This was the first coaster I ever rode, back when it was all wood and all white. Looks amazing now and makes me want to go for a visit. Some of us in the area still remember the original park that stood on the spot before Six Flags took over. Loved seeing the review.
I rode it for the second time last night. It is awesome. That lift hill and the drop are very steep. Love it. Pretty cool to go upside down as well. You barely notice.
This was the first roller coaster I ever been on, and it's also super intense. I didn't really think ab how high a roller coaster could get until I looked around and saw the view
@@refusetrucksofCT It actually locks your legs in tight. Shoulder harnesses just kind of touch your legs, and your shoulders actually rarely touch the top of them. Plus lap bars use a different locking mechanism which is less likely to malfunction.
This is my favorite roller coaster that I’ve been on so far I had my hands up the whole time, the feeling is amazing when you got your hands up and the wind is just blowing in to your face while you’re going into the inversions absolutely amazing coaster would recommend 15/10

@@4haraa ONLY an hour?? And you say "it's worth it" as if it's far. That's damn good. I wish I lived only an hour away from my favorite amusement park.
The Artificial Apologist I went to Carowinds before this, and this is my second favorite coaster with Fury 325 on top. Since this comment was so long ago, did you go to Carowinds yet? If not, Fury 325 will NOT disappoint. It’s absolutely phenomenal. So is Wicked Cyclone
Just marathoned this beauty with an awesome single rider from New Hampshire, with the sly moves 😎 I feel terrible not remembering her name or getting her number when weather stopped the ride. If you see this on the crazy off chance, please respond, would love to marathon again with you anytime! 👍🤘🤌
To everyone watching that is confused: This is a steel coaster because they define it based on the material the train runs on. There’s a mostly wooden structure that has been fortified with some steel. Some consider this a hybrid but that’s just a marketing term since the wood doesn’t play a huge part in the coaster as a whole.
I just rode this this past weekend … that sucker doesn’t mess around ! One of the most intense RC I’ve ever ridden outside of Superman and RnR RC In Hollywood studios. OH MY GOD!
I really liked the look of the ride in this video, and now want to revisit Six Flags New England to ride this Wicked Cyclone. I rode it's wooden predecessor, The Cyclone, in around 2000. That old wooden Cyclone had a widely known rep of being a violent, rough, kick-your-butt ride! I almost had to grab a hold of my friend's shirt, to stop him from being thrown out of our train's car! At the end, my friend & I were all set, with having done just one ride. One ride was enough, for both of us! I understood why, when years later I heard that nasty wooden Cyclone was being demolished. At first I was skeptical, about what type of coaster the wooden Cyclone would ultimately be replaced by. But, I really like what I'm seeing of the new Wicked Cyclone in this video! Like the classic Bostonian/New England term, Wicked, I can see that this coaster has a wild, spirited layout, with plenty of attitude! I also like that it has the old lattice structure steel design, like the 1920's nail-biting Harry Traver "Safety Coasters" had. I'm really glad that Six Flags didn't abandon the concept of offering a nostalgia wild traditional coaster ride, by updating their offering to The Wicked Cyclone. Improving the ride experience appears to be the point. As a life-long New Englander and Bostonian, I chuckle at the amusement park's appropriately applying New England's very regional term, Wicked, to the new Cyclone coaster's name!
Absolutely love it, my only time riding it was in 2019 on a trip and oh man never I have done a roller coaster that make me saw black. I saw black in the last inversion oh hell!!
This was the first roller coaster I ever went on at Six Flags, I chose the back seat and I remember we got stuck at the top for a good 10 minutes. I definitely underestimated that drop!!! but loved this ride overall.
This was the first rollercoaster I've ever been on and I'm thrilled to have gone on it but DAMN it was intense. After the ride stopped I was laughing and tearing up at the same time. 🤣
Bro, i remember my first time going on this when i was 10. I was holding on for dear life. The first drop my heart rate skyrocketed and the upside down twists are what really did it. It’s like your about to fall but your not. It’s hard to explain.
The majority of the new ones are this way. There has never been a need for OTSRs (over the shoulder restraints) with inversions. All of the support is on your legs anyway. Ironically, you never even came out of your seat with the old school coasters that had OTSRs. So it was really absurd to have OTSRs. On RMCs, you actually do hang against your restraints.
OTSR (Over The Shoulder Restraints) are only needed if the coaster is particularly whippy, like with Maverick and Intimidator 305(which doesn't have inversions.) Other coasters that don't have as intense lateral force, such as Fury 325, can easily survive without OTSR. Other coasters like Kingda Ka don't need them but have them anyways due to strict safety regulations.
A few years ago I had gone to six flags with a couple of friends, and it happened to be on the day Wicked Cyclone opened to the public, and I was really looking forward to riding it…Until I got motionsick on another coaster before hand and decided it would probably be best not to.
