    One thing that I wanted to mention in the video is the lettering below the buttons has a tendency to rub off easily. What I recommend doing is putting a clear coat over the text. You could use something as simple as clear nail polish to get the job done. I went ahead and did that last night.

    After 90 years Kalorik would benefit to heed the feedback from a user's perspective. I've reviewed many test videos on this item and find myself looking elsewhere... Until I see less of the unevan cooking results and the addition of a memory setting to enjoy the experiance that much more. A great point by point video, very well done!

    I saw a fair number of comments about smoke coming out of the oven. For any kind of ccoking that will create dripping grease/fat, i.e. rotisserie meats, bacon, steak, it is always best to put water in the drip tray. This way the fat/oil/grease will not burn and create smoke. It also make it so much easier to clean.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  Год назад

      That definitely is one way to get around it although it is not something that I practice. I tried to cook things below their smoke point so that smoke is not generated.

    I bought this oven from Walmart close to 2 years ago and I love it. I use it almost every single day. My only "complaint " is that I didn't get the bacon or steak pans and have looked but can't find them to buy. I make due with no problem . I'd be lost without this oven now.

      It is definitely my favorite device and I'd be lost without it as well. You are definitely not missing out on the bacon insert, I honestly never use it. Nowadays when I want bacon I either use the air Fry basket or the steak tray comboed with the drip pan. I believe you can get the steak tray and bacon insert from the manufacturer by emailing helpme@kalorik.com .

      Thanks for checking out my video Kim. Do you mean the black drip pan or the silver crumb tray? Either case they should both fit in there comfortably. The doors are not the sturdiest but they should stay in place ok. The first one I bought the doors were misaligned. Kalorik replaced it with this one which was better. I also noticed with the original device the trays were really tight and the replacement device the trays fit in a lot easier.

    Also I forgot to mention Chef Jamie Gwen from The Food Network mentioned in one of her tutorials that you don’t have to preheat and just to pop in whatever you are cooking/baking into the air fryer which saves 30% of cooking. According to your video and many other videos I watched you mentioned preheat heating and once the air fryer stops blinking the air fryer is done pre heating. Should I preheat my oven or go straight to baking or cooking? I apologize for all of my questions but want to make sure I’m using my air fryer the correct way.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 года назад +1

      Definitely no need to apologize for asking questions. The only bad question is one that's never asked. I met Chef Jamie Gwen once about 15 or so years ago. I was in a different line of work and my company sent me as a representative to be on the radio for a computer spot. Next up was chef Jamie Gwen. She listened to me while she was driving into the radio station. She gave me a nice compliment on my voice. Very nice lady. Aside from that, yes you should always preheat. It definitely makes a difference.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 года назад

      The silver aluminum tray is a crumb tray and always goes below the heating elements. It should never be placed above them as it could cause some serious damage to the Maxx. The black tray is a drip pan and as long as you tightly cover it with foil you should be okay.

  • @kajalsingh9554
    @kajalsingh9554 2 года назад

    Cover the crumb tray with aluminum foil. Replace foil as it gets dirty. I do that for all my ovens, even the big ones. Use wax/parchment paper on the other trays depending on what you are baking. Great video.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for tuning in and your comment. Using foil to cover the accessories is not recommended. It is fine for a regular oven. I belong to a few air fryer groups (Not just Kalorik but other brands as well) and have seen various issues from people not heeding the warning in the manual. Wax paper and parchment paper can be used to bake on so long as the temperature does not exceed the temperature listed for each of those products. In air fry mode since it uses a fan to blow hot air in a downward direction I would recommend 50 degrees lesser than the upper temp limit of parchment and wax papers. In oven mode those materials can be used up to the high temperature specs of those papers. If you wish to use liners / mats on/in pans I would honestly recommend silicone mats / liners since they can handle higher heat (depending on the manufacturer).

      Thank you very much for the kind thoughts. Two to three inches is not enough. It needs to have at least 4 in on the top, sides, and rear. Otherwise it will overheat and may not come back to life after hearing certain things from people.

    Thank you so much for this helpful tutorial. I learned 2 mistakes from your video Bc I rushed to make air fried chicken for the very first time using the Maxx air fryer. Of course I washed all of the accessories in soap and hot water. My 1st mistake is I didn’t burn in the oven and went straight to air frying my chicken. Since I didn’t do that step should I burn in the oven before I use my air fryer again? Second mistake is when I pulled out the air fryer out of the package I notice 2 metal parts in the styrofoam but assumed that wasn’t part of the accessories and just to secure the air fryer in it’s packaging. I purchased the Maxx 1 week ago and after watching your video I pulled the thumb screws out of the styrofoam. Tomorrow is garbage day and luckily I didn’t throw the box away yet. So thank you for this helpful information. I do have a question in regards to the air fryer. Is it normal to have a gap between the handles on the French doors and hot air escaping out of the gap?

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 года назад +1

      The burning process is to make sure there are no manufacturing oils left inside before you cook. Even though you used it once I would still go ahead and do that stuff. That is definitely fortunate that you were able to save the screws before the trash collection came by. It definitely is normal to have a gap in between the French doors. It really doesn't seem to affect things. Thank you so much for tuning in and your comment. Always happy to answer people's questions.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  Год назад +1

      It depends on the placement but overall in general I would not recommend operating it underneath the cabinet. You may cause damage to the cabinet and or the device. The device needs to breathe from the sides, top and rear. You can certainly store it underneath the cabinet but during operation I would pull it out if possible.

    I have the Kaloric Maxx with touch screen. Ordered it on June26,'23. Arrived June 29,'23. Used it for 2 and
    a half weeks. Loved it! But all of a sudden I plugged it in and nothing worked. Very disappointed! I contacted the company and I am now waiting to hear what will be done. I did not ask for a refund. I would

      Hi Ray, from what I understand Costco in Canada and the United States sells a version that does not come with all the accessories. Thank you for the great review! I have 2 questions regarding presets:
    - if you change the presets ( time and temp) for any of the functions, are they remembered after the oven is turned off and turned back on again ? ...and
    - if you select a function (say TOAST) and the oven is turned off, does it stay in TOAST when the oven is turned back on ?
    This would be very useful to people who would use the oven in one mode a lot of the time so they won't have to re-select the preferred settings every time.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 года назад +1

      Thank you so much for the kind thoughts and for watching my review. If you change the preset time and temperature for a function it is not remembered after the cycle is complete. additionally when the device is powered off and back on it does not go back to the previous function. I could see how that might be useful but to be honest I usually only use air fry or bake. A lot of the functions are just gimmicks and not really necessary. There are a few exceptions though. Steak mode is needed in order to air Fry at 500°. Broil is needed in oven mode to go up to 500 degrees with only the top heating elements. Dehydrate is needed to allow for a Time longer than 2 hours and a temperature low enough to dehydrate. Proofing is needed in bake mode to allow for a temperature low enough to proof dough. Aside from that none of the other functions are needed or necessary. I actually wish they would get rid of them.

      I think you are on the wrong video because this device does not have a charcoal filter. The grill version of the Maxx has the charcoal filter. If you already had a countertop convection oven then it is pretty much the same thing as an airfryer oven with the exception of the way it moves the air. Hope the manufacturer gets back to you.
