    I thought about Amazon today ... and I would not be surprised if new borns today, when they grow up and learn about the Amazon forests, .. they may say, "... Wow, they named a forest after the Amazon store". 🙂

    I used the same BLUM hinges in my latest build for the overhead cupboards. Love them but wish they were soft open as well as being soft close.

    There is another brand of mini splits that have more BTU's, its from Undermount AC.

      What’s the brand?

    • @kathylong9087
      @kathylong9087 8 месяцев назад

      @JarrodTocci Just Google Undermount AC and it has 12, 24 and 48v mini splits. I didn't notice a brand, maybe Undermount is the brand. I'm going to put a 24v in my sprinter because it has more BTU's and I will be in Florida with two dogs.

    Nice van. Just curious. Why do so many folks opt to use so much wooden cabinetry in their van builds? Is it a practical or aesthetic choice?
    Doesn't all of that wood add a ton of weight and cause excessive wear on the axles and suspension? Not to mention higher fuel consumption?
    Why don't more designs using lighter materials? I imagine sheet metal, plastic and composite materials would be harder to work with but probably be more practical in terms of weight and maintenance/longevity. Not to mention I sometimes think the darker wood tones make the space look crowded and small.
    I appreciate any personal takes and/or professional input.

    • @JarrodTocci
      @JarrodTocci  8 месяцев назад +1

      Materials are mainly an aesthetic choice. A lot of vans are built using different metals like steel or aluminum. Little easier to work with wood and a lot more choices with color and tones. I’ve done tours of vans that use c-tech which are durable and amazing but can also be cold feeling. Just all depends on what people are looking for

    • @moteroargentino7944
      @moteroargentino7944 8 месяцев назад

      Honestly unless you're using dense, solid woods everywhere, I think the weight savings are negligible. It comes down to personal preferences and/or building processes. In this case, for example, I believe that since all their vans are basically custom made, having an easy to work material is highly valuable. Metal and plastic is better suited for standardized production.

    300k for these builds? That's like 100k more than the super luxury RV style vans from like Leisure Travel and those are way bigger and have more high end features.

    • @JarrodTocci
      @JarrodTocci  8 месяцев назад

      If you look at the systems used compared then you’d understand more. RV’s are designed to be plugged in at RV sites and most high end van builders they are designed to be off grid or Boondock. The a/c is better, heater better, power system much better, finishes are better. Please go look inside both RV and a high end van and you’ll understand more

    What happened to adorable Chili Dog? ❤

  • @LaurelHill2024
    @LaurelHill2024 7 месяцев назад

    I personally don't want to carry the weight of wood in my van. I went light weight because of fuel cost. I'll go to a park if I want to be close to the woods.

    • @JarrodTocci
      @JarrodTocci  7 месяцев назад

      Fair but the cost using hard plastic, aluminum, or other light weight materials would increase the cost nearly double. Unless using fabric but value won’t be there and this company is a professional van builder

    • @LaurelHill2024
      @LaurelHill2024 7 месяцев назад

      @JarrodTocci there is a cost up front, but every time I fuel, I know I'm not paying for the weight of all that wood. When Goose is fully loaded, including our 2 dogs, we are still 800 lbs under our max weight. We have a 40 gallon of water tank and just under 1000 watts of solar panels. Btw I enjoy your show very much. I get inspiration from your tours. Tyvm for the entertainment.

    Obviously this is gorgeous, but c'mon, 300k. These are toys for the rich, not the every day person. These are NOT what Van Life , in my opinion, is about. I'm all for people spending their money on what they want, but I'm tired of seeing these vans which the average person can't afford. Why can't these builder's make a more affordable van. Also, get off the victron tit, as your paying for the name.

    • @JarrodTocci
      @JarrodTocci  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hey, I’ve seen you comment on other videos so I appreciate you engaging and I’ll try to answer best I can. I agree with you that a 300k van is not for everyone but there are tons that are very interested in these vans. I go to a lot of events and gatherings around van life and the people I hang out at these events don’t judge anyone if they travel in a 10k build or a 300k build. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but I feel van life is about not looking up or down on anyone and just enjoying life. I try and show as many diy vans as possible but it can be difficult because of my lifestyle at the moment, however that will be changing soon. I was with you regarding Victron UNTIL I had issues recently using other brands and I then switched to Victron and I could not be happier. If you look back on my personal builds I didn’t really use much Victron but moving forward I’ll definitely be using them more. They have made a massive difference in my tiny home

      If you can only pump out a few dozen vans a year at most, it makes sense to aim for the high end market if there's demand. More value per unit sold. It's just business.
