'm glad to see it represented. Keep up the good work!
Except, no, the Shippuden subtitle started from the Manga and went out from there because the tone and story structure was so different. And Bleach deserves all the hate it gets, much as I love it, because you'll never find another anime that inserted a filler arc directly before the climactic confrontation in the most important arc. There was filler right before the Fake Karakura arc. It would be like having filler between The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant and Pain's Assault on Konoha.

Going Paladin first actually makes a ton of sense. Ichigo doesn't start his Soul Reaper career with Zangetsu. He just has a greatsword that he swings around with a lot of strength. It isn't until he "gains" several levels through training that Zangetsu reveals himself and from that point on he gets stronger abilities with it.

Ainz. Like Overlord Ainz. Revenant Elf (for reasons I will explain) 20 levels of Bladesinger Wizard (him using bladesong could be reflavored as him doing perfect warrior.) If you don't care about doing the Perfect Warrior thing then just 20 levels of Evocation Wizard, Revenant Human
For Squall, there’s an FFXIV homebrew class called gunbreaker which is literally a gunblade class. But I’m not entirely sure how I would try and build Squall “legally”.
Maybe do something similar to the Terra(Kingdom Hearts) build because iirc, Squall uses his Gunblade 2 handed in FFVIII but then we see in Dissidia (not Opera Omnia) that he uses it 1 handed. Then we need to consider the fact that Squall is also able use magic thanks to the draw and junction system of FFVIII (and in Dissidia NT, he can use Ultima). Idk any ideas?
@@Wayfinder137 considering that in the game you have to Junction the guardian forces just to be able to use magic I think a warlock using a bastard blade would be a good start but I don't know what to do from there, but then again, you draw magic from enemies in the game, so don't know how you'd translate that into dnd. Don't know what I do about the "gun" part of the gunblade, but considering that you can't actually shoot with it, it could be an enchanted blade that does a bit of force damage, or whatever you would translate causing vibrations as the sword hit boosting damage to in D&D.
Zero I think there are a couple of spells you could do that somewhat simulates the draw function. One that immediately comes to mind is absorb elements which lets you gain resistance to an elemental attack as a reaction and on the next melee attack, you can do extra damage based on the element absorbed.
As for the gun part of the blade, maybe the booming blade cantrip? It deals thunder damage if an enemy willingly moves on their turn but at higher levels, you do thunder damage anyways and the extra thunder damage from then moving is just a bonus.
But I think these would require some multi classing for those 2 spells. Maybe a dip into sorcerer? So possibly a Paladin/Sorcerer multi class? Paladin for the guardian forces(aka the deity you worship/made an oath with) and sorcerer for the spell casting and the actual gun part of gunblade
@@Wayfinder137 that could work, there are other minor things from the game that aren't as important to work out, like how both Squall and Seifer's hit chance is so high that even blinded they can't miss with a physical attack, or an important part of the plot (Junctioning GFs causes memory loss eventually) but this seems like a pretty good start.

@@petrsevcik5044 True enough but really the only way to work Ichigo's Quincy side in is with a few levels of Sorcerer. Since Quincy are both born with their abilities and said abilities can be unstable unless properly trained.
And I am not sure how to work Sorcerer into this build and flavor it Quincy style.
@@clothar23 He doesn't realy use his Quincy powers for anything anyway, except for the spoiler (I guess) sword. I would say take the Magic Initiate feat and take the Shadow Blade spell here, but it's 2nd level spell and there's no 1st level or cantrip spell that creates a weapon (or I missed it).
Btw, I only realised after writing the first part, that since we're talking about Ichigo being Quincy, we're already in manga only teritory, so the second Zangetsu isn't realy a spoiler.
Yeah, this *feels* so anime, random hollow hesitate to attack you, save people from illusions and mind control, make people know the right expression to tell you, defy death when you should die, This is your best work yet!

These videos are so much fun. I made this build with a slight alteration to the stats. My friends and I even discussed how we're gonna incorporate the Hollow Mask and Bankai forms (one incomplete Bankai with a chance to lose control and one perfected Bankai) into the moveset. I hope to see a build on Ragna the Bloodedge or Frieza soon.

I feel like Ichigo would be a Rune Knight. Paladin clashes with a lot of his stuff. He's never been a healer, his spiritual energy control is horrible so he can't help friends, his hollow mask would negate any holy buffs, his midranged attacks are dark based. On the other hand his abilities need items/runes to work like his soul badge, soul candy, soul glove, hollow mask, etc. When Ichigo starts using light magic and healing hand it's removing away from a strict RP build and more towards just a paladin build because those are bread and butter paladin abilities; rather than asking if it's something he'd actually use and make sense from a lore standpoint.
Yeah, but this is specifically a D&D build, and Rune Knight is a class exclusive to Pathfinder, if I'm not mistaken. However, a Gray Guard would fit Ichigo more than Paladin.
@@esteban8471 Rune Knight was added as a Fighter Sub Class October 2019. So it's still a D&D build. Grey Guard are pretty much the Space Marines of D&D. Many shinigami captains could be Grey Guard, but Ichigo doesn't fit it as well. Really if a group is doing anime character RP, it would probably benefit the group to just come up with a custom class sheet. Use pre-made sheets as guides to keep balance and keep the character and lore in mind. Bleach characters just have a lot of problems fitting into any single class, and that so many people just say paladin and call it a day. You gotta ask yourself are you doing an RP of a Paladin named Ichigo, or are you doing an RP of Ichigo from Bleach, because Ichigo from Bleach isn't using Healing hand or Divine Smite.
@@hardcorehunter7162 To think this could be solved if Ichigo bothered learning Kido. Although that might actually make the build even more complex. Although now I get where you're coming from regarding the RP thing, which is sorta why I made my own character to avoid this problem.
The character I'm making for a future campaign is a Fallen Aasimar Gray Guard/Warlock who grew up hearing stories of Ichigo and strives to follow his example, although he struggles because the goddess he serves (Mystra) and his Hexblade Patron cannot get along.
Also, on a completely unrelated note, nice profile picture. Charming, which is kind of ironic given who it is.

Sorry, but since this build doesn’t have a way to burn all your levels in order to kill the strongest enemy in the game, and then find a secret Macguffin that lets you gain them all back, I’m afraid it’s not very accurate to the show.

Imagine convincing the DM to let you perform a D&D equivalent of Mugetsu. Roll 5 d100 (assuming you're using the Roll20 website) and once the attack is done, your HP, AC, and Modifiers all drop to one.
Depends on how far you are trying to go into the anime. I, personally, would not want my Ichigo build to go past ep 57, because trying to fit bankai is enough of a pain.

Warsorcadin is the ultimate burst damage build though as you can quicken hold person to get a guaranteed crit on your eldritch smite divine smite weapon damage combo.

@@euandunbar8050 Except that you sacrifice spell levels due to level spread which reduces your smite damage and passive abilities. And Hold Person is concentration and if you want to go nova with bladelock/paladin, then you really want to use the smite spells which are also concentration. Also MAD with stat allocation.
If you want hold person, get a teammate to do it for you.
If you want to dip into sorcerer, a better tactic is to use a quickened spell to cast scorching ray with a warlock slot as a bonus action. It will deal higher raw damage, although it meshes less well with a dedicated support than focusing on the smites and you lose out on a lot of very valuable passives, spells known and other features doing that.
@@nevisysbryd7450 The damage you would get from just adding in a smite spell or scorching ray kind of pales in comparison to doubling all of the weapon damage, divine smite damage and eldritch smite damage though. not to mention that the sorceror gains spell slots at a far quicker level than the paladin, and unlike warlock gives you a whole ton more than the 2 you end up with from straight warlock levels (And it stacks on top of 3 paladin levels worth of spells unlike pact magic slots.) The whole point of of the warsorcadin is that you have 1 primary stat, and one that need to be at 13, which is really easy with standard scores, point buy or rolling.
Not to mention that a quickened spell agonising blast eldritch blast would completely out compete scorching ray anyway by level 11 and do almost the same at level 5 (without using a spell slot) unless you want to start wasting higher level slots for sub par damage output on the 2 up scaling for scorching ray.
The hold person not only doubles your damage, but also team damage, and puts them out of commission for a round, and if your making a self sufficient build then it is the best option for a warsorcadin.
Having an anime protagonist on your side is actually pretty bad for you, either you are his best friend who is gonna die to give him a power boost, or betray them, hell sometimes both

I literally homebrewed Bleach soul reapers as a class to implement them into my campaign or if my players want to be a soul reaper, I also stayed as true to the soul reapers from the anime as I could and overall I think I did pretty good with the class.
I'd be interested in seeing it if you had something available. Always looking for interesting ideas!
All that holyness and hard to killness certainly plays into him being part Quincy (actually just clean half with the other half being unique Vizard and Fullbringer is more a status not a species since only the two sub Reapers aren't considered fully human in that group), Old Man Zangetsu giving those vein skills constantly from the start instead of once against Kenny and then finally in the last arc. Having multiple abilities do similar things does fit, combine jump and run and show them hybrid soul powers.
Also swapping Wisdom and intelligence, or taking a risk in rolling to get better and truly accurate stats, would fit the build and the character more, he may be among the best in his class and becomes a teacher and kinda doctor but he mainly just bonks with raw power and the basic techniques since when you got all that raw power throw out thinking too hard and win. Other shounen protags fit the higher wisdom than intelligence mold but Ichigo breaks that, most suck at school and become geniuses in battle while Ichigo shows better skill in school than planning... That's Cuz Uryu's job.
I would like to eventually see a Black Canary (Dinah Lance) build, but since we have Victor Stone (Cyborg), Garfield Logan (Beast Boy), Raven, and Dick Grayson (Robin/Nightwing), we should probably finish off the original Titans with Koriand'rs/ Kori Anders (Starfire).
I'd love to see Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising adapted into a character. Maybe he could be a barbarian?

Ichigo’s Soul Reaper Build: Paladin might work, but Eldritch Knight seems more accurate. Fighter with a Sword + Magic. Since Soul Reapers are Sword + Magic. You could probably also do Rune Knight for the ultimate spellsword build.
Ichigo’s Hollow powers are like a Sorcerer. Most hollow attacks resemble magic. For example, the delayed blast fireball reminds me of a Cero.
Ichigo’s Fullbringer powers are like Hexblade Warlock.
Quincy powers fit Arcane Archer (Fighter Subclass) the best, in my opinion. Since they use bows + magic arrows which always reminded me of a Quincy.

Neato, you went in a totally different direction than I would have; my plan was Hexblade Warlock for the sword skills and eldritch blast. And then multi class into barabarian like you said but not because he is angry, but rather to flavor the hollow mask he uses as the rages, with the time limit being as it is and the extra powers it just spoke to me.
But I like this idea, soul reapers do feel like paladins.

Sadly Hassan-i Sabbah doesn't have a whole lot of video footage to go off with. The idea IS brilliant, but action scenes also provide a lot of info (when in practice). And unless Tulok plays FGO (which I don't think he will), all of the numbers and crit stars and whatever aren't gonna help.

I’d personally say make Ichigo a hexblade, since technically all of his enhanced strength and speed comes from his spiritual energy , which is best represented as charisma. Thus, giving him a hexblade would let him power his sword through charisma. Also, I feel like Zangetsu fits the archetypes of a hexblade patron just as well as that of an undying if not better
I think the fact he is part Hollow that makes him undying.

I feel like you could easily homebrew an Ichigo class by taking a Pact of the Blade Warlock, trade your spellcasting, apart from Eldritch Blast, for a higher Hit Die and extended duration of your Pact weapon and different stages. Then reflavor Eldritch Blast as Getsuga Tensho, and you're basically done. At least for the Shinigami part of his powers...

Am I the only one wanting Tulok to make a side series where he does a redux on certain builds that could technically be done better and/or more accurate to their flavor? I kinda feel like if he did, he'd probably redo Ichigo and have him be a Variant Human Watchers Paladin 9/Undead Warlock 11 for that sweet Otherworldly Form spell (Yes, it's Unearthed Arcana, I don't care; it's Vasto Lorde the spell, dammit).

An Idea for an Ichigo build I had was Hexblade 5 (for pact weapon and eldritch smite) and Zealot Barbarian 15 (for extra damage when raging and being unkillable/easy to revive), leaning more into the hollow stuff and flavouring rages as hollow taking control, but I really like your build because it actually has more than 2 smites. Thank you for the great and very nostalgia-inducing video.

@@joelsasmad Definetly NOT Eldritch knight, he doesn't wear armour and his 2 spells are making arrows and moving fast, He's basically a Bow Kensei.
Also he doesn't make the bow, he needs to carry it, its just in compact form. A bag of holding would make more sense for it.

Ichigo's good with swords, axes (which is pretty close to his sword), and both types of magic (soul magic is a pretty gray area). He's bad with flight and riding since he doesn't use them.
His speed, attack, and magic are his highest stats while resistance and luck are his lowest.

Eh, two more levels of warlock would have given you the ability to add your Charisma to your weapon strikes on top of your strength/charisma already being used. Ichigo is knows for putting his blade waves ON his sword like a sheath and then hitting people with it, so it works.
Seeing this, I suddenly realize I really would love to see an Ishida/Quincy build at some point! Not my favorite character by a long shot, but definitely the build I'd most like to see done. It's a build that I feel should be entirely possible, but I have no idea how...

And if you want to have some of the sillier stuff in animation that isn't explicitly anime, I keep suggesting Dave the Barbarian and mention several of its characters. Two characters I didn't mention for builds were The Dark Lord Chuckles the Silly Piggy, and I'm aware that name is a mouthful, and Ned Frischman. I didn't mention them as potential builds for a few reasons. Ned will be addressed first, Ned has access to a rather silly artifact level item that allows him to do time shenanigans but he's a dork from the 1990s and can't really do anything else so building Ned in D&D would be a bit of a waste since all the stuff for time travel is high-level, which means whatever is used to build Ned will likely be more competent and capable than him. And as much fun as it probably would be to build The Dark Lord Chuckles the Silly Piggy, there's no official material for playing as an anthropomorphic pig, and last I checked, there's nothing in the Unearthed Arcana that could let you do anything like that either, also despite being very capable, Chuckles loses access to all his spellcasting when his spell focus, "the Mystic Amulet of Hog Swineborg," is removed from his hold, also, despite being very smart Chuckles tends to not think most of his plans through properly or sets up for them so far in advance he almost forgets about them when they're triggered. Also, despite being an "actual evil lord," he usually doesn't have minions on hand but is pretty good at convincing others to follow his lead, but he still sucks at sharing the limelight with other villains, often to his own detriment.
That all said, I still want to see a Gobata from That Time I Reincarnated as a Slime get built, but without the rest of the core cast, including our Slimy Boy, to build as well he might feel like his having something miss out on him. As much as I would love to see Shion or Souske get builds, there's no official material or UA material for playing as an ogre, evolved into Kijin or not, and to build Rimuru you'll probably need to get the Juiblixian race supplement on DM's Guild, then basically make sure you're building everything properly in the Homebrew section on D&D Beyond because that supplement isn't included in the material you can get there.
