I would put a plexiglass window into the dust collection box so you could see how dusty it is, observe functionality, and see the wheels spin if you step back (but not get distracted by them while cutting since the window is only into the bottom wheel where it is needed)
I would paint the new cover. After watching your video, I now know how I am going to change my dust issues with my old Delta bandsaw, and it will have paint to match the rest of the saw.
U can use H beam or I beam so you can put bolts from both sides , and last cover it using 1/4 in plates, I have the same 14in bandsaw, watching from ZANZIBAR ISLANDS
@@GregsWorkshopOregon If you can spray lacquer paint try taking the cover you removed to a local Automotive paint store and to see if they can match the color.
Bro, thank you for sharing ideas, I have the same bandsaw machine but named TAUCO , watching from ZANZIBAR ISLANDS

I'm enjoying your videos, Greg! Keep it up! That's a beautiful bandsaw, by the way. What a great find!
Thank you! Lots of good stuff coming up this winter.
I have your Bandsaw's baby brother ( 1953 10" ). I have been looking for a riser block but can not find one 😞

congrats . . . did you consider a long slot opening for dust collection vs the round port ?
Nice find and great job Greg. What a great old saw. I'd paint the new cover the same color as the saw.
Thank you! I'm leaning that way but nobody has had the correct color in stock.

Nice job and nice old saw. Grab a can of Rust oleum machine gray and make it match.
Thanks George. I bought machine gray but it's a little dark, I'm going to try winter gray if I can find any in stock.
Great idea and video! Did you end up painting it?
Nice old saw
Thank you! I'm very pleased with it so far.
Nice saw, appears to be a great find!
I agree! My multiple visits to CL every day really paid off.
Paint it…the rest of the saw will appreciate that…😎
Put the knobs on backwards
