    Thank you so much Gena!! This was so helpful to me. Thanks for explaining how the leaves look when they need water. The propagation info was very helpful too. This whole video gets 10 stars imo. Im trying to nurture my baby Linearis and not kill it.

    Very informative and helpful. My linearis is a slow grower but maybe I’m not watering it often enough. I am very cautious because of root rot. It’s a delicate balancing act between too much and not enough water for Hoya!

    • @ThePinkTrellis
      @ThePinkTrellis  Год назад +2

      Hi, Karen! I'm glad it was helpful for you!!! With my linearis, I've never run into problems with overwatering/root rot. I would say your best bet is to look for those cues I mentioned. After you water it, look at it daily to catch when it goes limp (needs water). You want to try to catch it right before that wilting. Eventually you should be able to figure out when to water it right before it's past time/wilting. For me personally, when the top inch or so is dry and the pot feels lighter than when I last watered it, I go ahead and water again. The only time my plant gets wilted, is if I overlooked/accidently skipped watering it on it's regular scheduled watering day. Hopefully this makes some sense :). Thanks again!

    I’d love to see your grow light set up! My hubby spent a fortune on sole tech grow lights for our anniversary : years ago and I’ve yet to set them up. 🤣
    Question.. I have 3 small plants and I’m dying to get them bushy, I have a couple stems where there is nodes but no leaf can I plant each node without the leaf in a pot? Ty

    • @ThePinkTrellis
      @ThePinkTrellis  Месяц назад

      Oh no….set those up!!! 😂
      I don’t have any sol tech lighting. Wish I did lol. You can definitely grow from leafless nodes but I’d try it in sphagnum moss and place in bright lighting with high humidity. That has worked for me. If you go the pot route with soil, you’re still going to want to put it in high humidity. Warmth, light, and humidity are the keys to success 😊.

    Hope to see those babies in your shop soon! I wanted to tell you I found white variegated schefelera yesterday at Walmart! They are tiny and green part is not as nice as yours, I really like how almost black yours look. I hope it might be because it is still young. They were only $5 so I got one for mom as well.

    Hi, loving your video, glad I found you. Regarding the zip lock bag how often should I open it? I always get mold and the plants die on me 😢😢😢

    • @ThePinkTrellis
      @ThePinkTrellis  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you!!! So glad you found this helpful :). If you are experiencing problems with mold, you might want to try not closing the ziplock bag all the way and see if that makes a difference. You will have to keep an eye on things more to be sure it doesn't dry out if you do it this way.
      I have a few plants propagating in ziplock bags right now and I open the bag at least every other day (for a few seconds) to get some fresh air in there and haven't had any problems. Hope that helps!!!! Thanks again :).

    Thank you for another great video Gena!
    The linearis is probably my favorite Hoya. Not only is it baby bunny soft but it’s beautiful and a fast grower. I started some linearis props in fluval stratum about two weeks ago and they’ve rooted like crazy already.
    I love the mid century planter you found! What a happy color!
    I have an off topic (kinda) question. I may be meeting family in Denver soon and I’d really like to go to a nursery or two. Are there any that you would recommend especially for hoyas or uncommon aroids?

    • @ThePinkTrellis
      @ThePinkTrellis  Год назад

      Hi, Sherry!!!! Thanks so much!!!! So as far as Denver plant shops, I wish I had a recommendation for you, but I've yet to make the trip downtown to the plant shops so I have no idea LOL. I remember Summer Rayne Oakes did a plant shop tour video (she visited several plant shops actually), in Denver. They all looked very interesting. If you haven't seen her video, check it out. I might be really helpful in figuring out good ones to visit. I was recommended a shop in Denver that has an amazing selection of aroids, but I can't remember the name, but apparently they are THE place to go for aroids. I wish I knew the name...sorry!!!!

    Hello, would u say the same care goes for Hoya Retusa ( which urs is absolutely beautiful) as ur Linearis? Especially not allowing to dry out ? I have one I will be repotting soon from a 4 in container & I'm so in luv with the wildness of it I probably pamper it too much hoping nothing happens to it. O' the madness of it all lol. Thank U

    • @ThePinkTrellis

      Hi Dorothy! Actually, my Retusa dries out between waterings and it’s completely fine with that. Other than that, same care for both. Keep up the pampering. It means you’re paying attention, and will spot when something goes wrong ❤️❤️❤️.

    Can you use a heating pad on low for a little while each day?

    • @ThePinkTrellis
      @ThePinkTrellis  3 месяца назад

      I think that would be ok. Just put something between the pot and the pad. Even the actual heat pads made for plants get pretty warm so I think it would be very similar. Only real difference is a heating pad isn’t waterproof and the temperature can also be turned up much higher.
