That is a great looking car

In no way should the Polestar 3 ever be compared to a Chevy. That would be like comparing a regular Chevy Blazer and a Volvo XC60 with each other. In no world do those vehicles compare and neither do their buyers. Nobody looking at a Polestar 3 is considering a Chevy and Polestar 3 pricing is on par with their actual competition. Audi Q8 e-tron starts at $74,400, BMW iX starts at $88,425, and the EQE starts at $77,900. The Polestar 3 starts at $73,400 (before the coming tax credit that it will qualify for) - in its category it is priced the best with and without options and provides the most standard equipment and the most range. The value proposition for someone looking at Polestar 3 is phenomenal.

@@volvo573 I would completely agree if this was an ICE vehicle, but I feel the comparison was valuable with it being electric since there are/have been so many less SUV options historically for those of us who are committed to EVs. My mom, for one, purchased a polestar and is absolutely not in it for the “luxury” aspect. When she purchased the polestar 2, her mindset was may the best EV win and that vehicle won her over at the time. Now, she’s considering swapping it out for the blazer ev and isn’t considering polestar 3 as much due to its price. I see where you’re coming from with the luxury tag, but I disagree that no one looking at a polestar 3 would be considering a Chevy blazer ev. At least at this point, but I do see it shifting towards that as the competition increases.

@@Kizzy2021 The Polestar 2 originally debuted as the new Volvo S40. It was never intended to be a luxury car. It was designed as an entry level vehicle for Volvo's line-up. When they spun off Polestar they used the already designed S40 as the P2.

Building on what Katie said below, you're right when thinking of the traditional premium/luxury SUV buyer (irrespective of powertrain), while I'm thinking of the EV buyer that is shopping for an EV based on range, price, technology, software, and feature set. In that regard, it's fair to also compare the Polestar 3 to vehicles like Rivian R2 and Blazer EV as all 3 have native, Android Automotive-based software, similar range, similar powertrains, and premium, visually interesting interiors (and are all mid-sized SUVs). The more choice and competition the better, though...we need more of that for widespread electric adoption! Varying perspectives are good-life is not a set of absolutes and lines are often blurred. While Polestar 3 might not be a slam dunk for me the "EV obsessed" buyer, I'm glad it is a fit for you (and will be for many others)! Also, it should be noted the focus and crux of this video is on all the incredible design details of Polestar 3, not the brief comparison commentary in the outro, haha! Also also, I encourage you to go out and spend time in a current day Chevrolet vehicle...new Chevy product is punching a weight class above what many typically will think of when they hear the word "Chevrolet".

Who the heck compares polestar 3 to rivian r2 or blazer. Bro…. It’s a Ev luxury sports suv.
    It’s rivals are:
    Audi etron q8
    BMW IX
    Benz eqe
And maybe macan Ev, even though it’s a little bigger then the macan.

Yep! Per Polestar on the "memory function" on Polestar 3: "Up to 6 driver profiles, activated by the ultra-wideband key or the Polestar app. Stored preferences include seat position, mirror adjustments, steering feel, one pedal drive settings, favorite apps, and playlists."

I’m not a fan of floating center consoles because it takes away the concealed storage that I love so much. I don’t have anything large to stow in the open area.

I can definitely appreciate this view. I like being able to put a purse or snacks or something in that well while driving, but I definitely would not utilize it while outside the vehicle whereas concealed storage would be helpful for both scenarios

Dog mode is automatic and triggered by motion sensors from what I've heard.

    • @detailswithdouglas
      @detailswithdouglas  Месяц назад

I did some digging, and it looks like you're referring to Polestar 3 "Occupant Detection System" which-sadly-isn't a full fledged dog/pet mode: "When leaving the car, four motion-sensing radars scan the cabin. The tiniest movement can stop the doors from locking and trigger a warning that a child or pet may still be inside. If this is intentional, Polestar 3 can be locked while the climate system stays active." www.polestar.com/us/polestar-3/safety/ Looks like Polestar 4 has a legit "animal" mode, though! www.polestar.com/uk/manual/polestar-4/2025/article/d6cfcf50d422fa2ac0a8cc37796a4b5f-928c6ac222e5edf5c0a8b0c143a3a90e-8664b2fa77a7e089c0a8296870d1a409 Fingers crossed they can bring animal/pet/dog mode to all Polestar vehicles via an OTA update!

Rivian r2 is about 185 inches Polestar 3 and Chevy blazer is about 193 inches slightly different class sizes from the Rivian that is closer to the Ionic 5. Thanks for the informative walkthrough

Good perspective! Wild that Rivian R2 and Ioniq 5 are about the same length...goes to show how shape/form factor play in a big role in a vehicle feeling like a "true" mid-sized SUV versus a hatchback.

The front spoiler is definitely different and takes getting used to when you first see it.
But it is hidden very well and blends almost seamlessly with the front and side profile of the car.
