This is literally how I always paint 😅 having come into the hobby from military modelling I decided to just do things in my style and use the paint I already own, so lots of drab, washed out colours and heavy weathering, certainly makes my ad-mech stand out in their ww2 inspired camouflage scheme anyway
Love this sort of thing!! Don’t let people say it’s not “lore accurate” or anything. As long as it’s not thick primary colours slapped on, it’s fine by me
Real great war vibe to the choices you made, a bunch of those advancing together would just look right. I do like the base, I'd be tempted to use hollow base and grout under the gravel finish to get some depth to the ground so I could add some deepish ruts, with a glint of water in the bottom. Then cutting tufts into 4 or 5 parts to add one really sparse weed would actually make it look even more barren. For Kreig I'd cut tiny paper semi-circles to glue in a pair half way up the tuft to paint as a poppy. Suggestive, evocative but also a splash of vibrancy to make the guy look darker and grimmer.
If you magnetize the contact points of your minis with your bases (a small piece sheet of metal glued under the base) you can make your dream come true by making your minis magnet swappable on the bases. Nice Video, great result and i always like to see someone using oil colours on miniatures
Very nice scheme Andy. I feel like DKoK always show up in the classic blueish grey scheme, this is a nice change while still sticking to the 'great war' vibe!
Great tutorial! So helpful to have all these nice brown recipes - I always struggle with making brown look interesting. And really dig the natural bases. I think it suits the model and paint scheme. Dipping into a more historical diorama style.
Very nice! I love these models and I think it's finally time to bite the bullet and branch out into oils and weathering powder. I so wish we get the shock troops in plastic next. They are similar to krieg in the sense of cloaks and gas masks. Thank for the video!
Absolutely love this. Was gonna do my renegades this type of scheme. This vid has reignited my interest and will give it a go rather soon. Also this the base, whilst basic, looks great. Especially if you've got a LOT of these guys to do (full dkok army)
Wicked video love this style, the base was so quick and effective think if it was different textures on there as in the sand maybe couple of rocks possibly sprinkle on dry mud then painted that way would sell the realism more definitely gonna give it a go cause I blinked and missed it 🤣🤣 great video have an edge to paint leather now
I like the look of the base and I like the look of the mini, but not entirely sure they go together well. I think the different styles is the issue. One is natural and the other painterly. That being said, I think I like to experiment with these kind of bases myself and see how the look in real life and if needed, how I can adjust them.
Nice. Now i only need the minis. And the paints. And the ability. May i suggest you edit the title to put the uniform color? This seems like the 158th siege regiment.
In case you don't get a response from CoP, whenever I use oils I try to let them dry overnight but if needed I will give it half an hour and then use a hairdryer on high heat & low force to avoid it blasting the oil everywhere.
Welllll... we would like to have awarded you the Golden Demon Slayer Trophy... it was a dead heat between you and another... they were neck and neck... until we turned them upside down. I'm sorry but if you are going to use the inside of the base as a mixing palette... I'm sorry we just can't do it.
it looks fantastic. best Krieg Ive seen on YT. Totally my taste.

Absolutely love this alternate green scheme for Krieg. I also think the base came out really solid for the amount of work!
I am going to use your base technique when I paint my DKOK for Kill team. Thank you.
Delicious model and love the pigments on the base.

The greens look great!
Great colour scheme, really digging it. The base looks really nice too, quick and easy.
l would love to seen a snow version of these guys
Addicted to this style and color scheme. So clean!
This is outstanding mate. Wow. 100% will try to follow this guide! Thank you so much for taking the time to produce, edit and share.
Brilliant video, I would love to see a tutorial on painting Death Korp tanks! Also great base 👍🏼
I love this colour scheme! I prefer it to the standard one tbh.
Craig is gonna love these 😉😅
Clean and simple, looks great 👍👌👏

Great tutorial! Love the colors used and usage of oil paints.
Can’t wait to get my hands on these myself, this tutorial will really come in handy when I do, thanks guys!
This is a great colour scheme. I will have to pick up a box of these models when they are available separately. Thanks for sharing!
This could not have been more perfect for Kreig.
Very nice scheme Andy. I feel like DKoK always show up in the classic blueish grey scheme, this is a nice change while still sticking to the 'great war' vibe!
Love it
Base is great l always look for ideas for bases

Looks great. Super nice scheme and love the process, please show us a the whole kill team with the mecharius!!
Really love that base, might have to try and copy it for my orks
Thank you for the handy tutorial and would you mind to share how to airbrush with regular GW paints?

Fantastic tutorial Andy. Really got the format down, aces all round!

This was awesome! TY

I like it, this painting style would also work with tbe grey blue colours of the box art deathkorp

ANDYYYY PLEASE DO THE KOMMANDOS I LOVE YOUR PAINTING STYLE AND ME AND MY FRIEND ARE SPLITTING THE BOX AND HE GOT THE KRIEG
I keep forgetting I can paint these things whatever color I want. The green is way better than the blue.
Now that Cadians are getting a refresh will you paint them for us when you get ahold of the new models!
Oh yes. A lot.
@@cultofpaint So excited for that!
Added pressure for doing the Macharius Tank please Andy.
nice job
Wonderful!!! Are those transfers the included transfers from Kill Team 2021?
So would adding edge highlighting to a weathered piece, such as these, not look quite right?
This model is the shit, great work. Would you still use the brown pre-highlight for the grey-blue scheme or something else?
When ever I see this kind of green on military type minis/figures it always reminds me of the UNSC. Love the paint job
Greatvid. How long do you have wait for the oil to dry before being able to play with the model?
In case you don't get a response from CoP, whenever I use oils I try to let them dry overnight but if needed I will give it half an hour and then use a hairdryer on high heat & low force to avoid it blasting the oil everywhere.
Can someone tell me what varnish he was using or some recommendations for good ultra matt varnishes?
Lucky Varnishes by MiG. They do an excellent Ultramatte, as do AK
@@cultofpaint Thank you very much :)
Cool
Are you sure the pigment is slate grey? It seems more like Desert Dust

Can I ask where did you get decals?
Wait a minute, how long has the video been called death korps of craig?
I don't know who he is, but Craig must be well chuffed to get his very own regiment... 😁
Can i paint this scheme without airbrush? using spray cans?
Happy gas mask sounds
Can this be dont with brush?
The scheme reminds me of ww2 soviet tanks
28mm bases was a good choice.
Forget plastic Krieg. I wanna see plastic Valhallans!
5:09
Still waiting for mine 😡
Dont wanna be that guy but its actually written "krieg", you reversed the "e" and the "i"
Great video tho, really enjoyed it
Open the video, see airbrush, close the video.
Why is it when a random white girl dances she gets millions of likes but when something with skill like this is uploaded it doesn’t even get 1k??
