Are you sure that the woman speaking has a ID-card to clear out her credibility, cause where are the other officials - I have NEVER seen this kind of post-incident "door-step" to give info to the press by ONLY ONE person standing alone. If the wounded survivor is the culprit, everything found by a unsanctioned or warrantless search will be challenged by his defense and tossed out due to 4th amendment violations. The police have to follow all procedures and protocols for sound evidentiary collection.
The woman speaking is a spokesman for the police agency. They have not had time to arrange a formal press conference with all the important people lined up. I think she is doing a fine job of keeping the press informed.
