B A Yeah Mary is very versatile in her singing. You need to find more of her own songs and performances between 1985-1999. She had one of the biggest voices in The Supremes. Gladys’ voice is only unique because her singing style has been the same for decades.
In the beginning, all of the Supremes took turns singing lead. They all had talent. But, ironically, even in this industry, talent doesn't hold sway over politics or ambition. Even though they were all friends when they were very young and before they became famous it is obvious that Diana had planned a future for herself that the others had no clue about. It’s no longer well suited for a lot of her catalog, but 2020 performances of Billie Holiday songs and others that require emotional depth are quite good. After 60 years and an impressive body of work behind her, I suspect she will long be remembered. To your point about Mary, her voice seemed to only get better with time. The timing of her passing was really unfortunate as she seemed to be on the verge of releasing new music.

Berry always told her she couldn’t sing in her bio. He must have been tone deaf !
Yes, Mary can sing! Awesome lady!
What a powerful voice she has!
Mary flo and Diana where always vocally gifted baby don’t go is Mary on lead vocals early supremes song very good
I think it is about time to find a better title to this video, because anyone that was a Supreme admirer from day 1 knew Mary Wilson could sing and very well. Who cares about the others, and trying to convince them? It's their loss. I have always thought it is offensive... and now more than ever. Long live Supreme Mary!
Mary is amazing...
THE TRUTH IS ALL THREE WOMEN COULD SING ALL BEAUTIFUL AND TALENTED, LIFE IS REALLY SHORT SO LET'S GIVE THEM FLOWERS NOW, RIP MARY I CAN SEE WHY YOU WHERE A SUPREMES.......................LOVE ALL THREE
REST IN PEACE🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Love it go Mary Wilson we miss you so much
She was always the most naturally pretty of The Supremes...but her solo singing is hit or miss.
Now that`s true, hit or miss as a solo singer.
Nice looking
Agree
Mary definitely had the widest range. Her voice was the richest, smoothest and so steady at any level. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and often outsang the other girls. Absolutely Beautiful tone and pitch perfect. RIP Mary Wilson. 🙏🏼💕🙏🏼
She was a very good back up singer for the miss ross.never pushed in the background. Berry new it was Diana's voice that would conquer the world.
Exactly...a background singer at best....and not that great of one to be truthful. I give her an A for effort though.
@@kevinpd99 Thank you Finally an honest answer that's not biased to Dianna. I like Mary Wilson" but she's not a lead singer her voice is average at best. Dianna has the voice without Diannas voice the supremes would not have been as successful as they were.
she really can sing! And she is quite a looker too. Maybe not as distinctive as diana but serious talent. She should have gone for jazz and ballads.
Diana's voice was more distinct, really fit the smooth pop soul of the Supremes, but there is no denying this talent. Ashamed to say I didnt really know just how good
@@needahandle Don't feel ashamed, I had never really heard her voice before outside of oohs and aahs. That's a strong pair of contralto pipes she has. R.I.P. Mary!
there is nothing distinctive about diana ross thats y she was lead! standard lite singing voice!
RIP my beautiful sister
I love me some Diana, but I wish that Berry Gordy would have let Mary and Flo be on heavy rotation also. Legend Legend Legend.
Mary Wilson. If you ever get close enough you'll see that Mary is truly more than a beauty. She's like one of the most Beauitful women in the world.
