All the best for Monday's exam. Remember: you know these texts backwards; you've revised your notes, watched the videos and, more importantly, you're hungry for success!
Horrible Question bobs up? Don't panic! Keep calm and work smart. Theme of TIME (blurgh!) in 'An Inspector Calls'? Think how characters or relationships change over time. Theme of EVIL (yuk!) in 'Macbeth'? Think about Macbeth butchering Macduff's family even though Macbeth believes himself invincible. Think of Lady Macbeth calling on evil spirits to 'unsex' her. Don't want to sound like your mum but get a good night's sleep and get stuck in tomorrow! Mr Taylor

Really helpful videos! I'd like to ask you something: my Shakespeare's exam is approaching and my lecturer is really into general questions in which you can stuck everything you've learn during the course although we only have two hours: If she asks to comment on the theme of Kingship, what do you think are the most important issues to comment on? Since that topic could pretty much be related to everything. Also, would you talk about the Great Chain of Being?
    Thank you!

Unfortunately, this won't be possible because I'm ear-lobe deep in my own marking burden this time of year!

I'm no expert on this but I reckon you should get this sorted with your school; and sooner rather than later!

I know this is unrelated, but do you think you could possibly make a video about the theme of young vs old in An Inspector Calls?

What do you mean by 'ushering in his own doom' at 04:18 ?

    • @jalect1

I mean that Duncan brings about his own death: he is teaching men like Macbeth that you prove your masculinity, you boost your status, through acts of violence...
