After making a few changes to my system such as the new towers, the swap to the rear surrounds, the 33" subs, a little bit of acoustic paneling and other things like aiming the speakers a little more strategically, I knew I had to rerun Dirac Live again. I have ran it several times since I have owned the Audiocontrol Maestro X-9, but every time you make a change to the system, this should be ran again. It's been a little while. It sounded pretty good before this, but all I can say is WOW now that I have ran it again after making the changes I did.

**EQUIPMENT LIST IN THE DESCRIPTION** After making a few changes to my system such as the new towers, the swap to the rear surrounds, the 33" subs, a little bit of acoustic paneling and other things like aiming the speakers a little more strategically, I knew I had to rerun Dirac Live again. I have ran it several times since I have owned the Audiocontrol Maestro X-9, but every time you make a change to the system, this should be ran again. It's been a little while. It sounded pretty good before this, but all I can say is WOW now that I have ran it again after making the changes I did. I WISH YOU COULD ALL COULD COME TRY THIS FOR YOURSELF! Your phone or even playback over youtube on your own home theater will not show you what I am experiencing. Take my word for it. I have heard a LOT of high end home theater/home audio demo's and when I hear this thing perform, All I can say is WOW! So far it's the best I have heard. Thanks for watching if you did!
If we was only able to actually hear it/feel it in person the video 100% does not show even a small % of how good it is in reality big thumbs up, can't wait to see what other upgrade to this beast of a setup you gonna come up with
Are you using control4?
Insane setup! Stuff of dreams. Cheers
Thank you sir!
I think this is the system The Napster guy on the Italian job was envisioning.
Have you done the Edge Of Tomorrow intro yet? Seriously, you need too. BUT, you have to use the dts or Blu-ray disc out of the 4K movie set(you know how it gives you 2 discs, the 4k is in Atmos and the blu ray is DTS). The DTS version has a low frequency note that is far below 20 hz and is not in the Atmos version for some reason. I have 2 sw15's with a defiance X10 and I think my house is going to fall apart!
Wow excellent demo of setting up your system my brother.
Deff need to watch 13hours. That last 20 or 30 min would probably sound like you are there in the mix of it all
is it a movie made in the last few years? never heard of it.
Its the name of the movie. It is from 2016. The exact name is "13 hours: the secret soldiers of bebghazi". It is a great movie.
I wish I could come and hear it but like you, I have no one around me either that are this committed (and crazy). It was funny when you admitted to using the wrong mic. I can't mention how many times I've had to redo and redo. I only have a 7.1 system. Lets see 17 measurements times 7 comes to a lot of sweeps (119). You had 15 if I'm right and that would be 255 sweeps!!!. Ouch. You didn't mention how many errors and re-do's which adds to more sweeps. And you didn't add any house curves, curious? Thanks for the video. Nobody near Seattle for me.
Hello friend your subs on what are u playing them like one what amplifier
I also have videos on my RUclips channel...u will see i have two 15" subs....both subs is all together 32000watt....and my amplifier is a car amp monoblock 35000watt....so i have a little power problem...did get a power supply 12v 120amp output for in the house...but i need more power for that amp
Bruh... not even a top tier movie theater has this much audio😂😂 and this is just your living room. Awesome set-up 💪🏽💪🏽
Nobody has 33in subs in their set up but I’m sure somebody is hating the in the comments 😂
You did an excellent job bro I’d love to hear the George straight on you system or some Chris Stapleton!! Absolutely brilliant system bro!! Been following you for years!!! God bless you brother!! 🎶🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵
thanks Adam!! Much appreciated brotha. :)
Hell yeah brotha! Glad I came across you on tiktok today!
hey man! thanks for checking in!
Burning question Ive been wondering about with this build: Do you have to ever be careful or limit yourself with how loud you go for fear of actually causing damage inside the house (drywall cracks, loose floorboards, broken windows, exc)?
Of course, it would take an absolute monster of a system to even have to wonder about that, but I'd put this system in the 'absolute monster' classification, so I'm curious.
nah, not to worried about it. My house is built strong. Thanks!
@@meade916 hell yah. Been following ya since the 20k tahoe days and love all the work you've done. It just goes to prove that hard work and dedication pays off. Cheers myman
That couch looks comfortable.
it's VERY comfy! :D
The illusion those 33” subs create that makes everything else look so small is bonkers! Definitely an epic setup! XLRs are the only way to go!
Love it!!! Are you going to add more to it or good for now?
who knows. I never know till I do it :D
@@meade916 can’t wait for that day i love your home theater setup so clean no cables. Keep doing what you’re doing you inspire me!!
Any dual 33s in the rear in the future lol
Mannn I Wish I was ya neighbor!😂
LOL we have the same Laptop.
Steve its the what the what?🙆
?
Awesomeness. Id be watching star wars or midway on that set up or any john wayne movie
bro, EVERYTHING sounds great!! even regular ol' 5.1 surround programming has a lot of overhead (upscaled) energy. It is beyond my expectations for sure. And it ain't even my first rodeo with Dirac Live.
@@meade916 sweet love it
Great setup‼️
Steve, can I get some info on replacing the surround on a 18" v1? (Signed cone) Procedure, glue type?
If you can even find a cone, use black CA Glue.
@@meade916 I have the cone, it's signed. I have a new surround. You got a email I can send pics?
@@JacobBitner how is it signed? I have never signed a cone that I remember. Just the dustcap (the first 100 sold) and maybe a magnet at some point.
@@JacobBitner yup wccaraudio@gmail.com lets see! :)
seen you on tictok beggin for like hahahah all love
hahahah thanks man!
Hi hello i just saw your calibration with Dirac…. I get my JBL SDP55 last month and the mic included similar with yours …. One thing for sure, pls change to UMIK 1 mini DSP mic … it will be night and day difference…..the existing mic given not going to reveal the true performance of your Maestro X9 …. Its only 70% ….
my mic is perfectly fine. "70%" LOL you don't even know what I have.
@@meade916 from the video we can see it clearly ( a black plastic mic) … anyway wishing you all the best👍👍👍 …
@@ghazalibinallahpitchay6089 so. Who cares what it is made of, you still don't know what it is. The Mic you tried to tell me to get is a cheap $100 Amazon mic. They both get the job done just fine.
That optical illusion of "it aint that big"... but then you say those panels are 41" - basically the size of my almost-too-large-for-my-room TV, and the realization hits me hard, right into the face :D Those 33" subs make everything look so small! All perspective problems is their fault. Great system! And good choice to not use any more powerful amps on the subs, they get plenty energy from lookin at the camera shake.. They have to sound good after all, not make your house fall apart like them cars, lol.
Open floor plans are wonderful and great, except for audio playback especially MUSIC.
I like the way you tamed the sub in the corner; I initially set my four 10" subs in a corner facing opposing 90 degree angles: but changed it to how yours are arrayed in a stereo fashion; two 10" subs stacked on opposite sides of the entertainment center playing mono. Thank you for sharing your mistake!
I initially saw that the microphone wasn't reaching all of the way across the room and I was like ?? lol
Appreciate the updates man! Super dope to see this. Especially the detailed process with calibration. Gives me great ideas for a future home setup.
Man O man....INSANE!! Try Jurassic Park 3. Track 7 I believe. Where dude says 'nobody move a muscle".
What’s up Steve I’m trying to get started in the audio field professionally and seeking any advice you can give brother. I’m a true basshead and been doing minor installs since 2020 but want to take it a step further PLEASE HELP😂
dont used compressed netflix audio!
I use both blueray and Netflix. Both sound great.
Lol exactly...4k or bust
Beautiful set my friend. I have klipsch set too the sound amazing, of course nothing compares to yours but is all good👍🏼👍🏼. Try watching the movie sicario 1 and 2 and Den of thieves , nice shoot out scenes
When I do my Dirac calibration, I use the storm audio seating positions , this works well,
Your system is smart, and very well set out including cable management 👍
what is a "storm" seating position? thanks man!
@@meade916 storm audio is a company that makes high end processors , amplifiers ect probably best just to look them up on the web ,
@@meade916 storm audio is a company who makes high end, audio equipment, processors , amplifiers, ect , probably best to look up on the web
@@gingerninja7187 never heard of it. All I was curious about was the "Storm Audio seating position". If dirac live is telling me where to put the mic it don't make much sense to me to put it anywhere else as it is expecting the mic to be in that spot while testing. Post up a quick video of your Storm Audio system with special seating positions. Lets see. Should only take a few minutes to walk around it and upload.
@@meade916 look up storm audio
How to perform a basic Dirac live calibration
On RUclips
I am also building an ATMOS system with Klipsch speakers. I don't have 2 33in B2 subs lol, I do have a Klipsch 12.
I think with a system like that, some computer tweaking wizard's magic spell is the secret sauce for sure! I also didn't know Godzilla Minus One was in english. I caught it at the theater in Japanese subtitled.
😳 and hear I am with my plug and play soundbar and subwoofer 😂 super jealous. 💪🏽💪🏽🔥
Its funny how much those big subs play with the perspective of how big everything is. Would love to hear this IRL
Man you have such a beautiful house bro! The sound system is way more than the icing on the cake too. Lol. I’d love to hear that in person, but this is the next best thing!
I’m Surprised audio control didn’t make a epicenter bass processor for home Audio
Sick setup man!, i need to upgrade my tv and get my own stereo too! Ill start on the small side tho haha.
I feel like I can hear it sounding better through the video so it must sound amazing now
My little Creative Speaker can't comprehend. 😆
Very happy to hear that you like Dirac Live. I am the new CEO since today at Dirac Research. Great video!
lol cool story! thanks though!
@meade916 It seems my reply dispensers. However, checkout dirac News, and you will see that we have a new CEO, and that is me. I would love to get in contact with you and hear more about your experience with Dirac Live. My last name is Storm. I just came from 8 years as CEO in the Semiconductor industry to Dirac.
@@x2consultingstorm haha! AWESOME!!! sorry to doubt you. You never know what someone will say in the comment section. I believe you now :D You can contact me any time you like, I will email you my info. Thanks man!!
@@meade916 No worries, happy you like Dirac Live
Those other systems didnt have you installing them
Dude all i did was watch the first 3 secs of the video and im already drooling holy shit thats beautiful.
thanks Thomas!
Lmao.. your movie demos made my lil ass Bose sound better then they ever have. Minus the dolby atmos. Just trying to reproduce the clarity its getting from your sound output is amazing.. which means in person yours gotta be 10x better.
i mean, bose has 66% of the freq response so ur not far off xD
@CVLova No, it's more like 50%
Man that’s insane 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💯
Steve you gotta try the opening of Edge of Tomorrow . The bass at the very begging is crazy
i'll check it out :D
@@meade916 ya it's only a couple seconds but it's pretty brutal on the subs
Now bring the custom shop towers in
sounds like fun if I didn't already do this.
must me nice your the best thow from the begining
huh?
cool
Best living room theater that I have no doubt!
not THE best but the best I have personally experienced. :) Especially in a room like this that isn't really ideal. Thanks man!
Hell Yeah Man 👨
Dope setup 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
thanks man!
I love it! What happened to the Klipsh subs you were running before you swapped them out for those beasts? I would be tempted to run them behind the sofa and see how they sound.
i moved them down to my office system. No need for those little things in this setup. They would be a complete waste of time.
@@meade916 jeeeze i would love to see what you would do with a dedicated home theatre room!
@@donsazon3608 I actually have a room that would be perfect for it...but I put a pool table, dart board and arcade games instead. I like to watch movies in the livingroom, I probably wouldn't even use a dedicated theater very much to justify it.
@@meade916 tbh your living room set up is better than most people's dedicated theatre rooms. 👌🏻
@@donsazon3608 thanks I really appreciate ya for that. :)
Are those atmos speakers able to keep up with the rest of the system, especially the huge subs and front towers.
of course.
Whats up steve
Wussup Shannon! How you doing?
@meade916 doing well man hope your doing well love the videos man
Dirac is a game changer.
DEFINITELY is. I don't know how it works but I know it does!
Klipsch... the best he's ever heard. 😆🤣😂
for sure would be the best you have heard. 😂😂😂 Then again you are just another internet nobody with a smart mouth and no experience 🤷♂️
@@meade916 lol im bustin your balls man, cuz i think it's funny. but seriously you need some better speakers for that setup. no they wouldnt be the best i've heard lmao. my towers alone were 12k. Legacy Focus SE's check em out, that's what you need.
@@tbone8839 you can think whatever you want. I think your imaginary "12k towers" that don't sound as good as mine is pretty funny. What imaginary pre-amp, dsp and amps are you running? Post up or you are just another window shopper with a big mouth. You have an account and a phone.... do a 30 second walk around. I bet you won't.
@@tbone8839 you have no idea what you are talking about. Don't even reply to this until you can prove you even own anything. You are just another random internet nobody and people like you are a dime a dozen on the internet. Lets see what you got.
Ever heard of La Scala?
Watch Bladerunner 2049.
is it a newer movie? like with Atmos and all that?
@@meade916 EDIT: Atmos HD. However, the ULF is intense
Dope but inwall is so much better looking other then those subs… look into it. Or look into sinking that stuff in the wall… it’s not as hard as most think and for SMD it would be a breeze 👍🏾👍🏾
Can't do that. There is a stairwell on the other side of that wall. Honestly I don't want them in the wall anyway. I like the way this looks better.
The subs are bigger than the TV i had as a child 😂 how does the drywall not crack all over? 😂
my sound panels are twice as big as my biggest TV as a child. LOL
Oh snap...the old laptop mic sneak...daaaymmmn! 🤬 That's brutal.
Glad you got it worked out and are enjoying it Steve...did you boost up the bass a bit after?
Everything you do is awesome Steve! Long time fan! I remember watching your old school Tahoe build and the white Chicken Hill escalade build as a teen! Great times!
Amazing brother! Thanks for sharing and have a great rest of your weekend Steve 😃👍👍🤙
thanks! you too!
reminds me of doing the Imprint calibration on my pxah100 alpine 😂 not quite so many chans
I’m running the RF-7’s on my fronts and I love them.
The setup is super cool, my respects for the work done👍
Been to his shop and now all I need is a invitation to the house.
The second chart is not what "it now is", it's what the software project's the response to be. To know you'd have to measure it again.
Yes, it is what was done to the signal and should be pretty close. No matter what, the object is to clean up the peaks and valleys (among several other settings) which it did.
do you want some house for your speakers, sir?
Thank you steve I just did this the other day it took me a minute to understand how to use dirac but this was right on time great system and content as always 👍🏽
I've done it a few times but I don't do it every day so it is easy to get rusty. So even I have to try to remember what to do haha! Glad it was able to help a little but we are in this together bro LOL!
Time to get your windows tinted. It will stop a lot of the glare. Or black out blinds
nah. Tinting would do nothing and black out blinds are not necessary. I don't watch movies at that time of the day anyway. This is my living room not a basement.
Fucking so nice! Good job
Im in love
Do u think the onkyo rz50 has the same drac live that u have an your amp
it might. Google it up you can probably find out pretty quick.
Hella Cool!
