Simple and Easy Fish Cake Recipe

- This simple and easy fish cake recipe is an absolute delight, made with potato and fish that can be made quickly and easily. Mashed potato adds a great bit of body, and this easy recipe is something everybody will love! Got to love homemade Fish Cakes!
Ingredients-
➤ 350g Maris Piper potatoes
➤ 500g skinned cod or haddock fillet
➤ 300ml milk
➤ 2 bay leaves
➤ 1 tbsp parsley & chives
➤ 85g fresh white breadcrumbs
➤ handful of plain flour
➤ 1 egg
For the tartar sauce
➤ 2 gherkins
➤ Half a shallot
➤ 1 tbsp parsley
➤ 125ml mayonnaise
➤ 1 tsp creamed horseradish
➤ 1 tsp mustard
➤ 1 tbsp olive oil

This is a beautifully presented, cheffy version of the traditional British (maybe more Scottish with the maris pipers) fiskcake! I've seen too many recipes for this dish that add unnescesary ingredients to the mix, when all you need is delicate, fresh cod, poached in milk, mashed potatoes, and fresh herbs.

These look so delicious Dom! I love Cod...and I bet these are just so tasty! Have you ever heard of Baccala? A portuguese dried salt cod? They make a similar fish cake out of that. But I think I would prefer using fresh cod like you did! And nothing beats a home made tartar sauce.
