I want to clarify since some are confused...this video is about their customer service NOT their product being bad!! The screen worked fine before they tried to "fix" the radio. Getting ahold of their customer service and them holding up their end of fixing their mistake is the issue here.
did you happen to have the navigation on the 8 in screen that it came with and would you be willing to sell the navigation box as mine did not come with NAV

Thank you for making this video. I was JUST about to order one but the poor customer service is unacceptable. They lost another customer because of how they treated you.
Put one of these in my 2014 F-150 with Sync 1. Works great, with guidance. I just spend several days trying to get Tech support, then today had a great experience with their tech. There are so many hidden controls to get to menus items (five-finger touch and hold for one screen level). But after a complete walkthrough, we're just fine again. Their best contact is via a video call type app, like duo.
Thanks for the info, so many aftermarket companies have terrible customer service, I’ve bouts few things for my F150 lately and the sellers seems to have zero knowledge about their products when there’s a problem
I actually bought one for my f250 and after getting help from Phoenix automotive tec support I actually like it so far. Remember you bought a used radio so you really can't blame Phoenix for a used stereo system!
I had the same EXACT PROBLEM with Phoenix android radio when it came to the customer service! I am glad to know that I was not the only one. I was/am optimistic about ordering the linkswell but I think I am going to get it after watching your video.
I just purchased this for my 2016 F-150
It’s the 12.1 screen with sync3 and Manuel ac.
The back up camera works.
All steering wheel controls work.
Sync 3 works. GPS works.
On a side note
I did have to contact them
Because the rear camera wasn’t working when I put it n reverse.
A simple phone call and they help me in the setting menu and boom.
It now works

What about satellite radio? Will it still work ?
I just tried to install in my Cadillac.. had issues with the screen. Tried to reach Phoenix Automotive and they straight-up refused to answer calls or emails. I had to use Facebook messenger to get someone to respond. They wouldn't help. I also ordered an accessory, and it never shipped (from China I guess) and it delayed my install, this took me out of return period (30 days). Again, they would answer me of agree to send me out another part. This is going to sound crazy, but you can save $200 if you just order directly from the Chines manufacturer, and I think you would get better service. The only reason I ordered from Phoenix was I wanted to make sure that I had someone to call if things went wrong. Boy, did they let me down.

@@RicardoNoness www.aliexpress.com/ ..it is like a chinese amazon; search for your vehicle and the word "tesla". Read the details carefully, and verify that you get what you order. There are many sellers selling similar units, but often there are small differences in software and hardware (cpu / ram, etc)
I bought one for my Titan and the hazard button never worked. After contacting then and troubleshooting the unit, we still couldn't get it to work. After that, they stopped answering my calls or responding. Customer service is horrible!

At 13:45 when you were showing the BlueTooth audio, I noticed that the moving sound meter was just a random graphic and not an actual representation of the music being played. That seems a bit cheesy. Couldn't they have figured out how to sample the Audio stream and render an actual sound/frequency meter?
I concur. Their support is not good. I had my screen crack (due to no fault of my own) 3 weeks into having it installed, and it took them weeks to reply to me and when they finally did they charged me 150$ to replace the screen, that probably broke from faulty manufacturing. And then took several more weeks to get it back
I’m sorry this happened to you. This is why we should always be cautious of buying Chinese products. They don’t care after they get their money. The guy that sold it to you did his best to help & even Phoenix tried to help with 5 hours of trouble shooting & you didn’t even buy it from them. Nothing like American support. Hope it’s working good for you now. Take care brother! I did notice Phoenix never picks up the phone. That’s why I didn’t buy 12.1” from them.

They take SEVERAL WEEKS / months. Phoenix automotive is BAD NEWS! But cool looking radios.
How can I connect a reversing camera that is not original to the truck?
I think your video just saved me!! My oem backup/360 camera doesn't show an image and no one can figure out why it doesn't. I'm currently working with Phoenix customer service and they're doing the best they can, but haven't been much help so far. Maybe I have to connect the wires you mentioned to get it to work. I have an Infiniti Qx50

@@danielmackenzie9601 yeah I twisted those wires together he talks about in the video and it works. It's not as bright as the stock video so at night I can't see shit when I'm backing up
Hey, my back up camera buttons don't work, says no singal when you push the camera button like you did in this video.
However when you go in reverse it works but my sensors don't go off when to close to an object.
Do you know what Is wrong with my unit ? I dont think I even have a convertor in my unit like in this video.

Talking to customer service about a problem after sale is like pulling blood out of a stone. Save your money.
Back up sensors dont go off when in reverse do you know why ?
What protocols did you use. My ac runs the whole time.
I went with the linkswell gen 4 for my tundra hope it holds up well. We will see 🤷♂️

I wish I had seen this video before my purchase. It works fine outside of a few small issues but in my brief experience I think I am going to just have a shop look at it since it seems to be minor wiring issues (no power when key in ACC position). But the service is pretty bad. All they did was send me a link to a youtube video that only refers to one specific car and I had already seen it before contacting them. I havent even tried the radio because i dont use it anyway. I like the unit itself but you better just hope everything works right after installing because getting a detailed answer from them will not happen.
I wonder what their return policy is. Did yours come from California or from China?

You have a beautiful looking truck, you have put so much work into making it look so nice and customizing it, I just have to ask why not just buy a truck that has all the accessories that you want , all the money that you have spent you could have bought a truck that has all that. That’s why I bought a F150 limited because it has all the features that I was looking for.

It looks like you may have had a similar screen to the one i have, and i was just wondering if you had a problem with it not powering on? I have an xlt as well. I believe i have everything connected appropriately but i am not getting it to turn on for some reason. Thought I’d reach out and see since your videos are very helpful. Thanks in advance!
No I've never had an issue with it not turning on, until Phoenix messed with it then it wouldn't turn off finally did then wouldn't turn back on.

Bro I have a 2019 F150 bought a new unit 2020, add a amp. DVD player connection ect ect and NEVER HAVE GOT A REPY to anything i have asked. Calls, text, emails. Nothing but Crickets. Figured out the install set code is 666888 as well as how to do it all myself. Anyway today my console/raido sync doesn't show up. To update it. Can't see it nor the steering wheel buttons do anything. Figured it all needed to be updated but can't find anything. Found you lol #Respect
Hey there WickedF150, That’s a bummer man! Sounds like its not worth it. It will probably never work right. That’s probably why the guy swapped you for it because he got fed up with it as well. I would put the Ford Sync.3 back in. It’s not the prettiest looking unit built the functionality is pretty good. I personally just don’t like the “Opaque” looking screen of the Sync.3 It looks like an old DAWS screen from the 1980’s. Come on Ford! Really??? If its Android compatible it should like a Microsoft Windows screen and HD. Just my two cents.
Well while you do lose Sirius and the sync system, with the newer model(assuming no issues) it would be great. Even with this first gen I liked it for what parts actually worked. I agree I shouldve kept sync at this point but I'm not paying the money to put that back in now. With forscan you can at least change the screen to a few different versions.

Same place as factory, on the bottom of the plastic

Thomas I would assume using your phone as a hotspot and linking the radio to it. That should work.
When you installed your stereo did you remove the CD player? Or does it stay there?
I had no cd player, but you lose it if you would have it.

Sorry this happened to you. Did you ever get this issue fixed? My wife has a SYNC 3 in her Explorer and the AM/FM radio just crapped out. Everything works except the radio. I was looking into a Phoenix px6, but I guess I'll just get the SYNC 3 fixed at the "stealership".
Check your fuses. On my Flex it was the sync media fuse (29)20 amp fuse. The fuse was going bad and it works good now.
@@MrCamz28 , it was the antenna. Apparently, the “shark fin” antennas have a circuit board in them that can burn out over time. Moisture collects and the circuit board fries!

Sorry to hear all this is happening to you man. Nice truck love the Special edition. I wanted to get one myself but wanted the lariat. Got a lariat sport instead with 502a package. I have been looking at these systems. Thank you for the video, now im sticking with my sync 3.
Did you like the linkswell or the Phoenix more? I see Phoenix has a newer version which has more memory and faster loading. I'm leaning towards Phoenix. Any input?
With their brand new one on the Phoenix I may go with that one as long as your ok with spotty customer service as you can keep your sync interface and fast boot
@@WICKEDAUTO1 they did call me back the next day. I told them I heard bad things about the service and he admitted that it was horrible and they hired more people to help in that area. I have sync with that little screen it has to go immediately! Lol thanks for the reply was very helpful. I will go with the new six-core version they have

Are you still having a problem with the android radio does this really need to be updated often which one is giving you problems the 12.1 android 7.1 but virtual or the PX 66 core 12.1 android 8.1 or should I stay away from this company due to bad customer service and products thanks for any help
I dont have Phoenix. I got the linkswell version since phoenix were absolutely zero help with theirs.

Yes
Twisting the wires together, and securing with electrical tape is no good. That tape will get hot, and sticky adhesive will not continue to hold it tight around the wires. It can possibly come off, and cause the wires contact metal. Potentially causing a short if power is going through, or noise (distortion) if they only carry a signal.
Does anyone know if a model made for af150 would work in a 2011 expedition they have the same dash ...
they have awful service. I just asked for help getting my bluetooth connected because theres no audio sound when connected.
I have one also that was in my Ford Raptor when I bought it used. Took forever to get in touch with someone and they said since I didn’t buy it new then they could not help me at all. Terrible company. BEWARE.

The worse customer service I feel r9bbed I sent radio in twice for repairs $250 each time first time they didn't fix it claim they did made me pay again and guess what it still dont work every call has been hell they even bl9cked my number I'm currently waiting on a call from a technician which will be a total waste of time sp far I've invested over $1100 in a radio thst won't work and I get treated like crap every call

Until the major car audio makers make an investment in Tesla style truck audio systems. I wouldn’t invest my money on these off brand overseas manufacturers.
@WICKEDRIDESZ I'm in the same boat as we speak, bro. On hold for now 30+ minutes and I just want to know why it takes two weeks to even get a tracking number. Or if my unit is being shipped from US or China to account for the long shipping time. They won't even answer... just hold music. They send me emails DAILY just saying they are "working hard" on a response to my simple question. Pathetic to be honest. Good thing there are lots of videos about the Civic install or i'd be in a world of hurt if a problem arose. Glad (kinda) to hear I'm not the only one with customer service issues.

Not that I'm aware of, video's default to a size except if you use RUclips then you can of course
that yellow wire is for satellite radio.
You could wrap it if you stratch the plastic 🤷♂️

No it is gen 2, the newest is basically gen 3 for them now.
There’s a generation 4 8.0 supposedly with upgrades. I talked to customer service. Maybe if you get that one it will fix the issues.
That one just has upgrades, the entire unit not working is a software issue from all their updating last week. As said in the video everything worked that was supposed to except for the radio before their updating.
got one with wrong harness, blew two fuses. terrible customer service .I would not recommend phoenix radios .
In all fairness, they do not owe you anything at all, you bought this used.

Terrible company they never sent me my radio for my 2014 Mustang and I couldn't get ahold of anyone so I had to make a dispute with my bank I would not recommend this shady company to anyone.

Gen 3 retain the ac knobs. This is an old looking unit, I have the gen 3 and everything works and looks better than this one.
What a pain in the ass! This is the main reason I won’t buy used electronics for anything. At least if you buy new you can just return it. Especially if you buy it from Amazon.
These radios are junk. Not very functional put the factory radio back in our f 150. The customer support sucks. Heat doesn't work with remote start 3/4 of the radios functions don't work. But it looks cool
