Johnathan, Mark C. here about the engine you have. Cracked phone screen last Thursday with no way to text or call anyone so I’ve been in limbo since. This post is from my wife’s phone as I remembered I could find you here. Insurance is supposed to have my new phone in this week so I will contact you to make arrangements as discussed for the motor, thanks…
Understood. You can also contact me via email at sales@motopartssource.com
Any issues with buffeting? Taking my stock mirrors off reduced it significantly for me but I also dont want bar ends
Bar end mirrors aren’t my thing either
Nice video 👍
On a different note, I have one question. I have a sv650N and have had it for 3 years now. I’m considering getting a sv1000s as an upgrade in the future. Do you think it’s a worthy upgrade? Are there any other options that I should consider first?
There's a couple things about the sv1000 to know, first the clutch basket wasn't designed right and develops a low rpm chudder (if you leave the chudder it can damage the clutch springs), tho you can get it modified. 2nd the rotor magnets like to come loose and give charging issues. That can be fixed if the magnets are still whole. I haven't been able to find any spares for mine other than in spare engines
Those things said, if your ok with mechanics and have a spare engine to work with, these are truly amazing bikes. 1000cc on 2 cylinders is so powerful I don't see myself ever getting bored with mine. I can be going 60 mph in 6th gear at about 4000 rpm's, just Crack open the throttle (no dropping gears) and still have to hold on good. The weird thing is going thru town stop to stop, I never seem to shift out of 1st
Everything that Ripntear mentioned is correct. My recommendation is to try out different bikes. If you feel like you’ve maxed out your riding abilities on the 650 and want to get into a faster bike, you should go to your local dealership and sit / test ride a few different bikes to see what you would be comfortable in upgrading to.
Does anyone know if I can get crackles/popping from my sv650 2009? I think it shuts off fuel completely while decelerating unlike the k3 to k5? maybe? Maybe tps adjustment? I don’t want to flash my ecu and don’t want to buy a power Commander bc it’s too expensive. I already got a decat mivv exhaust
Can be the Pair system , in my sv1000s I hear always big pops 😂😂😂 , that should be the issue
Hi, tell me, please, are the external dimensions of Sv 650 and SV1000 visually very different? except for the width of the rear wheel.
All of the body panels from the SV650 fit the SV1000. The SV1000 frame is slightly wider than the 650 due to engine size differences. I believe the lower fairings are the only body panel that are different due to frame width differences.
Thank you very much for the video and the answer.
No problem at all. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already!
hello. I need to help. I saw that my coolant overflow tank was a little low so I added some prestone coolant already mixed to my overflow tank now my bike is climbing up temperatures in seconds. I don't know what coolant I had previously but prestone says that their coolant can be mixed with anything and any colour
Is your bike overheating or is it just getting up to operating temperature a little faster than usual? If you have a Gen 2 SV650 the fan on your bike should come on at about 210F. If your bike is not cooling down when that fan turns on or is going far beyond that then you need to look into your cooling system.
@@PASSIONBUILT it's just building up faster then usual. Before I topped up the overflow tank, the bike took like few minutes to climb up the numbers. But now the number is going up every 3 seconds. I also topped up the coolant. BTW I'm on degrees Celsius. And thanks for replying fast!
As long as your bike isn’t overheating. I wouldn’t worry about it. Just keep an eye on your coolant level to make sure the bike isn’t eating coolant or leaking. I’m not sure where you’re located. I’m located in Florida and it’s the hot season. Temps climb up a little faster than usual this time of the year so it could be that as well on your end. But like I said. If the bike isn’t overheating. You should be fine.
@@PASSIONBUILT I'm just scared that when I put in the little bit of coolant it's somehow didn't mix well with the prestone one but the prestone one says it's compatible with any coolant/antifreeze and any colour. I just poured in maybe 0.1 litres just to fill up my overflow tank.
Question my 2009 sv650 will start and turn over but immediately dies. I can't figure out the problem request you help me
Could be a number of things. Is your FI light illuminated too?
Hey man, what kind of front turning signal do you have on your bike?
Honestly they’re just a set of eBay smoked turn signals for the SV. I’ve had them for a few years and they work great.
@@PASSIONBUILT aaah okay, sounds good! Thank you for sharing it with me. Do you maybe have a link from ebay with one it is? Cuz there are a lot of them. And idk with one is the good one. Thank you!
do these work on a first gen sv650s
Not directly.
Hey man quick question that would help tons can I put my 09 entire front end on my 07 1000 ?
09 650 front end onto a 07 1000 *
No. Forks, triples, and wheel are specific to the SV1000. They are not the same. If you want to transfer headlight, stay, upper fairing, and front fender. Yes, you can transfer those components but not suspension.
@@PASSIONBUILT alright ,hey I appreciate it. Couldn’t find anything and knew where to go to ask thanks for your knowledge!
No problem at all. Good luck!
Do you have a S to N conversion kit 05?
Unfortunately, nothing at the moment. Those sets tend to sell as quickly as I post them.
To England by any chance😂

Hopefully soon. Sorry for the wait! But thanks for sticking around.

What did you want to know?
