    I could hear the difference in calibration most clearly when listening to 2 Channel, and the positive difference it made is massive.

    Thank you for such a video. You're the only one who makes such detailed videos about processors. I'm currently selecting a system for myself. If there is an opportunity, please write to me how do you think the kit with the Tonewinner AT300 and the Tone Winner AD-8300PA power amplifier will it be better and by how much % in movies and music of the TONE WINNER AT-3000 receiver? My room is not big, about 20 squares

    • @SpecOfTech
      @SpecOfTech  Год назад +1

      That would be a great combination. The AD8300 would pair very well with the AT300. I'm sorry, I don't understand your question about % music movies or the AT300, can you rephrase it.

      @@SpecOfTech sorry for the unclear question. I have a room of 20 square meters and I'm thinking is it possible to do with a TONE WINNER AT-3000 receiver? this receiver has the same filling as the Tonewinner AT300, I checked on the manufacturer's website: Analog Devices ADSP-21573, Cirrus Logic CS42528 and ADSP 21573 are identical. The question is how much worse it will sound compared to the Tonewinner AT300 and the Tone Winner AD-8300PA? sorry if I'm bothering with questions. You are an expert in this matter, I'm just interested in your opinion.

    I just picked up an AT-300 for $650 shipped. Still need to hook it up though, and ship out my RMC-1L which just sold for $2300. Definitely interested to see how much of a difference in sound quality a $4000 processor will have over a hyper budget $1300 processor.

    It is not uncommon with calibration from a receiver to actually change the sound to "not as favorable" to the listener. Of course it is all listener specific. Using DIRAC on my own system, it turned up the bass throughout the room distractingly so, although it had flattened it. Does this make sense? Not so much but, perhaps in doing so it seemed bass heavy by removing the treble reflections I had grown accustomed to. Thank you for getting this info out there.

    I hear zero difference, but perhaps that's on me being, apparently, a non-audiophile. Seriously, I listened the all of the sound samples with my eyes closed and I couldn't tell when the whole "non-calibrated versus calibrated" clips were played. I'm guessing that I just have lost, or never had, the ear of an audiophile. I just turned 52 this past July, maybe that's part of it, no idea. That said I just purchased the highly acclaimed Polk Signature R700s for my front L/R, the R400 center and two R200 bookshelves for my surround speakers. These will be anchored by the supremely capable RSL Speedwoofer 12S, so I'm hoping that my hearing isn't as listening capabilities aren't as bad as they seem to be in this video. I'd guess that the speakers that appear in this video are Arenal, not sure, just a guess. If so, fantastic speakers put price/performance to the Polks that I bought I think it's a super easy decision.
    All the best to all of you.

      I found the auto EQ to sound awful. I'm just using it for the subwoofer, as five filters seem to be enough.
      It's a pity can't import, or export the response results and custom EQ settings to usb stick, and also import results. So if I wipe it I can easily recover them

      What were you listening on? A system or your phone? Because listening through my home system there was a very very clear difference during the 2 channel sections.

    • @utjoseywales
      @utjoseywales Год назад +1

      @@kilgoretrout4461 I, sorry, we ALL get that "audiophiles" like you're projecting to be tout their superior ear, able to distinguish subtle differences that us mere mortals cannot hear and therefore are not worthy of their time. Spin in your own orbit. I listened to it on a pair of Elac speakers with a Paradigm sub. It's not my home system, but it's running through a Pioneer AVR on my PC. Scoff if you will at my gear (because that's why people like you always do), but it's certainly not a cell phone, and I heard what I heard (or better said, didn't hear), period!

    • @graysonpeddie
      @graysonpeddie 8 месяцев назад

      @@utjoseywales Don't let audiophiles get to you. Even I'm not an audiophile and I have a hearing disability since the day I was born, but while listening to J2X and Lou's Gentleman with and without room calibration, I thought I can hear a peak of around 150Hz especially when it comes to hearing the tail of the kick drum (perhaps slightly ringing due to room acoustics), but when I did a spectrum measurement of the kick drum using Ardour (a software for music making in Linux), I can tell that the sound of the kick drum had a bump between 48 Hz to 62 Hz with the room calibration and there's a bump between 64 Hz and approximately 86 Hz without room calibration. Plus, there's a slight bump around 140Hz without the room calibration on. The measurement may not tell the entire story, so you might want to listen with your headphone.
      For this test, I have a Presonus Studio 26c audio interface along with Rode NTH-100 headphone and I can totally hear the difference if I listen closely despite my hearing impairment. I believe the reason why you cannot hear the difference is because the acoustic properties of the room and the speakers have a direct impact on how the kick drum gets affected. I played the song on RUclips as a reference track so that I can get an idea of what I'm listening for.
      Once again, I'm not an audiophile but at least I can be of much help to you. I have not listened to other tracks through my headphones but I did listen to them through my home theater speakers but then I live in a temporary space and my temporary room has no room acoustic treatment (I do not want to bother with room treatment at this time).
      To @Spec of Tech, I could probably see myself turning down some of that bass on the low end. I can be quite a basshead in the past, but now I have a tendency to go with flattened sound whenever possible and that's my ultimate goal when it comes to home theaters. I would like to be more of an analytical type but I can see myself starting with AT-300 along with a 7-channel amp just to start my journey into the world of separates. Hopefully my endgame goal is to go with an Anthem AVM90 or if I can get even more of a high-paying job in the field of IT, a Trinnov Altitude 16. Of course, I do love both movie theater and music listening.

      Since emotiva hasn't released a single firmware update, I'd say go for the tonewinner. There have been numerous releases. There were a few buggy versions with clicks and pops, and unit lock ups but those have been sorted. Stick with the November 22 release

      Sorry mistake with my earlier replies. I read that as RMC 1L lol, because that is the one I had, I must of had that model on my brain. I would choose the Tonewinner over the MC1. The Emotiva will certainly be more buggy than the Tonewinner. Sound wise Billy is right, they should be similar.

    • @SpecOfTech
      @SpecOfTech  Год назад +1

      Very different speakers. The Legacy are so much more $$ that is not a fair comparison in the least. I had the Focus SE speakers and IMO, they are better than the Arendal 1723 in every way, as they should be considering how much they cost. The Legacy's are more detailed, more transparent and more capable. Not to mention they're aesthetics are a big step up from Arendal. Hope that helps...cheers.
