I wouldn't say the best adaptation but rather the coolest and more powerful . In the comics, she's colder, calculating and cunning, while here she's arrogant, abrasive and suffers from hubris.

I agree I too personally feel sorry for her. Even though it’s been a very long time since the last time I watched X-men Evolution, I can remember scenes with Mystique when she was badass even with her fight with storm. I think it’s about time I rewatch the series from beginning to end.
X-Men Evolution deserves credit for fully utilizing Mystique's powers compared to other adaptations like the FOX movies. She's able to transform into animals and even objects like statue (3:24) and even liquid 8:44
While she can't normally transform into animals in the comics, I thought it was a great change in the show. And it's crazy how many things she could do once she became one of the 4 horseman of Apocalypse. She could turn her body into multiple animals at once, make her hands swords, regenerate, turn into water, etc. Crazy cool stuff!

The 2 theories as to how she was revived after Rogue smashed her are: 1) The statue wasn't really Mystique at all, she was teleported somewhere and the statue put in her place to fool people. 2) Apocalypse collected her smashed remains and reassembled her enough to revive her and regenerated her to 100%.

She was kind of dumb trying to face off omega level mutants (Storm and Magneto) when she didn’t have a fighting chance. I think it's because in this show, she's actually wearing a dark blue bodysuit underneath it. It was a kids show and they more than likely didn't want to make her completely sexualized what with her dress revealing too much so they compromised and gave her an under suit.
She is grabbing her wrist. It looks like Rouge is grabbing her cuff but she's not. If you look at how thin the other cuff is, you can tell both on them are cut thin. So she is grabbing her wrist but barely...but Rouge only needs to lie a finger in her to have the same effect.
Mystique not having clothes in the Xmen movie was a stroke of Genius. But Casting the hunger games starlet to play mystique was wrong. Madonna should be mystique in the next Xmen movie.

They went one letter too far in the alphabet, they should have called the show Wmen ! And what about sexism even in a show where there are as many females as male mutants it is called Xmen not Xhumans. This show is like an hymn to racism and sexism (oh and not a single LGBT Xmen either) wonderful Hollywood, the more you try to make movies for middle white America the less you should feel surprise they keep on believing they are better than the rest of us.

Actually she does work for Magneto in this series. Although she's not loyal to him. She simply has a different plan for the mutant revolution.
