- Propagation update on Hoya retusa, linearis, latifolia (macrophylla). In this video, we are going to go over all of the propagations that we have done together on my channel. I will walk you through the whole process. How long it took, did I use the propagation box, heat mat? I will share everything I got, so you can have success with your propagations also. Wow! They’re all looking great!! Thank you for sharing this update on them! If you repot them to make your pots fuller, can you show us how you do that? For instance, do you take the Mama plant completely out, or do you just make a hole in the soil for the new cuttings? I’m curious to see how you do it.

Thank you! 💚 It depends. I will probably just make a hole and slide them in there since roots are still pretty small. If I was moving mama plant into a larger pot then I would obviously take her out and plant babies with her.

I’ve never seen a Hoya retusa on a trellis but I suppose it could be interesting.
It’s still on a trellis, but I think I want to put it in the hanging pot 😊.

love the channel very informative but I would like to know when to water the propagation while in the prop box how long did it take to dry up on a heating mat ?
Propagations on a heat mat if they are in the box (and I do have holes on my box lids they are also under a crow light) I water once a week. That’s why I like my propagation medium. You can actually see when they dry out. Medium turns light brown, very helpful.

Great video! I have one in a hanging basket that I purchased a month ago.. can you tell me if you let these completely dry out before watering? Mine is in a pretty chunky soil and after I watered last time I had a few leaves go a bit yellow., I didn’t know if I let it dry out too much 🤷🏻♀️
I also have a baby in a 2’ pot just like yours.. it’s small so I water more then the pot.,
I also have a linearis baby and not sure how often I should water.. I have new growth on the tip but lost a leaf closer to pot so not sure if I watered to late. Your white hanging pot is gorgeous.. watering this size would be a challenge for me to know when to water..

Hi Tracy! Thank you! 💚 Watering is always tricky until you get to know your plant. I gauge it by feeling leaves. When they get softer than usual that is when I water. Linearis is a little different, if you look closer at the leaf there is a little crease, if it’s plumped then it does not need water. Also you can look at the vine, when leaves are sticking out a little bit then it’s fine if they lay closer to vine then it needs to be watered. I hope I answered your questions. 😊

What is your Hoya potting mix. Is it the same as what you root them in? If not do you have a video I can watch ?
Video I just released last Monday, I show my potting mix and talk about it. It is different from my propagating medium. It’s a Latifolia pot of gold video 😊.
