The minion block wall trick is honestly so genius it almost feels like you're playing a different game. If anyone has ever played Dota2 then stuff like staggering creeps with both your abilities and hero is basic knowledge and feels so cool to see it in league.
Dota 1mate, it all started with earthshaker back in 5.84 edition of Dota 1. We used to block up to three waves from coming and then they would all galop ahead together haha.
Kudos to him for just sharing it for us since based on what he said in this video, it sounded like challenger players and pro players also had no idea why he did what he did.
@@Greedman456 Yeh I'd never go for bounty runes at 1:00 and instantly run offlane and Q the creeps meaning teammates flame, but they made his wall mana costs so high It's basically never worth to go that strat unless you bring like two clairty potions.
as a anivia main, thereis one more trick, u can in fact "unfreaze" allies lanes, by using wall (with 2 points on W) on second's turret and minions freaking lose their mind, it takes like 10-15 second to get to lane. and with full points on W u can stack 2 waves of minions on every lane ;)
Didn´t think about walling minions, I feel like that could easily make her viable in the pro scene and get her nerfed if people acutally picked that up.

True. Good players see her potential. I think nowadays majority are obsessed about assassins that make very cool looking highlights, like Yasuo, Zed and they wish to become just as good as pro players are :D But lets be real, there is no jaw dropping highlight on Anivia gameplay. Even gold 3 zed plays look more entertaining than Froggen's Anivia. I think that is why she is so unpopular. Same as Ryze, Skarner and some more

She is my favorite champ and am a huge advocate for people to try her as a support. The wall really helps you catch out the enemy adc/support (whoever has less mobility) and either force early flashes or get destroyed in the trade after landing Q. Your passive is great in aggressive all ins early since you have 2 health bars and you have an adc to put pressure while you revive. Finally, having a Samira adc is the perfect pick to pair with Anivia since you proc her passive with her Q, have good kill pressure early to snowball, and your W plus her W make the lane very obnoxious to gank for the enemy jungler.

I think something not mentioned that poliko does is he always waits to use his wall. Like unless he is actively predicting someone’s movement (in a chase, in a dash, etc), he does not use it. I think it’s also on smart cast? Or whatever the thing is called that lets you press and hold to show the ability indicator. It’s really fascinating to watch him play bc it feels like he’s so calm, even when he’s getting pentas and shit it’s wild
Anivia is an insane strong champ, trying to explain it for years, she just need 6 to be able to control her lane, but she is a beast at receiving enemies and thats anoying as hell. In a meta like actualy where teamfight are a big part of the game anivia should shine, but people just dont wanna play her, she isnt "shiny" enough for them its not a champ with explosive visual gameplay so they are not itnerested in her, which is dumb.
But thats just not true. As he said, there are meta champs that has match up on her + Bigger impact thanks to range. Thats the reason she doesnt "shine". Nothing about shiny spells or whatever you though

every time I see an Anivia, I start sweating. The champion will appear in your soloq like once every 1-2 months, but when it does, its some sick otp who will steamroll through the entire game

Hi, guys. To any serious League player, I'm writing this for you and for you to understand the serious implications this game has on your mental health. I've been playing this game for 6+ years on and off, but every time I invest any serious amount of time, my mental health suffers greatly-- a lot of this has to due with long grind this game promotes via ranked(used to be much shorter before the "mmr" changes), the overwhelming amount of low quality games that are infuriating, and the very "rigged" feel of matchmaking. You will end up feeling sour about all the time you wasted in something so inherently toxic, so dubious and grindy by nature. It will make your life worse if you invest any serious time into it. I wanted to illustrate a point to a friend that had their mental down the drain and started a new account at the same time they did-- we never duo'd and he was Silver 4 and I was D3+. He ended up leveling to much faster, won more games, yet looking at the account you would think my friend was the Diamond player. His queue times are 50secs to a min long where mine is on average 10minutes and a lot of the times 15-20minutes, so that's a lot potential wins and a lot more exp being wasted just on queue times alone. I'm waiting for us to get into ranked, which at this point is going to take a while due to unwinnable games and queue times, so I can show him that the system will bring even a player like me to 50% winrates despite my visible rank being bronze/silver after placements. It's rigged to keep you grinding. Don't support Riot if they support this type of matchmaking system! ign: LOL Rigged Game

Earlier Versions of lol Had terrible Minion ai und could be abused but at that time, we we're nowhere near the Skill Level of today and as such, didnt realise what advantage the general concept gave. Thus it was forgotten
I really never thought of manipulating the wave in this way thats actually soo broken. But i play on NA severs so more than likely ima get flamed for doing this instead of roaming and then being called useless

Me who used to play OG dota would use that wall block using earthshaker to the point that they're banning in on our local tournaments bc it pulled the wave to the tower distance. And when i transitioned to LoL i always block the minion wave because of old habits. But yeah Anivia wall made sense. I was never a mage/AP player so it didn't occurred to me to use that primitive yet effective strat

Creepblocking is an essential basic skill on dota specially the wc3 one there are so many ways and cheese strats to pull the wave

Honestly you've got to be a really calm person to consistently play anivia.
Didn´t think about walling minions, I feel like that could easily make her viable in the pro scene and get her nerfed if people acutally picked that up.
Her biggest issue is her lack of mobility. Pro play requires constant movement and rotations so it is hard to draft Anivia.
