Thank you everyone for your kind comments. Unfortunately, after this Vid I went back to work full time as nurse and become very busy as mom. I am hoping to post crochet videos again , but with the economy at the moment, I just got so busy working. Again thank you and sorry if I could not answer some of your questions.
Thank you sooo much for this video! I have been searching for a tutorial like this one where it actually teaches the basics on how to properly measure and create a yoke that fits any size! Please make more videos like this that teach how to create and design dresses and cardigans explaining why the steps are necessary to create the garment… I’d greatly appreciate it!
Of all the videos I've watched on this subject, yours is the first one I have actually understood.very clear and precise so thank you very much .I have to make my own patterns so they fit my grand daughter and this is a big help
You have no idea how relieved I am to have found your video. You do an excellent job at demonstrating exactly what to do and why we do that series of steps. Thank you x 100.
This one I was searching for!!! You made my day !! Thank you for explaining so efficiently on size measurements. Love 💕 from Canada!! Looking for more videos!!!!
OMG, finally perfect explanation especially for any yarn you can use . Thank you for your time, teaching me this breakdown I’m now able to figure out any size and any yarn. This was liberating 💕
Thank you very much for this informative video , glad that I found you with perfect calculation for any size of this type . Many a times I have dropped continuing crocheting lovely cardigan patterns for making up the correct meass measurement . God bless you .
This was exactly what I was looking for in a crochet sweater yoke. I didn't know how to start until I saw this video. I am crocheting a sweater for myself and adult size. This method works. The only thing is I have to expand a little from waist down because I have hips. Children's sweaters don't require expanding because they don't have hips yet. So what did I use the same method where you are determining how many stitches to expand the sleeve and close up the gap of the sleeve. So I did measurements on my hips and then I added a few DC's in a couple of spaces on the sides of body of sweater to expand. Now sweater will fit comfortably. I thought about this because I sew my own clothes and I draw up my own patterns by measurements. But you helped me start this project so the sweater will fit properly. I don't have too much to finish and I will start the border around. I am loving this sweater. I now have a pattern for a sweater. I can make it open in front or close up center for a pullover.
Thank you thank you thank you! This is what I have been searching for! Looking to make a toddler sized sweater i to an adult size of xxl! This will help me through that process!
Wow! I have been searching for a long time on how to create a square neckline. Thank you. You explain so easy and do not run to explain the tutorial. I am very grateful for this tutorial and I subscribed to your channel ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much for sharing this video, it makes perfect sense. I’m going to make a cardigan for my two-year-old grandson. This is exactly what I was looking for. 😊🙏🙏
Thank you so much for your very clear and easy to follow tutorial. It is by far the most explicit tutorial I have come across and really helped me to understand the process. Can you please tell me if I wanted to join it together to make a jumper would I just slip stitch into the last stitch, would I also add an extra stitch to slip into? ❤
amei muito bem explicado para fazermos esquema para qualquer tamanho. Deus abençoe muito e ilumine para que possas sempre nos ensinar com tanta eficiencia. Beijos desse Brasil inteiro.
So I am going to assume that if you want to make a pullover you'd just do the same number of stitches front and back and join in the round? Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you so much for this video. It explains everything. ☺
Gladly I found your channel. That's what I needed! Thank you so much. But I have questions, why your shoulder is going down but mine is straight so my yolk shape is square
Thank you, i understand your explaination. Please i wanna ask. This count work for double crochet only, what if i want to use another stitch pattern? Because other stitch pattern has it own foundation chain. For example 3+1, 6+1 and so on. So how count if i want to use another stitch pattern?
Thanks for your video, is very helpfull. I would like to crochet a hoody (cardigan) for my self that start with the square yoke. Do you think that If I use your system in one of my hoodys will work to find my beginning chain? Thanks
Thank you for this video. I have a question though-In the beginning, you check how many stitches is the eqivelant to the length of 11cm by chaining a random number.that part i understand. But why did you have to double crochet after (and start it 3rd chain from hook?)
I made this neckline in a cardigan sweater. I would like to add a collar to it. Do you have any collar patterns for this neckline. Any would be appreciated
Hello I've just found your channel this is great and easy to understand thank you. I was wondering if possible would you do in the round and v neck in the future. I have boys and would love to make them nice jackets and something for myself 😍
What I did for my 4yr old V-Neck was first I only used 3-4 stitches for the front of the first row. Then I increased at the beginning and end of every second row. For instance if I'm making double crochets I make two double crochets at beginning and again two at end of row....until you're satisfied with the v-shape and just stop the increasing and continue as normal. You decide if you want the v-shape to end before of end of the yoke is finished. I hope this helped. Btw I used DK yarn
Q. Thank you for your video I am having trouble with my understanding of the maths. the front chest =30cm & the front yoke=27 difference is 3cm therefore 1.5cm ea side for front wouldn't that be doubled to allow for the back measurements of yoke and chest? chest circumference is 60cm yoke circumference is 54 cm diff is 6cm therefore 3cm ea underarm? 3cm =6sts ea side? that is what I am stuck on - I really want to be able to figure this out if you could take the time to explain where I am going wrong.
Hi J Lowe, Thank you for watching. I believe you are not wrong . But I’d like to explain why I did not add 3 cm on each side but rather just added 1.5 cm. On that last round where we made ch 3, we still made an increase on each side. I added 1DC immediately before the corner and 2Double crochets on each corner before I made 3chains then 2 DC on the opposite corner when I connected them. Those were additional stitches, Which, my fault, I did not expound clearly thus causing confusion. So if you follow this pattern , you should have 60 cm chest circumference at the end ( assuming same size ) or even a little bit more. But your idea is also an alternative, though,I believe it’s a little too much for the sleeve or armpit area if you add 6 stitches each side. If you’re confuse with the numbers, simplier alternative is to crochet until you reach the chest circumference and just add 2-3 chains to connect on both sides. There’s no definite formula though in making yoke especially if you add more designs. I hope I clearly explained.
Am I the only one who is getting the right amount of of chain stitches and doing this step by step and still have way to much chain even someone I know said it’s not mathing was having the same problem
