I dyed my hair almost 3 months ago, I didn't want to bleach it so I used dye similar to yours. It was very pigmented, but it has changed since then but I still love it and yes I also love the dark to color look.
I want to color my locs also ,color looks absolutely beautiful but I'm waiting for my locs to mature.
Great video as always Dae very informative
Blessings
I was just about to come on here and look for color t tutorials and you popped up. I guess I will have to get the loc color clip-Ins. Thanks
When I saw the color you used in your thumbnail I gasped because that's the color I just dyed my whole head lol🔴🧡
Hey Dae, I understand that desire for color. I've been feeling that way since I got locd up. Colors like burgundy, purple or a dark ginger appeal to me but I will never dye my hair. Thank God, hair paint wax exists. I'll be trying that at my one year mark in November. You might want to look into that and other alternatives too.
LOVE THE VLOG. LIKE YOU SAID DYE DON’T LAST LONG AT ALL. HAVE A BLESSED DAY.
Cheryl Shelton thank you!!
I have decided to start my locs again after 6 years of being loc free. This time around I won’t dye or bleach my locs because it stopped my hair growth. I like the thickness of your locs ❤️
Maggie C thank you for this!
I dyed my locs with textures and tones by clairol for women of color: vibrant burgundy (shown in my pic). I had to rinse for 30 minutes the first day and then the next day until it was thoroughly rinsed out to clear due to it being locked. It came out beautifully and feels pretty good. I use polymedic reconstructor to keep my hair strong twice a month. Yes it is worth it to me because I have lots of grey throughout. Colors/temporary do not work well for me.
I wanted to dye just the ends of my locs. I'll be 8 months in next month. So I wanted a different look. Thanks for the video came just in time
Think long about it!
Look at you GLOWIINNGGG ✨✨✨😍
❤️❤️❤️😍
Okay but did you hear the conversations I was having??? I have been planning on dying my locs for 3 days straight!!! Thank you for this video
Brooklyn Kent ❤️😂😂
Right..I was just thinking that😂
Pros -it’s a glam look
Cons -yeuuufeegvyyyhhreecvuuikhgewwvhuy
Me- okay I’m dying it
👀 I'm here . . Was up in the diy videos... but keep em coming 👍
Love your locs! You are fabulous!
ChantelleChanti thanks so much!!
I have dyed mine using the dark & lovely in the color “crimson moon” it was soooooo not worth it just because the color didn’t show up for me. I feel the difference in the texture of my hair. Like you said it takes so much more effort to keep my hair moisturized as well. 👀But I do want to try that red color😅.
I want to dye because the gray hairs make me think my locs have lint in them!😂
I’m the opposite. I don’t want the upkeep anymore so I’m trying to dye them darker and let the gray come in. Watching videos because I have never dyed my locs before, only the roots.
I want to dye my locs too. They’re still in the infancy stage right now. It’s one month of starter locs so if anything this is the time to dye it before they start on their journey for real. If I don’t do it now I’m going to have to wait frfr until they mature.
Class Assignment I agree!
I suggest that's your best option. I started mine June 9th and dyed them July 11th, they feel just fine (I moisturize heavily) and oddly are locing quicker now (I suspect because they are inherently dryer now). But please remember that you will still always get some amount of damage. Good luck!
Steve Alexander I also noticed when I colored my hair it locked quicker it was weird but I was excited lol! Funny she posted this I just dyed my hair red like right now lol I’m sitting with palmers coconut protein pack to treat it lol! Honestly, locs are dead hair anyway the key is keeping it moisturized so they don’t break. Also saw a video that said best time to color is prior to getting locs. Being a color junkie myself I would recommend getting it done professionally initially. Good luck with the color! ❤️
My final incentive to start my locs happened because I had my loose natural hair "professionally" coloured at a salon and the colour was not what I wanted. I noticed my hair was snapping off the ends, and dry like hay lol. Now 1yr loc'd, the remnant of colour at the ends of my hair look so good, especially in the sun. However I know my hair doesn't like chemicals so I dont think I'll ever want to dye my locs tbh, but I may try the wash out wax?. I love the red on you, looks good.
Thank you! I get it because my hair is the same wayyy when it comes to chemicals!
I want to bleach my locs...I bought the bleach and everything but my hair has dyed itself a nice brown due to the sun so I'm on the fence about it.. yes dye your hair you look bomb with the red 🙂
Thank you for this.
I want to dye but the cons. I finally got them styled and I'm feeling myslef
Me too! I’m almost 1 year loc’d
Great video. I'll stick to natural black though. I hate dryness.
I will dye my starter locs when I’ll reach 5 months ( at my birthday 🤷🏾♀️)
Think long and hard! Lol
I love the color on your locs! While I’m definitely a huge fan of red red, I won’t be dyeing my locs for sure - for one I have henna on them already and for two it took me YEARS to get back to my natural color after I bleached and dyed my loose natural. Never again I say 🤣🤣 maybe one day I might experiment with the hair wax colors but I’ll probably just stick to jewelry and accessories to liven things up
Yessss I might have to get some accessories myself!
I love the accessories for pizzazz! Before you do the hair wax, look up curlynugrowth. She just compared wax to chalk in locs and my mouth flew open! Very enlightening!
One day I might be brave and color mine! My locs have to mature first.
Journey Through Sistaahood yesss let them go through the stages!
IT'S ME DAE GURL! 💚 **signs** I'm soooo conflicted. I actually want a pitch black color but I'm terrified of damage. Idk idk idk. My 1 year anniversary will be in Sept but I'm doing a ACV detox for that. I have brown tips on sum of my locs that resurfaced out of no where. I love your hair color as it is now but idk why i have a feeling you will be a red head soon 🤭 i support whatever u decide!💄👌🏾
Erin Nicole I LOVEE the pitch black hair look! The damage shouldn’t be too bad!
I’m a year into my loc journey now and I’ve only colored my hair once (@8 months). Because I used permanent dye (dark and lovely fade resist brand), I didn’t experience the color leaking onto any sheets or during any washes. It’s still just as vibrant as it was when i first put it in. So that’s something to think about as well the next time you get a color. I’m not sure how much harsher permanent dye is, but there will be damage whether you use permanent or semi- permanent so it’s better to go for the one that’ll actually last, in my opinion. As someone who thought my color would fade, the DrkNLovely Fade Resist line of color has lasted nicely. Great video as always Dae🤎
Great to know
I love color but my hair is fine and unable to handle color. I struggle with dryness without having color on my hair, I can't imagine just how dry it would be if I colored it.
I have had my starter locs for three months now and am so conflicted. Been thinking about dying it for a few days now. The struggle is real. I do not feel pretty....Once they are a year old am definitely going to.
Yvette Wanzuu do what makes you happy, but know you are beautiful regardless!
@@daelocs Thank you!
Did you ever dye it??
@@Locdbymay No girl,I stuck it out. Waiting for my one year anniversary
People always forget to « NEUTRALIZE » the color or the bleach right after rinse it .
Neutralizing shampoo have acid ph stop chemical action in your hair and remove chemical.
Without neutralizing shampoo hair stay dry , chemical molecules continue to act damage the hair. A lot of locs head bleach then color hair with box dye then rebleach then put demi permanent then re use a box dye to color … It’s a lot !
Dyed my hair red for years wn keeping natural but dyed it black before I got my locs an it bn three months and still thinking of getting my red hair back u right bout the fading maybe will hv to dye it red on my birthday wn my locs is 7 months what u advicing your sis cnt wait to get her red lol
What products do you use to lay your edges
What about black hair dye? Has anyone had any issues after dying black?
I ended up here because I’m 7 months in and want a different color but I’m scared to do it….
If you decide to color please record it! That’s all I’m gonna say lol
MzzJay 😂😂 I got you sis!
I clicked so fast.
Anitha Helvi 😂😂❤️
Anitha Helvi 😂❤️ aawwww!!
Seem like the cons outway the pros.
I told myself I was gonna wait until I made 1yr loc’d before I do anything to my locs, I’m currently 3 months and 10 days loc’d and it’s so hard to fight the urge to not dye my locs😭🥲😂
same!
Did you have to bleach before you dying it ?
What kind oil you use on your local hair and do you use a Loc wash?
What kind of oil you on your hair and do you use the Loc Wash?
Am here watching you after i just dyed my hair 😫😫😫😂😂😂
Oh my God u heard me today I was talking about it today I didn’t no if it was safe or not
Tell us about the hair paint
I’ve never used it!
Hair color wax is the worst, it’ll take at least three days to fully wash out
I have to color mine. I have a lot of gray and Do Not like gray.
I LOVEEEE gray! 😍
@@daelocs I am 66 going on 67 and I guess somewhat vain but gray just isn't my thing. I can't get used to it. It makes me look and feel old 😊
@Matlynnae Fox I have always colored my hair. 😊
Don't do it.... i dyed my stater locs a jet black color and I am paying the price now with serious breakage. I am working on restoring them. So, really think about it before taking the plunge.
😭❤️❤️ wow
So glad for your post...thank you for talking me off the ledge❤❤❤
DON'T DYE YOUR HAIR. Your previous colors were all cute but I don't want you making a video about how you had to cut off the color cause it damaged your locs so bad. But if you must then go on ahead but I hope you choose not to.
tsimmonds55 ❤️❤️❤️ defiantly not something I’m going to rush into! Thank you
I had a terrible experience with dye on my natural hair five years ago. Let’s just say... I’m afraid of beauticians and dye.
Makes no sense to dye hair if its going to damage it. Nothing but cons from what I’m seeing but hey 🤷🏾♂️, that’s people’s decision.
I don’t wash my hair so my dye isn’t going anywhere anytime soon 💀
tabansi omg lol
Lol just don't do it. Your hair is the weakest on the crown area so they'll break first. I had to regrow most of my crown area locs and cut a certain amount of unhealthy locs because they started thinning but my hair is heathy now. My journey has been a wonderful learning experience. Just be natural because you're going to pay for it in the end. It may look good but it's not worth it at all.
