    A great and detailed explanation! Unfortunately there is nothing comparable in my language or something is missing.
    I have a tip: take the rectangle version and do a stitch test! I made a cardigan according to instructions and used the square version, but as a beginner I didn't know what it would look like. The arms would be much too big and everything would have to be separated.
    Really great video, thank you!

    Hi, these are really great instructions 👍🏼😊 thank you❤
    I have some questions about modifications for different body shapes. For example if I have enough width over the chest but the sleeve opening wouldn't be big enough. What to do so the garment still fits well? And vice versa.
    Where and how much can I add or take off if I wanted a more tailored look over the chest, waist and backside?

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions  2 месяца назад

      Oooh now we're getting deep! I would add a few chains under the arm when joining to create the arm holes if you need wider sleeves but you will then have to decrease under the arm after the second round in order to keep a consistent fit in the chest and vice versa if you wanted to narrow the arm hole but widen the chest area. With crocheting these types of garments, it's always an experiment so you have to be ready to do some trial and error but I think that this general method would help you get closer to what you want. Hope this helps!
      Keep me posted and let me know how you make out!👍

    So if I stop at my armpit and then calculate how many stitches I will need from that point to how wide I actually want the body, meaning the difference between the two, then I could add chains at the armpit to make up the difference, correct? And if that is correct is there kind of a guideline as to how many chains that you would actually want to add. Say for instance, the difference is quite large. Is there anything that says how many chains are too much?

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions  Год назад +2

      What I Would do is when connecting at the armpit, chain up 3 to 5 chains and then connect to create the armholes. Then try it on. Your arms should feel comfortable. You want to be able to move around without it feeling tight. If it feels tight, then undo that row and add a few more chains at the join of each armpit and then try on again. Repeat the process until you get a fit that feels good. Once you get the right fit then you would proceed to crocheting the rest of the body.
      Hope that makes sense?

  • @nicolemoser2766
    @nicolemoser2766 День назад

    How can I adjust the arm? The problem I have is that the armhole is too big. However, if I work fewer rounds, the body part is too narrow.

    Hello, really great info! What about the increases at the corners of the yoke? How many stiches (1 or 2), how many chains between those stiches (1,2,or 3)? Does it matter?. Maybe you have an opinion about it. Thanks!

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions  2 года назад +1

      Viviana! Hi! Great questions! I usually start off by doing increases with a stitch, chain 1 and stitch but then I will look at the work as I go. If I find it's bunching, it's because there aren't enough sts so It will need 2 sts, chain 1 and 2 sts. I rarely use 2 chains as that would create a bit of a larger gap in the fabric - unless I am crocheting something lacey than that would be okay. Hope that all makes sense! Do let me know if you have any more questions:)👍

    On your thumb nail there is a yoke chart. Where can I find it?

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions  2 года назад

      Hi MarJean! You can find that chart in the Pretty in Puffs cardigan pattern here: tinyurl.com/Pretty-in-Puffs-Cardigan
      That chart refers specifically to that cardigan and just gives you the number of stitches based on your increase for each round. If you check out the video tutorial, I go over how to adjust your chains to create the size you need. You can find that here: ruclips.net/video/52dOMy7K66I/видео.html

    hi thank you so much, I have been tasked to make a crochet no sew tutu for an 11-12 year old and getting measurements right has been a nightmare, the only question I have which my seem silly is how many chains from hook am I starting with and do I add any???

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions  3 года назад

      Oh this is wonderful to hear that this tutorial will help you in your tutu project. Now how many chains from the hook will depend on the stitch you plan to use to make the tutu. If you are using SC stitches then the 2nd chain from the hook will do. If you are using DC, then the four ch from the hook will do. Hope that makes sense!

  • @BlessedChild41
    @BlessedChild41 2 года назад

    I am following and I am doing a swatch now. I crocheted a chain the length of the 9 cm and I did not come up with 20 chains I came up with 15 instead. I used a 4 ply yarn and a 3.5 crocheted hook.

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions  2 года назад

      Hi Arike! That may very well happen depending on your yarn weight and if you crochet a little looser. For you 15 chains is your magic number. So you would continue following the same principles of creating your yoke. Hope that makes sense:)
