Absolutely genius idea. I'm mad I never thought of that. I no longer have these mirrors because someone swerved into my lane last second as I was lane splitting and totaled my bike (so I no longer have a bike). Pinning your comment for future doubletakers(?) to see.

@@MemberOfRaspizdayFamily you are missing the point, the mirror move by vibration and or wind resistance no matter how tight the ram is and a constant battle to keep them in position.
I have a set I moved to three bikes over the last eight years. The movability benefit offsets the cost. They have held up pretty well and do have resilience to the effects of crashing. I have an unfounded foiba of the stock mirror stem stabbing me in the chest in a crash. Cool video. Liked the multi position demonstration segment. Good to see a video from you.
Very true that you can just move these from bike to bike. They don't seem to break which honestly I should have mentioned. That stock mirror stabbing in the chest phobia is a thought I've had as well hahaha
Pricey yes, but not having to constantly stop and re-tighten the stupid stock mirrors all the time makes them worth it to me. Good review, thanks for posting.
I haven't seen a video from you in a while, and I forgot how many subs you had. I assumed at least a few hundred thousand. Great production quality, I love the video style. I have been having the same problem with the mirrors on my suzuki vstrom, and this gives me a good idea of what I want to get now. I also ran into that problem with the balls deforming with my old ram mount cellphone holder, I just removed it since my phone always seemed to overheat anyways.
That's quite the compliment. I'm sure if I could focus my attention and effort into the channel consistently I could get it somewhere lol. It's just sort of been a hobby to occasionally make a video. Yeah I think all of the RAM mount related products are going to have a similar problem over time. I will say that the actual RAM mount brand stuff is seemingly made of a slightly different material than the doubletake mirror balls are. Anyway, I haven't found a better solution and don't have the money to buy something different anyway, so these will have to do for now. Thanks for watching!
😂 I'm trying to decide if these mirrors are worth the hype and your video definitely helped. Enjoyed the humor, specially the scene behind the bush...lol😂
First ver visit, and I'm a veteran. The "Stolen Valor Hat Guy!" is priceless. Or perhaps more accurately, your sense of humor is priceless. "But not in a George Bush kinda way." Too funny! Ya got a new sub!
A little thread locker can help to stop any mirror from rotating. But then they will likely break in some way when the get hit during a tip over as they will not spin on the threads a bit. On a Honda Transalp the mirror mounts will break yet have no marking or damage to the mirror, and new lever perches will need to be replaced. Ask me how I know. LOL
I have a '12 F800GS and I just broke a mirror. It broke at that "sacrificial" collet piece that mounts in the handlebar. It's a BMW part so it's not cheap, but it's still less than the Double Takes. I really thought hard about buying the Double Takes, but in the end decided to just fix the OEMs. I mean, I don't dislike my mirrors. They aren't round so they have some of that benefit of elongated mirrors that you were talking about. I also didn't know that the Double Takes get loose after a while. That's disappointing. I don't know, my OEM mirrors have never moved (except when I crashed and it hit the ground). Not sure I'll be in a hurry to get the Double Takes.
I have the enduro mirros... I've put them on a couple bikes and when riding off-road, half the time I have to remove them because I can't keep them from falling down. So frustrating. That said, much better than the stockers and they'd probably be better if I went with the super-short Ram arm. The mirrors that go inside the HDB handguards are still my fave. Good work, man!
only potential issue i foresee with them is when the MCCs make blindspot alert standard on bikes....these folks should or ought to be thinking way ahead of basic structure and about function
Had these. Hated them and literally gave them away. They vibrate so much that they were unusable. Also they are ugly. Bought different mirrors that are crystal clear. YMMV
For the full kit (with the arm and the ball mount)? If so that's a steal. At that point it's worth determining if your ok with buying from someone who's likely stealing intellectual property at that point. Zero judgement to anyone who buys that.
Heat shink the ball and then they wont slip.

The hinge was invented for this, so that under certain situations it could develop. By fixing it, the meaning of this whole structure is lost.

instructions too clear, heat shrunk my balls
Very honest, practical and entertaining review my man. Keep up the good work!

The funny thing is that my AliExpress unit (bottom half) screws on super well and never drops.

This is the content I like to see. (Ironically suggested by youtube after watching the Double Take installation video lol)

I would just keep using OEM if they don't come loose on you and never look back (pun?). The doubletakes only really move if you're using a bike cover.

Thanks! Yeah generally better than stock if you're off road at all. Sometimes I do miss the stock ones not folding back at speed though haha.
Thanks for the honest review.
Thank you for your honest review and a little fun.
Dude great vid. Real life review and entertaining in the bargain. Thanks!
I love mine on my XR it’s easy to adjust while riding and I can fold them out of the way when I want 100x better than the stock hoopdies
Digressing- What size, Klim Baja S4 jacket you are wearing? Medium?
This is a small. I'm a skinny dude at 5'11", 150ish lbs here.

I use it on the ball mounts.

Good review, and funny. Thanks.
They aren't cheap but made in USA matters to me.
The most fun video on damn mirrors 😂
Hi there funn guy im interested in what model is your helmet there.Tnx
Schuberth E1. It's been a great helmet for the most part. More than anything it fits my head better than other brands.

GREAT video - you shouldn't have time on your hands - you should be employed by anyone who wants people to see their products in the REAL World!
Great video and i think i'll stick with my stock mirrors.. if they rotate, perhaps a drop of loctite might help...
I loctited my stock ones a lot and still had the same issue unfortunately. Best of luck and hope they stay put on yours!
If they're like most stock mirrors, you'll eventually buy DoubleTake mirrors.
👍🏼 for the random cussing 😂
We need more fun and honesty in this industry 🤠
If you live in San Francisco then congratulations you are getting what you deserve for what you voted for.
you are one crazy ......funny dude 😂😂👍👍
Aliexpress is making a knockoff of this Mirrors for 20 dollar.

Hyper-capitalist wet dream is so accurate, but isn't it awesome when you find a normal person solution to your mod problems?
