Totally agree with all these comments. It's a very archaic process and nowhere is it outlined in any Raymarine videos or manuals, that I could find. Your video was the 'breakthrough' for me. Thanks much!
This is essentially the same process we do on our older e125. I find it ridiculous that Raymarine has not included an algorithm that just brings routes from iPad to chartplotter, ready to go. I mean really, the two units should talk to each other. Changing a waypoint on connected iPad should automatically change it on chartplotter. And transducer data should appear in Navionics app. The technology is already in there. They just don’t do it. Very good and useful explanation. 👍🏼
That’s great after so many circles Ben knowns what’s up, the circle arrows did not show up for me . My routes were all ready moved across, found with following the rest of Fab Ben’s instructions , the circle arrows happen when a new route is to be moved from iPad to axiom .
Thank you! It is mind blowing with Software capabilities today that they can't program themselves out of a paper bag. Raymarine is supposed to be the industry standard - not a good standard if you ask me. Tons of room for improvement!
That's good! I can see that Raymarine have made it a bit too clunky....so I hope Raymarine pay you for this! I would really appreciate some basic videos for Axiom and cant understand why Raymarine haven't done much about how to use their products - I was really looking for some basic operation videos showing how to set up and save a route on Axiom, including setting up and changing waypoints, reverse the route, etc
Wow, thank you so much for posting this video! I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get those routes imported. Not a very user-friendly process, but it works.
Ok, I don’t know how you figured this out. I kept looking for my route after syncing in Routes in the Lighthouse system. Crazy me, it so obviously on the card archive folder after syncing. What was I thinking. Sorry for the sarcasm but really THANK YOU. This has been driving me crazy.
Thank you very much. I've been trying to figure this out for a while now how Raymarine programmers could forget to import routes in both directions is beyond me I manage developers for years.
Super !! Thank you this made my day. It is not the most obvious, nor suffisticated way, but it works. I am a bit astouned it is a very manual proces for equipment with the price of the AXIOM plotters. Nonetheless, I am very happy. I can now prepare my routes inside the boat, with a cappuccino (and out of the rain and cold :-) and then update it once the sun comes out. Again thank you very much.
Thank you for this! Your system works beautifully! But I have found that the bearings and times to waypoints (which I have on the chart screen as data overlays) are often reversed, even though I’m following the route in the correct direction. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Shame on Raymarine for making what should be a snap so difficult. The guy who sold us the Axiom says the problem is in the sync from the unsupported third-party Navionics app software….
Never had a problem syncing, that part goes successfully. But the routes never showed up on my axiom. I had no idea they were being saved to the card. I agree, that is a programming failure on the part of RayMarine. (And they want us to use self driving cars? Lol) I am going to head down to the boat today to see if all of my sync’ed days is actually on the card! Thanks!
Great info, I just bought an Axiom + after the touch screen on my Raymarine A125 failed... Question, do I need a router on board and can I just connect my iPad right to the chartplotter via wifi? Or Bluetooth?
You don’t need a router on board to transfer routes/plotting between the iPad and Chartplotter. The only time you’d need internet access is if you’re trying to update charts through Navionics on the chartplotter.
No. In fact if you run up a hotspot on the device you use to connect to your plotter, all devices that connect to the hotspot will get exactly the same access. Hotspot equals router.
Thanks. Could you describe the process to transfer waypoints from an micro SD card to a Raymarine e7 series? It’s about 11 years old and I don’t believe it has WiFi capability. I think I have to download a program like GPS Babel on my Mac Desktop if I want to manipulate waypoints then transfer them to an SD card then from that to the e7 GPS.
Wish I could help but unfortunately I’m unfamiliar with that model and don’t own one to take a look at it. I assume you’ve searched around the web. Often times I notice it helps to add the word “forum” to the end of a google search when troubleshooting, they tend to contain a lot more info. Cruisers forum specifically is a good resource as well.
Thanks Ben - Question - I have the CArd from Navionics in my raymarine. Do I also need to pay for the Navionics subscription? When I open up the app on my Ipad it asks me if I want a 2-week trial. Just trying to be sure I get the right app and have the right subscription. Thanks
I believe the subscription is just for map updates, so you should be able to get around it. Unfortunately I’m off this boat now and don’t have access to the same unit to look for you :/
The plotter sync requires an active subscription on both the plotter card and the mobile app. They are separate subscriptions. Each plotter card has its own subscription (if you have multiple cards), but the mobile app subscription is shared across your compatible IOS and Android devices.
I found this video as I was looking on u-tube for how to find the chart plotters password. Thanks this will help once I can find the password for the Axiom plus I have. Do you know where to find it?
Thanks mate! Very helpful.
Super clunky programming from Raymarine but at least I know how to work around it now👍

Thanks. This is exactly what I needed to know. Sad it is so difficult to find such essential information regarding AXIOM mfd functionality

I’ve been trying to do this for over a year now. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for making this. I keep getting a "Plotter card not found" error but when I imported all routes, they showed up. Very helpful!
I love iiiuuuuuu. 1 month trying and then I found your video. Everything ok. Thhankkkkk

Thank you+++ for this! I spent ages wondering why my routes weren’t appearing on my chart plotter as it isn’t intuitive!
Wish I would have found this video 2 days ago lol. Great video and very helpful 😁
THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!!

Yes, thank you! Would have never figured this out on my own!!
Thank you so much!

SO GOOD!
Thanks for this useful tutorial. 🙂👍
Thank you for very useful video!
Helpful - thanks!
Perfect. Big thanks!

Luckily Raymarine isn’t producing self driving cars and if they did they’d be out of business lol
Very good thanks
Lifesaver!
Tks a lot!!!
Cool!!!!
Si kepo nie benar2.
Thank you
If you have not moved file on sd card before ,the files need to be moved to the sad card in an opened condition zip files will get you no were.
Hi there! I would be interested in knowing how to do the same but the other way around: from Raymarine Axiom to my iPad Navionics. Any hint?
Can you sinc a navionics to lighthouse or only to navionics on axiom?
👍🏻

I don’t!
Wow what a pain.
If you think about it Raymarine got it right.
