    I read that Manjula is a cross between N’Joy and Marble Queen (not Pearls and Jade).
    My baby Manjula has finally decided that it’s happy and is growing like a champ. I imagine it will take years to get as long as yours though. Beautiful plant! 💚

    • @ThePinkTrellis
      @ThePinkTrellis  11 месяцев назад +3

      Hi Karen! I saw both listed as the cross. Marble Queen makes more sense to me though. There’s so much conflicting info out there. Don’t be surprised if it just suddenly takes off. Once it’s happy there’s no stopping it lol.

    I was gifted one of these.
    I hadn't heard of this type before so off to RUclips I went 😂.
    It has a stand that has reverted, so it's like I got two in one 😉😂
    I love pothos and philodendrons, typically such easy growers. Thank you for this video.

    PERFECT timing on this video. I just removed my Manjula from the old bird cage and cur it up too. It was struggling as it was. I gave it a moss pole that I have not been keeping wet. Mostly t is support. I propped several stems to put back into what is the new mother plant pot once they are well rooted. Just started her all over. It is such a pretty plant. I had no idea it reverted to Global green. Editing to add I also had a lot of the bare stems. I only have a couple pothos that I have had for years and years . I have found they just need to be totally started over after a while. Yours is such a beauty. i think she has lots of good years left in her. Chopping her now is a great idea.

    • @ThePinkTrellis
      @ThePinkTrellis  11 месяцев назад +1

      Did you know they only have a 5 year life-span? I discovered that after I made the video. I hope that is a typo LOL. I just looked it up again. So it's 5-10 years. Still makes me sad. Hopefully mine is at the longer end of that life expectancy. When pothos decides to get ugly (bare stems) they really get ugly LOL. My marble queen is doing that. I need to chop that one up too!

    • @shadesofidaho
      @shadesofidaho 11 месяцев назад

      @@ThePinkTrellis OK Then This kind of says it all.I have had to restart my old pothos plants 3 or 4 times totally from scratch. I have had them since the mid to late 70's. So maybe this is the truth. just think no leaf is going to last 10 or even 5 years. Maybe why they do get so many bare stems. It is kind of what Suzette and I have ben discussing about renewing our older plants.
      Many current youtubers have not had their plants as long as us old plant parents. So this has not really come to light for many. It is all very interesting. So glad you brought this little bit on their expected life span up.

    • @ThePinkTrellis
      @ThePinkTrellis  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@shadesofidaho it’s all pretty interesting. For me this is another reason why I won’t go out of my way to try and get giant leaves on my Pothos, because they aren’t going to last anyways. Just my opinion on it. It’s not worth the effort for me.

    • @shadesofidaho
      @shadesofidaho 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@ThePinkTrellis Right. I did find the Hawaiian pothos seemed to naturally put out a larger leaf. And doe to space restrictions and lack of hanging space I did grow mine up trellises. I did get slightly larger leaves. Those huge leaves are beautiful but like you they are not my goal to try and create.

    I love Manjulas. I bought several plants and cuttings to get started. I have not been fortunate enough to find any in garden centers until my recent find in Home Depot. My Manjula has not grown that much this summer. I guess it is making roots. Thank you for the video. The information is very much needed. I am in the process of bringing my plants inside.
    I would hate to cut manjula back too. I did a hard prune on my Syngonium and it is so beautiful now. The leaves are so big. I hope it does not regress this winter.

      @ThePinkTrellis  11 месяцев назад

      I haven't seen any at the big box stores yet but my area seems slow to get the really interesting things. Just wait...one day yours will take off :).
      It's soooo hard to cut down a beautiful plant like that, but I know it's for the best and eventually the plant should be even bigger with all the new off-shoots. My syngoniums never have issue in the winter and I'm in a pretty cold climate, so I'm guessing yours will be just fine!!!! :)
