I am 30 now and discovered tracker music at around 18 years old or so, but also didn't realize that I was listening to tracker music all-the-way back at 5 years old with games like Jazz Jackrabbit 2! Definitely inspired me with my own music!
Bless you man. This track pretty much introduced me to PC tracking. I trasferred all my Amiga mods to PC around that time and soon afterwards I switched to PC Octamed using the same mod files I had on the Amiga. Golden times to be sure.
the idea that a tune this beautiful was done in '95 on a regular consumer PC is absolutely mindblowing to me... vsts and shit is cool and all but a bunch of 8bit samples is enough to summon a whole range of emotions if u're talented!
Ohhh god this brings back memories. So many hours in Impuse and Scream Tracker. This track is insane... i still listen to it now in 2022. Such an epic workout song!
I too have heard it first in UT99, I had a map compilation from some old German game magazine borrowed from a friend. I liked the song so much I converted it to MP3 and listened to it all the time on my phone. After both of my old HDD and the phone died, I lost all hope I'll ever find it again. Now, thanks to an amazing video by Ahoy - "Trackers: The Sound of 16-Bit" I finally found it again and it nearly brought me to tears.
This isnt nostalgia... This is meeting something actually good that even if you havent lived it you want to go back in time. One thing i can say is that the things were simpler and happier and more peaceful back in the day, im from early 2000s but since brazil is quite behind than rest of the world was really like living the 90s culture and tech wise. I miss the peaceful simplicity.
Hello. It's 2021 and my girlfriend is drunk and I just put this song on cause I know she'll fall asleep to it while it sit here also drunk and enjoy everything about this this song
Hey, i wonder if this track is license free. We have a niche thingy going on which isnt really about making big profits, but might be commercial. That track would be of good use there.
I don't know. Playing with dead by Nighthawk is also a very good song, but the vibe is different. Maybe it is this kinda morphing sound in the background, I first recognized in Second Reality by Future Crew.
I always loved this track, so I finally decided to try and recreate it! It's not going to beat the original, but it's a solid tribute anyway. :) ruclips.net/video/MTJKHvfhbqI/видео.html
This is the song that "initiated" me into electronic music composition and production.
fue usada en un juego llamado in pursuit of greed
Something about this song, dude. Hearing it for the first time 20 years ago, it inspired me in the same way. ✌

Without a doubt there were many talented people in this scene. Sucks to see not a lot of them got the credit they deserved.
@Dr. Quarex Demoscene in Amiga was for me my best chillhood
i remember only playing Octamed day and night
It was not a consumer PC, It was an inspiration for many. Anyhow if fully agree about emotions. BTW: Necros is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Sega
@Dr.Quarex indeed i also felt this way
oops it is already stated in the "more information pane" when i click on it. Allright then😁

First heard it in UT, and have enjoyed it for nearly 20 years now. :)
How could you hear this in UT?

@@TommyAgramonSeth Amen to that! I thought I knew everything about Sound Trackers, Demo Scene and UT until Ahoy's video. Fuck, that was just intense.
@@davidzachary7152 I heard it in a bt (bunny track) map like 15 yrs ago :D beautiful piece
This song touches my soul.
Seeing this song run in a tracker again takes me back... when the power of computers was really ramping up and everyone could feel the change coming.
This. 👆
One of the greatest electronic tracks of all time, tracker or not!
It truly is.
Oh, I love this track. It has such a tender upbeat vibe. So wistful yet ready to face the day.
You got it, that was i wanted to say. Upbeat and tenderness sounds🥰
This song was also in the community map CTF-Catherine for UT99 which is where I originally heard it.
Sound of this type of music brings so much childhood nostalgia!
Downloaded this one back in the 90s and it's still in my collection / on my playlist. Thanks for sharing.
this is a legit tracker tune
I can hear some of the same samples that ended up being used in Unreal at the start. Awesome.
Oh my word this is amazing !!
You don't need an amiga to do tracker music. This alone proves that.
Ironically I've just wrote on another video (8-bit guy) that the reason I switched from the Amiga to PC in 1995 was because of Impulse Tracker.
But you should say nothing will be the same if amiga dont was in there
Amiga brings up a new level soo far away for that time
Trackers were first on the Amiga. Years ahead of the PC.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I have missed this track for so many years! Thank you! Thank you!!!
This track has been with me and has inspired me for almost 30 years. I'm honoured to have been alive and experienced this in many ways.
I first met with the song in the "in pursuit of greed"
Same here, same.
God this is such a banger... The energy in this track is unreal (no pun intended).
Every few years I rediscover this one. Still good 👍
This song is great. Has such a chill feel to t, and wouldn't be surprised if this partially inspired music made in Timesplitters
I remember this music from a demo by Eurasia on the N64
That goes into my personal top 10
Oh, why does no one produce such music anymore? :( I really love the part 2:13 - 2:29 , just a little moment but it sounds awesome
Godamn classic right here! I use to have a massive collection of MOD/S3M tracks back in the day.
Try to find them again in modarchive if you want to.

Andy just linked this song for a FB post today. Good times :) :)

Oh yeah, sweetness in a digital track. OMG!!!
Coming back and i still love it🥰😍🤩
One of my favorite mods of all time. DAMN. I loved this shit when I was a kid/teenager. ^o^
😇🥰
All those manual volume commands with this S3M.. IT really had better control with the NNA features.
this isn't an xm though

do you still create music? All your stuff are from decade+ ago.
About 30 years late. But, certainly better late than never. Amazing track!

"Prepare to fight! Three! Two! One! Fight!"
*teleporter noises flood the map*
Starts somewhat like Aphex Twin.
what is tracker but vertical scrolling sequencer
Aphex Twin - Rhubarb? )))
Glad I'm not the only one who heard it :D
i thought so
Wish to see someone make a MIDI version of this song.
My first love, there was no other 😁

my secret cult classic
This is how a real trance track should be made!
What genre of music is this considered ?
saywat5551 there is no need to label it, just enjoy it. Do not try to understand because never will
Breakbeat/Acid Techno/ etc..
Search for "neowave roots of trance" for more music like this
This is known as Tracker music here in the west, though the real lads say DOSKpop.
@CallOfDrewthulhu LONG LIVE DOSKPOP!
Was this track in Ultimate Steroids?
yes!!!
This sing is from game called Greed - I think, but if I'm wrong let me know in comments
That's correct. Andrew Sega (Necros) composed 'In Pursuit of Greed' but sadly this track can only be heard in the demo version of the game.
How many doom wads have this tune????
insanity
I need a MP3 of this
