I just wanna say I love your quasi-psychedelic editing style (in this one it wasn't as present I'm referring more to part 1 of this video), it reminds me a lot of a TF2 channel called Fishtank. Your editing style is very cool, it makes me dissociate anytime I watch lmao. Love the interesting info on engi, it's one of my off-classes and the knowledge you've given me makes me excited for the next time I pick them up.
The first two OCs for engineer that I got was literally Hyper Prop and cycle overload. I immediately spent all my saved up currencies to full on embrace absolutely vicious quantities of damage and accept having no ammo.
I highly recommend combining the tunrd coolant driller with hyper propellant on dread fights. If you shoot a frozen dread with hyper propellant, you can easily 2 shot any dreadnought. The damage output is a bit too high for twins, so i recommend using seeker rounds on lok1 to get them both to half hp so you can one shot
One of my favorite uses of Feedback Loop is 21112 with SMRT Trigger OS 21111, either use it in a horde and aim for their heads, the beam grows in power every second you use it, and every time you kill a bug you regain ammo, or use it quickly to set a big bug on fire, then aim the loki on a weakpoint that gets 40% increased damage since it applies electric on the first burst so you kill them in like 4 seconds
If you plan on deep-diving into other classes, make sure to check out this gunner build: 31X22 minigun with "a little more oomph" (Taking either burstthrough rounds for grunt swarms, or hardened rounds for stripping armor off of big enemies like the twins or praetorians) 13222 BRT7 with "Lead Spray" Any grenade (I personally use the lead burster) The two weapons work really well with eachother. The minigun is pretty much converted into a lead laser with it's high accuracy and 0.1 second spinup time, while the lead spray has obscenely high damage at the cost of practically no accuracy. It's the funnest gunner build i've ever used.
More stuff on Hyper Propellant: Homebrew does not function with Incendiary Compound. The damage will not be randomized. It will work with Pressure Wave though. Armor Break does not apply to direct damage, but does apply to radial damage, albeit also in a broken way. You can't pierce armor with direct hits, and Armor will only reliably break in a 0.5m radius. So you should pick: IC+Stun for Industrial Sabotage to overheat Patrol Bots and Caretaker Arms, or if you are also running Lok-1 with Electro-Chemical Rounds in Tier 3. PW+Homebrew if you really crave that total damage. The increase is pretty significant - you kill a Twin Dreadnought in 10 shots instead of 13, which is really good because HyperProp has a much lower damage total compared to other single-target engine options. But it also means that you can miss some breakpoints, e.g. you can't reliably oneshot a Menace now. PW+Stun if you just want a very slight edge against heavy armored targets like Twin Dreadnoughts, Praetorians, Shellbacks. And I do mean slight - hitting the weakpoint on Praets and Twins is pointless because while HyperProp does get weakpoint multipliers, it does not have a "weakpoint bonus". Just shoot them in their very visible and exposed mouth.
Shard diffractor oc: overcharge booster. +100% dmg. Cannot stop firing until needing recharge. If interrupted, lose current charge. Cannot move. If you have enough enemies (and distance), it doubles your ammo efficiency. Also, has great single target dmg
I use the following as a guideline on firing the booster on haz 5: Multiple(2+) praetorians/wardens in one spot. Dreadnoughts. (I run aoe too) Bulks (slowdown is awesome) Oppressors Really large groups of grunts (aoe also helps here) Hoarder Nexus/Breeder (depends on team awareness and if they're shooting it) Korlok. This way you can boost and not run out of enemies and thus waste boosted charge since you can't stop firing. But also not waste ammo by not boosting at all. Remember to keep enough distance! (Dash can help with that)
Since you’re going to visit other classes, know that the ifg for scout is a beautiful thing, it increases how much damage enemies take and will electrify anything really. Pair that with bullets of mercy or magnetic shafts tri fork volley, I’ve one shot a charge sucker on bet c before with some of those shenanigans
My sweaty try hard Engi build has always been Em Discharge on the Stubby and Hyper Propellant on the PGL. Grenades you can take your pick put I prefer drones or mines. Rock and stone!
Something I've learned as an engi main. Once you have the tier 3 repellant upgrade, the whole game opens up into "Hmm, how can I redirect the bugs using my platforms". Ive created mazes for glyphids to run through to make escort missions quite trivial.

Try Lok-1 2-1-1-1-2 with Executioner OC + Shard Diffractor from your swarmstopper build + optionally shredder swarm because it rocks + sentry build of choice, balance as you like. Jack of every single trade in the game, amazing for every type of targets in every mission type
Turrets with turret arc OC is also good if you make a bridge/spiral and have a section that is thinner so the turret arc can hit all enemies that are walking up it. This can be bad if your platforms get destroyed by exploders. Also really good with spinning death breach cutter with the plasma trail and stun upgrades.

I've managed to get both turret EM discharge and turret arc. So far I prefer EM discharge, but this is entirely because of my inability to setup good chokepoints. I typically try to fight out in the open, so being able to set down my turrets and kite bugs around them while using them as infinite grenades is pretty effective. I do a similar thing with turret whip, though it's quite turret ammo hungry.
You know what, I can really relate to this. I got the EM discharge like 3 days ago, gonna be really nice to showcase it in my next video EM discharge, in my experience is actually horrible in chokepoints because bugs often block the shots intended to activate it and is much better used in a wide chokepoint/open but easy to walk around place like a platform spiral My advice for turret arc is: timing. Either have it ready before a swarm comes or set it up right as mission control announces it The key is to have oriented yourself with a good chokepoint. If theres a swarm, go there and prepare yourself :)
really great video! just one thing that struck out was the very high volume jump of the (then) background music to the main music. I feel like the "fade in" was skipped there
I suggest you revisit the shredders if you didn't find them adequate, from my experience they are very versatile and incredibly useful in basically every situation (bar dreadnoughts and bulks). They completely liquify small targets and deal very solid AOE damage to grunts and the like occasionally snatching things from the ceiling as well.
Build for h5 Lok1, Executioner, 11312. -Damage seems slightly insane compared to ammo with this gun, but trust me the math works out, just gotta be careful with it -Easier to lock on to smaller groups or single targets -Blowthrough is kinda deceptive, its honestly a lot like blowthrough with the minigun, like, its not always useful, but when it is, its a really nice addition -Faster locks pairs well with t5 -Crank that damage Breach Cutter, Light-Weight Cases, 21123 -Max ammo -Max ammo -The correct choice -Doesn't matter, I just am a slut for stun -Technically the best is plasma line you always end up wishing you had line when you are dealing with lots of swarmers, but I find the larger aoe to deal a lot of extra damage and make my sloppy shots worth way more Use it with the little robot babies This is what I run with most of the time these days, you can take it on any mission although maybe not the best @ caretaker / Korolok.
if you try out the other classes, for the gunner incendiary hurricane (it's one of the t5 mods) plus volatile bullets bulldog (overclock) is very busted. can take down a bulk in a few well-placed shots
Greybeard here, engi is by far my best character, I just never lose with him. In my experience there is very little reason to make a fort style bunker, it is at best a waste of time/platforms and at worst a grave for you or your team. It seems like it would be a good idea for engi because you have so many area denial strategies but it really hinders the rest of the team strengths as well as just limiting your options. That being said sometimes you can block up a hole or make a wall to funnel the bugs in one place making it way simpler. But keep in mind bugs can literally spawn anywhere so if you fuck with the game it fucks you right back. If you don't agree with me now, you will later I promise. Also you can "bend" Lok-1 shots into weak points, making the lock on time irrelevant. It takes some time to learn but once you do it's practically unfair to play with.
The edit must take quite some time, amazing quality. Much better than some big RUclipsrs, they are just some talking heads with some unattractive faces.
I like the builds, but the editing makes me squint my eyes. I think it's better to take away the terminal screen frame and show the game play of the build after.

The Electric Shard build is something I've recently done myself. It's uncanny how quickly I melt through praetorians.

They're definitely a good "throw and forget" grenade, I've touched on them in my 2nd DRG video very shortly but I might revisit them :)
SSG is the only Engie nade I use now. They're surprisingly effective against Naedocytes & Swarmers...and Rival Shredders when fighting a Caretaker
They're very useful is most aspect and they have 0% chance of friendly fire as well.
