Mordecai Brown is great! He was the first T206 HOFer I got and one of my favorite pre-war players. Love the Musial and Spahn too, but all great players and cards. Nice video!
Another great video with great cards you don't see every day. I really enjoy learning more about your collecting philosophy and players who are inspired to collect. Your passion for collecting and these players really shines through in your video and your knowledge of baseball history and these obscure sets I find super interesting.
@@VintageCardWonderland thank you kindly, my friend. These are definitely the players and cards that are the biggest treasures and where I focus a great deal of my energy. I think the draw to rare cards is in my enjoyment in seeing something new. It's amazing that there are cards that are decades old that I have never seen or even heard of before. It's like finding treasure!
@@OC-MC_Joe that is very fair. I don't always target Hank since he can be bigger bucks in many sets. He is probably in the next level of dozen players I target 😂
Great selection of cards. Love the Koufax cards. Bell Brand made a 1958 set as well, but no 1959. The Bell Brand and Morrell Meats at the same time are not a coincidence. The Dodgers had just moved to many companies picked up on the craze and promotion for the team. Came over from Mark Dodger's cards
Great run of players to collect with awesome display of just one of the many cards you have for each. Love the Tip-Top Spahn of course. Thanks for sharing your collection with us.
@360stockflips thank you, and much agreed on those cards. Very tough, but enjoy the hunt! I was lucky to snag those two during the same auction from a seller. I always appreciate when folks know those rare sets and recognize the set. Thank you for sharing!
Great unique selections of players and types of cards and your perspective of why you target and acquire them. I have certain similarities in collecting and been enjoy your videos👍
I'm still looking for my focus. I have a few players I focus on (Barry Larkin, Eric Davis, David Ortiz). I also enjoy set building. I think I may have a set or two that I aim for, and pick up player cards as I find ones that I like. Great video, thanks for sharing!
@wax_nostalgic thank you, sir! It's always fun to hear how folks collect and do the hobby. No right answer, just different ways. I always liked Larkin and Davis when I was growing up. Davis is the ultimate "what could have been".
Cool selection of players and presentation. I actually started as a player collector when I was a kid - Rose, Drysdale, Carlton, and Perry were my main ones. Transitioned pretty hard to Dodgers in last few years but still have a couple non- Dodgers interests. You have some fantastic and rare cards here!
@MarksDodgersCards thank you, my friend! I blame my childhood for not having a full connection to one team. My grandfather wouldn't step into Wrigley Field if they were handing out 100 dollar bills. My other side had some loyal Cubs fans, so I grew up liking both. Spent Summers in Georgia and adopted the Braves as my next team. Ended up following players more than teams, and here we are. Do you still actively collect players outside of Dodgers or not as much these days.
@@Valuevintagecards-Aaron Cool to hear more about your background - maybe some impact on the players you've focused on? I wouldn't say I'm really collecting hard any non-Dodgers players. I really like my Greenbergs (I thin I have like 5-6) and try to pick up one every now and then. And, I still have my childhood Rose/Carlton cards that I picked up in Junior High and High School. I'll eventually compete them I think. I need the rose Rookie for Ken McMullin to complete my 1963 Dodgers team set. I also have my 1958 Topps complete set which I haven't shown much of but will some time. Its a nice set and the other cornerstone of my collection. But if I ever wanted to go for the Jackie Leaf, 52 Topps, or some super rare Keeler in a Brooklyn uniform, I'd probably have to sell it. Which is why I'll probably never get those cards :)
@MarksDodgersCards I hear you! I have the Topps Jackie and want that Leaf, too. The Rose rookie is pretty salty, but definitely get your desire to complete. Carlton is a great run, too. Can you shoot over your email again so I can send you my contact info so we can connect.
@blixcards very true, I do collect a little of everything. Aiming for 1 from any set and 1 of each hof player makes it a bit more diverse. This just helps me to dial in a little bit when possible. Thank you for always making such kind comments.

That Hornsby is so cool! Love the detail in his face and card overall, looking for one in that set now!!! THANKS

Great list of players and cards. Coulda maybe included Hank in there with the run you have plus the Johnston etc...?

great list and a wonderful array of diversity! Beautiful assessments of the players too, especially Hornsby. That's one to find!
