So i think after gun mettle update the lock n load is a bit less overpowered but still a useful weapon, that fast pipe travel is actually really good ! I think the sould get it buffed by just 125 damage so you coud again hit kill any under 125 hp class (like scout or sniper) Thats my opinion of the lock n load, be free to correct me ;)

Thanks for this. I'm fairly new to HS and it helped me understand how important it is to know the other decks in the meta in order to play control well. It also explains why I'm so bad at playing control.
Problem of the card is that almost every hunter spell is situational. Dealing 2 damage and drawing a card for 2 cards and 3 mana is complete trash if the 2 damage isn't relevant. Traps might work with it somehow, but hunter secrets don't work together.
I watch Kripp more than I play the game. I get serious comfort when he's talking about cards and making the hand gestures of a real deck. 'Tack that, Mortal coil. etc etc'
I might be wrong but I think the most interesting fact about this card is it's the first spell to have an ongoing trigger ( Something like "Whenever/Each time [...] until [...]" ) which means there's a precedent for such cards. Maybe they were mainly testing that mechanic on a class that wouldn't really use it or that would at worst be pushed toward a more controlish style so they could do it with cards that would more greatly benefit from it later.

Its funny how people reacted to the cards Mysterious challanger and Lock and load. If pros talked about Mysterious challanger everyone in chat was like "wooow 100 dust next card ResidentSleeper" And when they talked about lock and load everyone was like "Dammm best card in tgt gonna build deck around that"

Was the hunter clip from tavern brawl? the one where you lost hp and gained a minion?
I wonder if running one or 2 copies of lock and load in a hybrid type of hunter deck could act as a decent win condition against decks, that counter it (like dragon priest, freeze mage, control warrior etc) or whether that would weaken the aggro vs aggro matchups too much

How about using lock and load as a replacement for top-decking or no draw potential?
Is it really that many facehunters out there? I'm facing that archetype on rare occasions lately. Basically meta I'm seeing now is midrange/hybrid hunters and druids, CW and secret pally.
Anyone else noticed that they replaced the Tavern Brawl with an older one? Normally it was that you get to choose out of 3 random cards each turn and get to pick one. Like an automatic Tracking.

What about you can a spell or play a beast you get a card as a buff. Sure the text is complicated but really makes more playable. Probably OP though.

I'm playing a "Lock n load" sort of Hunter right now, with only 4 creatures: 2 kings elekk, Thaurissan and Malygos. Funniest hunter deck ever. You should give it a try!
lock and load hunter with sparepartmechs and tinkertown . add violet teacher and maybe auctioneer and u have yourself a rly fun deck ! its one of my favourites to play
I actually played a L&L midrange hunter for quite a while at the beginning of TGT. It worked relatively well but probably just isn't as optimal as standard midrange/face hunter.

I run a pair of lock in loads in my deathrattle hunter deck instead of the usual pair of secrets/eaglehornbow/mad scientists(subbed it for feign of deaths and the 7-mana weapon and more death rattle minions). Going toe to toe late game with handlocks and control warrior has never been so easy :).
So Malygos Hunter running two lock and loads wouldn't work too well?
kripp you should try playing a lock and load deck. there's a pretty sweet deck out there that only has king's elekk, thaurissen and highmane (and traps) for creatures and runs all spells and lock and load. you're basically guaranteed to draw the big guys from elekk and you get so much value out of lock and load. it's REALLY good but it's way too slow for the meta

Lol the hunter missed lethal in first clip, he had the quickshot and hero power for 5 but played river crocolisk and hero powered instead?
all hunter needs are good early control minions maybe something like a 1/2 with stealth n poison.
I got 2 lock and loads with one burgle spell once and played a buch of spells with 2 lock and loads active.
Still lost though because the cards I drew were crap :P

I really enjoy lock and load, especially in my secret hunter deck it keeps my hand full when normally it's empty, nerfing this card wouldn't even hurt the deck though honestly

i like Lock & Load in a trap-based deck. i own every hunter card, as well as every card that's ever been in a top tier hunter deck, so i get a lot of variety to play.
there are some days when i have 6 completely different hunter decks in my list.

the secret hunter was my first deck ever, and it evolved into the trap/dragon deck with BRM, because my goal from the start was to make a Yu-Gi-Oh themed deck.
and i usually have either face hunter or midrange hunter, not both. i play them when i get frustrated with agro decks to cool off.
I just realized blitz was riffing matrix 3 with this.

I wish there were more lock and load hunters out there, it is a really good idea for a deck and is much less stupid than secret paladin/face hunter (not less stupid than mech mage I don't think) and it would also bring variance on ladder for hunter, so the time you faced one you would not know immediately that it is a face hunter.
I mean, mech mage is less stupid than lock and load hunter, the way I wrote it seemed the other way

Lock and load just doesn't do enough. It makes all your real spells cost 2 more, and the reward is too random.
Also when you chain two L&L together, you are still restricted by hand size.

Lock and Load needs to be a 0 mana card to see any play at all. The 2 mana cost just makes it too difficult to get spell chains going.
