    Mathilde is such a fast grower. I got a tiny pot with three cuttings back in November and now have a full plant and a second one getting bigger by the day

    PureCrop1 is like gold for plants especially Hoya. I have been using it as a foliage spray but now thinking about using it watering substrate.❤ Also, Doug Chamberlain loves it.

      I absolutely agree! I discovered this product a little over a year ago and it’s definitely my go to product. As of watering with it I had reservations for a little while until I had some root mealybugs issues and it works so well without any damage. Also I’ve been watering all of my other plants with it, including Antheriums and all of them responded very well to it.

      Question. What is the formula you use for watering? thank you.@@ElenasGreenPlanet

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet

      I just put two capfuls from that metal bottle concentrate (I think it would be about 2 teaspoons of concentrate) into my watering can, it looks as it holds 1.66 liters of water and it seems to be sufficient. When I originally ordered a year ago, they sent me card with instructions and that’s how I came up with this measurements. There is also instructions on a large container and you can see it in pictures on Amazon, it all depends on the size of the watering can that you use. I wish I had a better answer for you, but I hope this helps 😊.

      The site says 1.28 ounces to 1 gallon which equals 128 oz. I believe. I never thought about using it as a root drench or watering with it. They say you can use it combined with nutrients@@ElenasGreenPlanet

    Great video, very informative. Your plants are gorgeous! 😍
    I have to ask, where did you get that gorgeous elephant planter? It’s so colorful, I just love it!
    Thank you! 🙏

      Thank you! 💚 I got this planter at the local plant shop maybe three years ago. I absolutely love that thing also. I have never seen them again, but hopefully you can find it online somewhere. It’s pretty small. It’s only holds maybe 2 inch pot. That little cup that sits in there it’s from chocolate pudding and it fits perfect.

      Thank you so much, for responding. 🙏
      If I can find it, I will definitely buy it, I don’t care how small it is! lol!
      I also, have used small pudding cups for plants, in small planters! Hahaha! If it works, it works! lol! 😂

    Thanks for the information especially about that Pure Crop product. I found the strangest pest on my alderachi flores island that I cleaned off with alchohol and trimmed the root rot. It was an after midnight operation. I don't like pests either and in Florida well we have plenty. I dont think it liked being behind my fish tank not enough air circulation. I have found that even though a plant can look healthy with lots of new growth there can be problem waiting to attack.
    I have a question..it probably is a dumb question I don't know even if it's dumb...so what I want to ask is what do those codes mean such as EPC etc? I have trying to find out but honestly maybe i'm not asking the question correctly.

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  5 месяцев назад

      It is absolutely not a dumb question, but I get where you are coming from. All of this is so confusing to me also. Enough, there is consistent name changes, there is also all this codes. They do have a meaning but I personally gave up on trying to figure them out. I just want to grow and enjoy my plants. I’m definitely not looking to become a botanist 😂 but that just me. I believe Basie plants channel is really good for that. He dives pretty deep into all of that and he keeps up on name changes pretty well. I will leave that job to him 😁. Check out his channel if you want to really understand all of those codes and what they mean.
      Wish you best of luck on your strange pest! It’s definitely never ending job.

      LOL... it is not just me then. Okay I do know NOID means no identification but no idea otherwise.
      And I just orded that PureCrop1 and I am glad you brought it to my attention.

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  5 месяцев назад

      And look at us, we are perfectly capable of growing Hoyas without all of that knowledge 😂. The only thing I care to research if it’s a cool or warm climate Hoya and what lighting it prefers a lot of times location will kind of let you know. Other stuff, I don’t have time or energy for it.
      I’m so glad that you ordered pure crop 1. Hopefully it will help you with your mystery bug 😊.

    How to treat scale bugs on hoyas? Thank you!❤

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  2 месяца назад

      Thankfully I never had scale on my Hoyas but I’ve had it once on my False Aralea. I didn’t know how to treat it for scale but what I did, I just scraped them off and then I used Captain Jack’s dead bug brew. I have never had an issue with that plant again. It is still alive and I still have it. Try that, it definitely worked for me 😊.

    i always love your content. a friend gave me a Mathilde cutting with about 6 nodes. i tried to cut and propagate in perlite in a prop box and they all died. i know i will be trying the again but instead of cutting to prop, I'll just stick in some water to root. i LOVE that elephant pot you have yours in. do you mind saying where you purchased?

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  5 месяцев назад +1

      Oh no, I wish you best of luck next time. Make sure you let them sit for a while so the cut closes up before you propagate them, otherwise they will just rot.
      I love that elephant pot too. I got it about three years ago at the local plant shop and for some reason, I’ve never seen them again. I found some online that are similar, but I don’t know why they were ridiculously expensive.

      @@ElenasGreenPlanet hi again. i have never wanted a pot as much as i want one like the elephant you have here. i continually look online and nothing has come up yet. it looks like a Talavera. could you please check and see if you see a name? thank you

    Did you have root mealies that you could see? Or did you treat empirically? As a preventative against having root mealies.

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I had to treat some root mealys. Thankfully just a few plants and they were in my propagation clear cups so I was definitely able to see them and now they are gone. I do have a couple of plants that still have a little bit of them left but I think after a few more waterings they will be gone completely. Rest of the plants I have been watering with pure crop 1 just for prevention.

    is there a specific time to spray them because i hear that with some products you have to use them early in the morning or at night

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  4 месяца назад +1

      I’m not sure if there is specific time for this particular product. I treat my plants whenever I have time but I do wait for them to dry off before I put them back under a grow light to avoid burning. So far have not had any problems.

      I’ve been using this product for over a year as a foliage spray for regular infestations and prevention but watering my plants with it I started recently. When I made this video, it was three weeks. Now it’s going on five weeks and they are doing great.

    What ate the signs to look for for root mealy bugs?

    • @ElenasGreenPlanet
      @ElenasGreenPlanet  5 месяцев назад +1

      Since they are feeding on roots, it’s very hard to detect them unless you take it out of a pot. That’s why I like to grow my cuttings in a clear plastic cups. First sign would be if you look at the plant it would not grow, or grow very slow also, you can have some yellow spotting on the leaves next stage would be dehydrated foliage. It takes a while before you see those signs but after a while, plant gets too weak and dies. The good thing, it is a pretty slow process and we have time to do something about it.
