    I am size 2XL and I made this sweater, here are some tips:
    1. For the ribbings she doesn't mention this but is best if you use a smaller crochet hook or else it will look a bit wonky, I am still thinking of redoing mine.
    2. Follow the same steps all the way to the armpit section, THAT is when sizes change, as I mentioned I am 2XL and instead of a chain of 5 I did 25, she looks like she is a size M maybe ? So maybe go for 5 chains more per size? Always make sure to keep trying it on, and that is not too tight around the armpits, once you know how many chains is comfortable for you,( just remember to keep an uneven number of chains here for later), then just keep the rows for body going as normal.
    3. SLEEVES, in my size after I did 25 chains in armpit I first tried to follow the same as in the video but just as she mentions there was some extra fabric I didn't like there, so instead I followed the first round of 2 DC decrease, but then on round 2 I did again another 2 decreases on each corner and then round 3 I did only 1 DC decrease, and same 1 decrease until round 8 and then just let that be normal DC no decreases for me, til the end, when you get to the ribbing for sleeves, maybe try SC and then the ribbing w again a smaller hook.
    Mine took me 5-6 skeins of 240m yarn, and that was 4 colors, body and sleeves (2 white, 2 dark green and 1 orange, ribbing is 1 brown) I also did my color switching in blocks of 5 white, 5 orange, 8 dark green, repeated twice.
    Hope this helps! ❤

    • @zoeestella8984
      @zoeestella8984 Год назад

      @@AllGrowing so it depends on the yarn weight you use. But for me, I use her pattern of 50 for the neck and 100 dcs same as her as it gives a lovely fit. Then I continue until about row 12 or 13 and check the fit. Trial and error is a big part of crochet unfortunately. I'm a size m/l and found following this pattern fitted nicely up to a 98cm bust. It may differ for you tho! So be sure to try it out until you get the fit you like. :)

    Thank you so much for this video and written pattern! I have just completed my very first sweater, hopefully with many more to come!
    It was actually fun following along - I expected it to get tedious fast, but it really wasn't. You explain everything really well.
    I have a question for my next sweater, though: I have noticed a lot of bunched fabric underneath the arms when I let them hang. When they're lifted, it all looks just fine!
    Is that just a property of raglan sweaters or can I maybe adjust the underarm chain to be slightly shorter next time? I'm a bit scared that that won't let me lift the arm once the sleeves are finished haha

When making rows for the ribbing do you make 49 rows and then slip stitch join counting that as the 50th row, or make 50 and then slip stitch. Can you make the sleaves without decreases so they are more baggy?

    • @user-fn4jv8yz1d
      @user-fn4jv8yz1d 11 месяцев назад +2

      yes you could! that is how i'm going to do my sweater. when you get to the sleeve portion, just don't make the decreases like she does and keep putting 1 stitch into every stitch until your sleeve is as long as you want

    I’m doing this with mohair and so far 40 stitches around the neck and then doubled to 80 for first row of the yoke but now I’m so lost 🥲 please help!!!

    • @VivCrochets

      To increase your square, add 8 double crochets every round! So your next round should have 88 stitches because you’re adding 2 double crochets in each of the 4 chain 2 spaces

    When counting the rows for the body, does the first pink row with the 5 chains count as the first? Or the row after that?

      Hi! You want to put 100 double crochets along the side of the ribbing. I put 2 double crochets per row of ribbing since I did 50 rows of ribbing.

    I have seen many crocheted sweaters that are made with the same length of both front and back part.. I wonder why is this the case? I thought that the back part should be longer for more comfortable wear of the sweater but I cannot find any tutorial where it would be done this way😮😢🤔

      Me too😂The instruction on the beige one is not clear. Is it 2 double crochet in one chain then 1 double crochet, then another double crochet and so on? I cannot align my four holes. Ill appreciate if you will not forward it all the time in the end without showing steps by steps😂😂

    Question! When working on the body, after chaining the 5 on both sides, I saw that you slip stitched, do you then chain two to start a new row?

    • @VivCrochets
      @VivCrochets  Год назад

      Yes, the chain 5 becomes the bottom of the next round!

    Hi thank so for this tutorial it was really helpful ❤ what if I'm making and over sized can I still reduce it from the armholes?

  • @MykaRichmond

    I was curious for the collar when you do the 50 rows does the chain of eleven count as a row by its self or not

    • @hafsaamir2080
      @hafsaamir2080 Год назад +2

      The chain doesn't but when you do your first half double crochet row that does.
      Hope that helps!!
      Happy Crocheting ❤️

    U didn't try it on your body,do how did you know that for arm pit you need 5 chains?
    Should I consider the arm pit length or the bust size ?
