I've lived in Louisville, NYC. San Francisco, CA Durham,NC and Miami, Florida. And my Europe, South America, India (Asia) and Caribbean trips.NYC is a different breed. Subways, high rises and people live quickly there. Yeah there are residential areas like the Highlands there. As far as NYC to Louisville, NYC never sleeps and if you have money, there is always something to do. Louisville KY is calm on the energy level. My aunt got her PhD at Columbia University in the 1960s. I generally, avoid NYC even flying through to Europe or wherever. My aunt lived most of her life in San Francisco and retired back in Louisville.

I prefer Louisville.
Me too!! What about Louisville do you like best?
I don't think many Louisvillians would want to live in NYC. Or NYC dwellers to Louisville.
