    Nice job, looks good. Nice to see another person use a radial arm saw besides me.

      Thank you! I always use mine to cut half laps.. way easier than the table saw IMO 👍🏻

    Hi, just a quick tip for you. As you are adding cauls to your panel glueup there is no need to add dowels to the boards. The glue is all you need for strength

    • @mmcc_woodshop6288
      @mmcc_woodshop6288  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the tip Robert! I typically uses the dowels just for alignment, but it makes sense that the cauls would prevent any misalignment. I'll try one of my next glue ups with cauls only and see how it turns out!

    Seems like you get better results from dowels than from Biscuits

    • @mmcc_woodshop6288
      @mmcc_woodshop6288  3 года назад +1

      I've never used a biscuit joiner, the dowels are definitely sturdy though. Time consuming, but they work well.

  • @rhensel001
    @rhensel001 3 года назад +1

    Good work 👍I like the table and I appreciate that you used dowels. Looks like your planer knives are leaving some kind of snipe or bump up & down the length of your boards though.

    • @mmcc_woodshop6288
      @mmcc_woodshop6288  3 года назад

      Thanks! Dowels work really well in my opinion, I use them all the time. And yes, nice observation... one of the knives had a chip in it - I changed them a couple weeks after this build. Still learning on not getting snipe though!

    • @rhensel001
      @rhensel001 3 года назад +1

      Good luck on fixing that problem. There may be some minor adjustments you can make to your planer but then again some planer models just have that defect about'm. Some worse than others regardless of the brand. You can try just keeping your boards a few inches longer so the front end cathes the snipe and you just cut that off when you cut your piece is to size. Good luck and keep building

      @@rhensel001 Never thought about about keeping the boards longer, that's a great idea! I'll definitely have to look into seeing what adjustments I can make. I've been wanting to rebuild my planer stand for awhile now, so I might make some changes!

    I was wondering if you have a set of plans available. Love your work

    • @mmcc_woodshop6288
      @mmcc_woodshop6288  2 года назад +1

      Hi Lenny! I don't have official plans available for anything yet, but here's a list of approximate dimensions based off the final size of this one.
      Top: 7" x 48" (x4) from a 2x8
      Legs: 17" (x4) from a 4x4
      Short apron: 19.5" (x4)
      Long apron: 40" (x4)
      X pieces: I don't have a guess on the length but these were ripped from a 2x4 (in half)
      Shelf: Again, don't have a guess but it's made from 1" appearance board that should just overlap the perimeter of the inside.

    • @mmcc_woodshop6288
      @mmcc_woodshop6288  3 года назад +2

      Unfortunately I don't have the dimensions - but just by guessing at what I would have done...
      Everything is approximate and I'm just guessing from how much overhang I would have left with a 48" x 28" table top. Hope that helps!

    What is the name of the machine that u run the wood through? What does it do to the wood? Sand it? Thank u

    • @mmcc_woodshop6288
      @mmcc_woodshop6288  3 года назад +1

      It's a planer. It basically shaves a thin layer off the surfaces to make the boards smoother and thinner.

      Hey Ashutosh, I didn't keep dimensions of this one but here's a guess judging by the final dimensions of the table... these measurements should be very close.
