Oh Stephanie, thank you so much! That's very kind of you. This video was very special to me. I get so much out of interacting with everyone and sharing what I can :)
Hi Elly, I made this on Saturday and put it in the deep freeze for a few hours. When I took it out of the deep freeze I took the soap out of the mold and left it on the counter. The next day it was a soggy blob 😂 I didnt use macadamia oil. I used Ansa Smit- Saponify substitution for olive oil, that is half canola and half palm. Ansa, like me, lives in South Africa and she showed how to substitute two oils in place of olive due to the very high cost of olive oil here. I added on the amount needed to replace the macadamia to half in canola and half into palm I love watching you and Ansa. xx

Hi Elly Wonderful design technique 👍🏻 I have been following your channel and love your ideas, made your 100% coconut oil soap recently. I have a question.... I tried to make the beginner’s lavender soap according to your 2 year old video, and as soon as I added lavender essential oil(15ml), it just seized! I had made my lye solution one day in advance and tried to keep temperatures low by only melting coconut oil and adding to olive oil( I use pomace though).... can you guide me a bit.
Hi, thanks Jyoti, it sounds like it was your lavender oil! Are you sure it was pure essential oil? Pure lavender oil won't do that to your soap. If it was a synthetic fragrance oil that was probably the culprit.
Elly, thankyou for the recipe. What temperature are your oils in this milk soap. The lye/milk was in the low 20 C. Have made this soap a couple of times with different brands of almond milk and homemade almond milk, I want the end result to be a white soap.

Thank you for a great video. I plan to try this. Does the almond milk impart any scent (I'm guessing it doesn't)? Also, which of your videos (if any) has an explanation of gel phase? I'd like to understand better what it is and learn how I can avoid the big round mark in my soaps that appear as they dry. Thanks again.
Hi Arlo, I've got a great description of gel phase on my website that I'm launching on the weekend! ellyseveryday.com That will definitely answer your question. And no, the almond milk doesn't impart any scent in my experience.
Thank you Elly..for the great content you dish out always, please how long should we allow the soap to settle in before we use them. In one of your videos I heard you say 6weeks.
So Elle ee gant! Sorry had to do it🤣 Beautiful video as always. Would you mind sharing where you purchased your green spatula from. I see alot of soapers using them. I could only find the mini ones but not the full size. Thanks 🙏🏻😊
Thank you Nathalie, that's so cute :) I can't remember now, honestly! It was a kitchenware shop in Brisbane. Maybe 'House' - think you can get them easily on e-bay too.
Hi Elly..i made the soap...it looked perfect! I put it in the freezer for two days...now i took it out to cut it and the soap crumbled. Also it started to get soft and mushy so it was hard to hold...what did i do wrong?
I only leave mine in the freezer for a few hours, then take it out to saponify and harden at room temperature. It was probably crumbly because it was frozen, but then too soft because it hadn't saponified at all yet :)
Great! It's a fun soap to make. If you're in Australia, something like this would be good amzn.to/3d1gqp2, or you could see if Bunnings have them. I got this one www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-8-1-distance-to-spot-ratio-infrared-thermometer_p0229649 but the stock was very low and I'm not sure if they are still available. If you're in the USA, any of these would be great amzn.to/3aWDDpJ Good luck!
Elly thank you so much for your videos. Could you do one specifically for soaping temperature. I'm finding different results from the same ingredients AND method of gelling afterwards and I think the issue is soaping temperature. I've noticed you don't seem to place much importance in it and eyeball things. Are there different temps for different ingredients besides milk soaps?
Hi Joey, yes, I am planning a video on this very subject soon! It's a great one to learn about, because whether or not temperature matters really does depend on the recipe :)
Hi Elly... could you help me to clear some of my doubt...I make goat milk soap with a 1.5:1milk lye ratio ..does increasing my milk lye ratio to 2:1 increases the moisturising effect in my soaps...
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking ok. I will remake this soap again because i love the feel of the ones that actually cut well...thanks again for the advice...

Thank you Nathalie, that's so cute :)
I can't remember now, honestly!
Cant wait to try this one! Can you add a link for your digital thermometer please? Thanks!
If you're in the USA, any of these would be great amzn.to/3aWDDpJ
Good luck!
I have updated the descriptoin box with these links :)
Thanks Elly!!
Hi can you please post Shea butter soap
Yes, I'll be doing that soon :)
How long did you leave the soap in the freezer? Did i leave mine in too long?
I think so. I just left mine in for a few hours, then took it out and left it on the bench overnight.
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking ok. I will remake this soap again because i love the feel of the ones that actually cut well...thanks again for the advice...
