    Its basically multiband saturation. Nothing really new but still a good tip. For beginners be careful with this as this will destroy low end clarity if overdone and shouldn't be a staple for your bass. A dynamic eq after this in the low frequency area is good to tame the boomyness so it doesn't go out of control if in some parts its getting out of control

      it is actually in parallel as the dry wet is not 100% anyway you are right, it needs to be used carefully!
