We can start our own locs. We should all specialize in our hair and its many different styles we love. Stay safe family and keep your crown beautiful
Agreed! I have always been a DIY person when it comes to my hair in general. The cost of hair salons, in general, can be so expensive, even with traditional locs. I feel like when we start and maintain our locs on our own, there is a different type of appreciation for them I feel you!
I researched and looked at different styles for well over 6 months before I started. I'm now 16 1/2 months Loc'd. The best decision i could have ever made for my hair!
Hey there! I saw an awesome RUclips channel that did a video on braidlocs with fine hair. Check it out and see what you think. ruclips.net/video/4q9Mq9HH59g/видео.html
In response to your Braidlocs CONS I'd say this from my experience: Braidlocs are similar to sisterlocs and we've all seen how full and dense sisterlocs can be. A person getting braidlocs needs to get parting sizes less than a half inch especially if they don't have a lot of hair density then go as small as possible. Any size bigger than less a half inch will prove disastrous. Also braidlocs need to be washed weekly and hydra-moisturized every other day or washed bi-weekly and hydra-moisturized every day to to create fluff and loosening of the braid pattern. To achieve fluff in your braidlocs you need a minimum of 400. I have 530 braidlocs. And shed-hair does sit in the braidloc, same as every other loc. Braidlocs need to mimic the pattern and process of sisterlocs in order to mature successfully.
I have braid locs and I'm a year and two months, and now my locs look like traditional locs by retwisting and never touching the length of my locs except for washing no palm rolling and definitely no interlocking. My braid pattern is definatley gone to the eye (I can still feel them)but I attribute that to only braiding down from root to a certain point they filled in very nicely.
@@angelagrimes7055 Hi ,mines are brick layer pattern I have between 82 -84 locs. You cant tell what your getting until years down the line with locs. If you dye your locs when they grow longer you may nottice weak spots. Locs popping off. If you go too small bc you want that 'neatness" the locs will continue to compact as they mature and you may be facing breakage down the line. My locs are 10 years old. You dont want to have hair down your back and have to think about cutting it all off bc you went to small.
Hi ,I started my braid lock journey about 2 months now, my hair have a c curl, very thick and is about half way down my back and it was economical for me to do it myself, I watched lots of videos and have retighten once since instillation also washed weekly due to my active lifestyle, I love them, my only concern is that they will get thicker as time go by but I will monitor it. Palm roll or 2 strand twist was not an option, I'm looking forward to my journey. Thank you, you were very informative.
I have 352 braidlocs, I've been locked 3 1/2yrs. Best decision I've ever made. I interlocked the whole time, until last month. I retwisted all of them. So much damn faster and better. I will continue to retwist them instead of interlocking. It's best for me I feel ❤
Thanks so much for making this video. It was very informative. I've been contemplating whether to do a twist or braids and you've answered my questions
You do not need to cut off your braided portion if it takes too long to loc. There is a YT lady that eventually upbraided her unlocked portion and interlocked from end of loc to tip of the newly unbraided loc. Key point. Dont make your braids tight. If they are lose down the length of the braid they will loc faster. I am 21 months into my small (not micro) braidloc journey. I have always interlocked. The style I was going for was a lot smaller than traditional and larger than sisterlocs. So a thicker version of sisterlocs. Most of my locs in the back are fully locked. My middle and front are about 30%. I doubt that I will unbraid and interloc. But you never know....As my locs mature I do miss my curly ends. Zero regrets.
