    how does one isolate effects on one pick up (ie what does one have to buy)?

      Run two cables to the guitar

    • @stuminnis4050
      @stuminnis4050 Год назад +1

      I’m wondering if it might be possible to use a single TRS cable instead of two TS cables to run each pickup as a separate signal to the ABY box on the board. That way you would maintain the separate signal paths but only have one actual cable to wrangle.

      he has two output jacks theyre just taped together. They can go to an AB pickup switch. John Butler runs a similar setup. John Butler uses a ernie ball ab ab pedal.

    I’ll take the simplicity of Paco De Lucia every day.
    Pedal board tap dances used to be for electric guitar players.
    Take Adrian Legg, Tommy Emmanuel, Paco De Lucia, etc, etc…
    No tricks.
    Compression is the only useful tool to an acoustic player.
    The rest should be room ambiance, and in a dull room, maybe a splash of reverb (not cathedral levels 😂😂 ).
    When it becomes less about the instrument, technique, music, and more about the technology it becomes very boring and “the same.”
    The pride in the distortion sound says it all…

      it doesn't diminish someone's skill to use pedals, I don't know where you thought that turning on an OD pedal will make you forget how to play 16th note triplets.

    • @fistfullamullah
      @fistfullamullah Год назад

      It doesn’t, but it’s a trick!
      I used to have a giant touring pedal board too.
      Original echoplex, ART back in the day, Boss, DOD, , blah blah blah.
      It’s all to make it something that it’s not.
      Doesn’t matter what you think.
      I can tell you that it’s easier to mask up sloppiness with tricks than it is to play it clean.
      That’s common knowledge.@@Chibi_Bendrix

      @Shred Yairi Sure as soon as you compress the signal it becomes easier to hide legato weakness. I don't know, I think if you're using effects consciously to cover your lack of ability that's cool?
      I'm more about using effects as a means of expression.

      @@fistfullamullah "it's a trick" lol yes it is...& so are arpeggios, flamenco, & various other music theory techniques(1), then there's knowledge or mastery over the various tricks of your instrument itself-ie; extended techniques (=any way in which an instrumemt is used to make sound, that goes beyond the original indended means of the instrument, say placing a pencil between the strings & frets to give it a much higher/tughter litch as well as a much more bendable fretlless sprt of playability, or playimg a guitar with a bow, or actually what he's doing in this clip when he smacks his guitar like a drum is also an extended technique)(2) you perahps could call mastery over things like slide or pick technique, as well as the actually mastery of knowing every aspect of your instrument & signal chain strings/bridges/pickups/mics/cables/amps/inside & out as all part of (2)...but I sort of think of those things etc. It's all tricks, everything everyone does is some sort of "trick". Trick is just another word for "technique"... & you can essentially aproximate/measure a person's skill level by ranking how good they are at each if their "tricks" (then apply so.e sort of weight measure for each technique/skills relative significance to their performance abilities(since their not all =y useful/nor r they all equally useful to every player...i.e. 1 player can be significantlybetter at say slide techniques )

    • @fistfullamullah
      @fistfullamullah Год назад

      Yep, that’s one opinion!
      The fact that you suggested Flamenco is a trick was as far as I needed to read. You blew yourself up with that statement for sure.
      Your concept of what a “trick” is sounds skewed.
      I’m guessing your bedroom “studio” is full of voice correction, distortion, massive plate reverbs and everything else besides!
      Hahaha!….
      A trick by definition is something that it is not!
      Look it up!
