Thanks for sharing your storage solutions and the reasons why you store certain items. That totally makes sense to store the way you use the item.
Amazing storage solutions! I'm an artist who is struggling with organization, so I thank you for your tips! Everyone has to do what works for them, whether it breaks the rules of how it should be done or not. Off to watch some of your other storage videos, and thanks again! ❤️
Glad it was helpful! And yes, in the end, you have to do what works for you!
Love scrappy wife, such a inspiration. And yes your craft room your space!!!
💕💕💕💕
Good review on marker storage. I agree that you have to make sure it works for you. I always consider the cost of the investment and then figure out how to make it work. Thanks.
Yes, both are great things to consider!
This is the best advice EVER! Do what works for you!!
Always a good choice!
Your storage is amazing. Thank you for your storage tips! 🥰
Glad you like it!
Good for you for storing your markers and pens the way it works for you! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Great explanations! Love the pouches for on the go, too
Thanks so much!
This is so helpful Elisa. Thank you for the tips. As I've begun the storage investment for the markers and highlighters, I was struggling a bit on deciding what to transition into the drawers. Right now, I have pens, markers, and highlighters together sorted by color in clear containers that are the length of a shoebox but not as tall. It works but it's not as convenient as I'd like.
I like the idea of them sorted by colors though! That must be very visually appealing!
Very helpful, love your storage solutions!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank u Elisa. U handled that extremely well. Thank u 4 explaining why markers need 2 b stored horizontally. I didn't know that markers/pens needed 2 b stored horizontally. Have a great day.
Glad it was helpful!
💖Great video!! It was so hard for me to switch my pens to horizontal when I redid my office but I’ve finally adjusted! Lol! I love the taller set of drawers you’re using from container store, total space saver- I may switch! 😉💞
Haha, I think I am always used to how my desk was set up when I was younger, with everything in typical pen holders! And yes, these drawers from the container store are soooo good!
Yes, theory needs to give way to preference-and how you’ll use them most!! BTW, your hair looks so nice in this video!!
Aw, thanks so much!
I have a similar carousel and most of my markers and paint pen stored vertically but have been looking for a horizontal solution that works in my space. I do know the A&O pens have been difficult to get going and had to replace tips because of how they are stored. I will check out the storage items you listed. Thanks for this video it is a good reminder and helpful. Blessings Elisa
I feel like horizontal storage that fits well in your space is a bit harder to come by for sure!
I love your craft room. Totally beautiful and inspiring. You do you. I sure wish I had the container store around closer to my house. Do you know of any other stores with those types of drawers? Have a super fantastic weekend. Sending big hugs Sherry
Sometimes you can find clear storage drawers at HomeGoods or Tuesday morning!
I love that you addressed this topic, it is such a huge topic amongst us pen and stationary lovers! I was curious if you could share the link of where you got the rose gold wall planner holder over by your colored pencils. Do you have a video of you room and where you purchased certain items?
Hey! I have a full craft room tour that was just recently released, so you can check it out. Here is the link for the rose gold piece - amzn.to/34icBcY
I was just thinking, your craft space is seriously the same kind of style that is the most similar to mine. That's why i always look to you when it comes to organizing. My shed looks very similar to your room other than it's more rustic looking too
Nice! Great minds think alike :)
I have that carousel, too. I just discovered the “Dreambox 2”! Oh, how I would love that system! Like you, I need to see my tools, but that doesn't take up room.
The Dream Boxes are very cool, but super large.
Great tips
Thanks! Hope it was helpful!
Thank you; this helped a lot. I like to see my pens and pencils, but I cannot see them because I store them in ziplock bags, and then the bags go in shoeboxes. I HATE that!!!!!! I do store my colored pencils in old mason jars, but I like the idea of using planters for storage too! I can find lots of planters at Goodwill! I do use pen/pencil cases when I'm on the go...🤗 Thank you! (subscribed!)
Yes, Goodwill is fantastic for finding cute planters and mugs!
Saw the word controversy and clicked. i can not imagine what is constrovial about markers. I'm intrigued 🤔 😆
Oh, lol i should have known its the direction one stores their markers
Yup, people can get passionate about the details 😂
I get in touch with each company and ask how to store them. The one time I didn’t some dried out
Good tip!
Do the posca paint pens bleed through happy planner paper? I have archer and olive but they are pricey for what I use them for
There might be a little shadowing, but they should not bleed through.
Do you have a video explaining the different pens and markers you use and the purpose for each?
Here is an older video - ruclips.net/video/nFBgNPbfbok/видео.html
Ok thank you! That will be helpful!!
Hi I had a couple questions.1 do you actually use all those pens and markers? Also where did u get the white container with legs?
Yup, I do use them all. Not every day of course 😂 And the white one is a small plant holder from Hobby Lobby.
Should infusible ink cricut pens be stores horizontal too?
Good question! I store mine tip down because that is how I've always seen them.
Definitely ALWAYS do you😉😂
always always always!!
The ONLY tools I store horizontally are dual-ended alcohol markers. You use both ends, so I want to distribute ink evenly. Acrylic paint opens don't matter. Ink won't flow without priming often, so it doesn't matter which way those are stored.
👍🏻
I sort my pens and markers in different cups. I also recycle soup cans for my gel pens
Fun!! Those cans are great for decorating as well.
@@ScrappyWife thank you for all your tips

👍🏻
Odd how pens, markers, etc are hung vertically in the stores, but we are suppose to keep them horizontal. 🤔
I store all of mine vertically BUT i make sure the writing tip is at the bottom.
SO true!
I forget where I read it (online, I know), but I came across something a long time ago that gel pens should be stored point down. So that's how I have stored mine. I've still had some dry out, but most seem to be holding up. I'm curious where you learned about storing them horizontally. Please don't take this as a criticism, or an "I told you so." I certainly don't mean it that way! As I said, I'm just curious. I never found much info on storing gel pens. Granted, I never went that deep down that rabbit hole! LOL I kind of think another key to keeping gel pens in good working order is to USE them. I mostly use just my white Gelly Roll gel pens & my black Sakura glaze pen, which may be why my colored ones dry out sometimes. But, they weren't a huge huge investment, & they actually are at least a few years old. I do keep my Tombow markers & other assorted markers horizontally in Stamp-n-Storage marker holders on my desk. I can stack up to 5 of the Tombows in each section, & have them in rainbow order going down the holders (of course!). They're really meant for Copics, but work fine for me. And I can see the cap colors, so bonus! Anyway, sorry for rambling. Thank you for this advice. I agree with one of the other commenters - you handled the topic well. Take care, & have an awesome day! 😊
I read that when in doubt, if the ink is liquid or gel, that they should be stored horizontally. I'm with you...to me it seems logical to store them tip down 🤷🏻♀️
I don't get it... You know that you're doing it wrong and you keep on doing it wrong? Why on Earth do you store your acrylic markers vertically? All acrylic & alcohol markers should be stored horizontally.
Hehe, yup, I am a rebel. And it turns out that my markers and pens are going strong :)
Nib of the pen, not nub.
👍🏻
Really? Comments about how you store your markers??? Good grief.
Haha, I know, right?!? Everybody has an opinion....
